Thank you!!

That's NaNoWriMo, so I'll be using every available moment to write and won't get as much reading time as usual. But I can listen to audiobooks at times I can't sit down with my Kindle.

OMG, he's amazing. I had recently finished I Spy and am now listening to Snowball In Hell, and am surprised a bit by the range in his accents. He did a believable (to this American) English accent in the I Spy books, and a wide variety of American accents in both. I'm loving his voice, and how differently he read both books.

Back before I had audible books in a way that could travel easily, I used the text-to-speech on my Kindle only in emergencies. As in, I'd been awake all night and couldn't sleep trapped in a room with people snoring too loudly and I'd forgotten to bring my ear plugs, or something. That's why I'm soooo glad stories like ISOIS are available on audible now. I can listen to it without my ears bleeding! lol.

This is true. However, I've read a few books by the same narrator where they did a terrible job on one book but were almost brilliant on another by a different author. I was surprised to go back later and realize it was the same author. So, that changes how I look at narrators too. I think the narrator and the book have to be a good fit together. Otherwise: disaster strikes! lol.

YAY! Adding this to my wish list!

I've also noticed that the audible editions of Croak and Scorch are on sale too, for those who are interested in a little YA grim reaper action with tons of humor and poor dead Edgar Allan Poe getting picked on by dead American presidents.
I loved this. I love Gina's humor, and I'm really sad that she doesn't live near me any more. She used to visit the library sometimes just because she was picking up a book. She's doing a book talk next week for us, and I'm going to be on the other side of the country. boo!
I have yet to listen to the audios yet. Just downloaded them and can't wait to give them a listen!
Anyway, here's the links to audible:
Croak: http://www.audible.com/pd/Teens/Croak...
Scorch: http://www.audible.com/pd/Teens/Scorc...
Rogue is the third book in the trilogy, but is not on sale.

No, but I can listen from the site, so will give it a go

:-)
I am fascinated by these types of stories.
"What she realized is that the trial covered up a far more complicated story, which neither the jury nor the public got to hear. The high school scene, the shifting statements to police, the prejudices, the sketchy alibis, the scant forensic evidence - all of it leads back to the most basic questions: How can you know a person’s character? How can you tell what they’re capable of?"
Is he guilty or is an innocent man serving life in prison?

I'm partly listening because it's about a journalist and I've got a journalist hero in my upcoming NaNoWriMo story, so feel like some journalist stories. So I suppose that's a good excuse to listen to Snowball in Hell again too. :D

When I was listening to the audio files, I was home alone late at night, and I admit it was a little creepy. Even for me!
In fact, I don't like to work on scary scenes late at night. My imagination does take over, which I guess is natural. I'm trying to throw myself into the scene and experience what the characters would, so no wonder if I freak myself out a little! And freaking out the reader is definitely a goal. :-D

I listened to Cards On The Table last night. Well, most of it before falling asleep, then the rest in the very early morning hours. I've been borderline insomniac lately, and a good story relaxes me. Nicely done!

Thanks, Josh, that makes me less feeble! I'm not sure I'd have gone back into that flat after the bathroom mirror episode ...

Am I the only one who wasn't spooked?
Some of the stuff I read as a kidlet was much more hardcore :p
We also had our own ghost back then, but then again, she was nice, even if our dog was scared of her

Come on, Idamus, you can't throw in such a sentence without further explanation! Out with your ghost story!

We had a cold spot that moved around -even during heatwaves, and locked doors that opened on their own, our poor dog whimpered and shivered if she felt the cold spot.
A woman died in the house and was burried in the garden, the owner before us found her and a small stone with her name when they removed some bushes.
She died during the war so a young ghost, we never found out why she was burried in the garden though

It only had the name, but I think she was in her 40es, I'll have to check with the parents for that sort of details, it was not so much of interest to my 9 yo self :p
I was more fascinated by the doors that opened when no one was around
The stone was still there when we moved in by the way, but not the rest

"but not the rest" -- do you mean that she was reinterred somewhere else? I'm surprised it was legal to bury someone in a garden in the 1940s!

Wow, Idamus! What a story. I do wonder why she was put in the garden.

So it's remarkable that I still love the series a lot ;-)

Are you telling us that there are some Josh's stories you haven't read? I can't believe it.

Well, I can't say with absolute certainty that I've read ALL ;-P

I'm the same with Adrien English, love the stories, dislike Jake, a lot
I quite like Mark, he has zero social skills, but at least, after a few missteps, he's trying ;-)
I started out disliking Jake. But now that I'm rereading the AE books, I have a better insight into Jake since finishing the last book. I really like Jake. A lot. :-)
And since finishing all of Josh's books, I can now read the new releases as they come out. I feel like I'm accomplished something huge, by finishing them. And now I get to enjoy rereading them. Plus, a lot of them I've forgotten what happens because of my stupid brain with bad memory, so I can enjoy them almost as if for the first time.

I am exactly the same, I could not pace myself but had to read the whole backlist at once :-) Good thing that the books are so full of layers that I always discover something new while rereading them!

Oh I understand Jake, I just don't approve of the choices he made, I always have the virtual scissors ready when I read, um, I doubt Josh wants to know exactly how many times I have neutered Jake ;-)
