What we're listening to
Yep, he's done other books in my wish list too. :-) they'll be fun to listen too. That's good though. The more not Psycop books he does the more I'll be able to listen without conjuring Vic every time.
Honestly, Garth's latest isn't all that great, singing wise. Lyrics are a good message, but that's about it. To me anyway. You might like it though.
I'll need to check out some of those artists I've not heard before. Kasey, I recall liking. I also like Carrie Underwood too. There are some great singers out there, but their songs aren't that great, even if their voice is good. I'm still sick of all the guys singing terrible songs about girls the way they've been doing, and seem to continue doing.
I miss Alabama and Lone Star and the greats from twenty years ago. :-(

Clint Black is playing at our county fair next week. I've thought about going. He wasn't my favorite but he had some good songs back in the day.

Thank you. I love Josh Ritter, but I'm stuck to his old things.
These two songs make me especially cheerful and hopeful:
Snow is Gone
Good Man

I thought they might be right up your alley. :)
They're playing here soon. I may have to badger my husband into going with me. :)

Lovely, thank you.
Because someone else - like me - might have a problem recognising all the people there, here the cast:

I spotted Brian Wilson though, because I've just seen ''Love & Mercy'':

Uh oh. And he's narrating WINTER KILL too. And apparently a book for ZAM.
ACK.

I was feeling pretty proud of myself (and surprised!) that I could identify about half of the people. A cheat sheet is handy. :)
Don't fret, Josh, I think it's just me. I've listened to him do nothing but Psycop until now (four books now?) and talked with JCP in her gr group about how perfect his voice is for Victor. So I hear him and think of Vic.
Honestly, I love him as a narrator though. His voice actually helped when I had a headache or two back in the winter. I know. Strange. But true!
I think the more I listen to him do other books the less I'll think of him as only Vic.

Got off the treadmill with half an hour of the book left and couldn't put it down. I ended up finishing it wanting more adventures with these characters. I'd forgotten how this book ends and was surprised by the ending because it wasn't what I thought I remembered it to be. :-)

He's also read JCP's Channeling Morpheus for Scary Mary books and Body Art: A Thriller, ZAM's Gasp!, and a couple of Amy Lane's books. I think he's a great narrator. His voices are varied (enough) to differentiate and he's very comfortable with m/m romance. I look forward to hearing Winter Kill.

And in other audio news, I just got the notice that the files to EVERYTHING I KNOW have been uploaded for my listening enjoyment.

This one was narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo who I think has the perfect youthful, sort of tentative delivery.

I didn't even know that the whole series is on audiobook. It starts with Out of Position:

OK, so I thought that meant we could at least pre-order, no such luck, but I found Jefferson Blythe instead, so I pre-ordered that one ;-)

Audible doesn't let the indie productions be preordered, which is probably just as well because the dates definitely shift. And not always because it's anyone's fault, it's just kind of the nature of the business.

:D:D:D When did it go up for pre-order? Don't think it was there a few days ago. And it certainly wasn't there a few weeks ago when I blew a wad on Josh's audiobooks.

Not sure, but when I looked directly at Josh's list, rather than gay & lesbian, it was there yeaterday

Cool! Thank you for the heads-up, Idamus and everyone. I listened to a sample from the narrator (Aaron Landon) and his voice sounds appropriately youngish and pleasant, I think.

It seems to have just came up this week, no cover yet, etc. But I've pre-ordered.
I guess it would be nice if the author received a notification. : )

So, what do you suggest next? IN SUNSHINE OR IN SHADOWS, IN FROM THE COLD (I Spy stories), COME UNTO THESE YELLOW SANDS, H&M series, CARDS ON THE TABLE, ARMED & DANGEROUS, or FAIR GAME? How about SINNER'S GIN, first two Psycops, WIDDERSHINS, or SPECTR complete first series?

All good choices, and I've purchased and listened to them all. Not a one you can go wrong with LOL

Well, I'd go with Psycops and then I Spy or Holmes and Moriarity :D

Well, sounds like you have a perfect plan there. :-)
I'd add Adrien English series to the list, though. :-D

AE series on my wishlist, but RL expenses are cutting into my expensive habit.

Josh helps our budget by packaging some of his into one audio volume! Armed and Dangerous is a great example of only using one credit for 14 hours of Dangerous Ground series.
And In From the Cold: The I Spy Stories has all his I Spy stories together in one audio.
But seriously, his AE series is worth saving up your credits for, or watching for one of Audibles sales. They are THAT good.

Yes, that helps. But the AE series isn't bundled. I bought print books, not ebooks and Audible doesn't offer discounted audiobooks for every ebook purchased. Bought the entire Psycop series from Amazon and only the first two audiobooks are discounted. Again, AE on my wish list, but bottom line...have to watch my pennies.

Another great choice that was bundled AFTER I bought them all individually (lol) is Jordan L Hawks SPECTR series.. almost 25 hours of listening pleasure.. Its a very interesting paranormal.
And actually, most of Josh's books are whispersynced, so it ends up being worth buying the ebooks to get the audios whispersynced for only $1.99 each.

Hmmm... You might want to prepare yourself for Winter Kill then. I *think* Gomez Pugh is narrating that one... :-)
