I second Kim's idea of Comfort and Joy. I love listening to Christmas stories — year-around.

Those are all possibilities.

Another collection with various narrators is something I'd like to do too. In Sunshine and In Shadow turned out so well. I really would like to try another one like that.

Oh cool. yeah, I went ahead and bought the second two books in the series and just plowed right through them. Apparently there are a ton of little short stories between the three novels, but they're not in audio format. yet? So, I'm not sure how I want to read them. I am kinda hoping maybe if I wait long enough, the author might perhaps put out an audio collection of them. I would LOVE that. :-)

This sounds great! But will it be the entire novel or a short version? And is there a way to listen to it online? i would totally listen in for that. I actually have this coming Sunday free! :-) And I did enjoy reading that just a few years ago.

Susinok | 5205 comments I am re-listening to Come Unto These Yellow Sands. I had finished my current audio and was scrolling down my list of books on my ipod and stopped here.

I like the narration better this time than the first time. I heard a lot of odd inflections and hesitations the first time I listened. They are still here, but they don't bug me as much.

I you buy one more you get a $10 coupon in 10 days, as long as the original price is $14.95 or more (on all 4 books)

The narrator takes a little getting used to, but he grows in you as Percival grows in confidence :-)

I 'culled' my purchases down by ...um... Well, not 41 anymore! Lol (I bought 16 books!)! But, I only got ones where I loved the narrator, and that actually are series, or complete series. I know. It's a serious addiction... But I'll stick with water and peanut butter sandwiches for my little joys. Lol....

I love my audiobooks, and after life stress up the wazoo the last two months...gray hair multiplying by the 100s, I figured in celebration of my credit score going up 85 Points due to refi... I deserve my little pleasures!

Especially since Spring is taking it's sweet time! Hail. Snow. Ugh....

message 3685: by Susinok (new)

Susinok | 5205 comments I remember liking the narrator when I sampled the first two books. I have no memory of how he sounded though. I'll learn on my way to work today as I start them.

This weekend's roadtrip audiobook: In Sunshine or in Shadow. So of course I had to follow up with several codas from Merry Christmas, Darling!, reading one at a rest-stop and others when I got home. And it's not even July yet. ; )

message 3689: by Steve (new)

Steve Leonard (stevelonard) | 485 comments I loved the 'In Sunshine Or In Shadow' audio treasures, Karen. I listened to them as I walked each night. I confess I've not read all the Codas (for Shane). Currently I'm listening to 'Dirty Kiss' by Rhys Ford. The narrator is wonderful. I enjoy the book more on audio than I did reading it. I think it's because of all the Korean names. I struggled.

I usually end up reading/listening to that one just before Christmas and then again in midsummer.
