What we're listening to
They might be able to have them if they already have a way for patrons to download content online. If so, contact your library and tell them you want these books in audio. It might be that they have an online form for you to suggest a purchase. But if not, you might be able to offer your expertise in the genre to suggest titles you think a lot of other patrons might want. Smaller libraries might be open to such a thing, so long as they're open to LGBTQ content to start with. Larger libraries, like mine, just have an online form to fill out and you can only suggest 5 purchases a week. Also, our management reserves the right to think you know nothing about what you want and they know everything, so yeah.
Lol. In short, contact your library and see what they say.

But do get Whistling if you don't have it already, it's a great story

I wondered if that was it.
I think I just figured out how Audible recommends books. You need to rate books with those stars in order for it to know what to recommend even better, I guess, than just from what you've looked at and purchased.
I saw it said to rate books for better recommendations, when I went to leave a review for JCP, so I wrote up reviews for a few of the books I had things to say about, and just starred the others I've listened to.
The reviews come with guided questions. Once you hit the "preview" button, if you need to edit it, DON'T hit the "back" button. That will give you different guided questions, with your answers to the original guided questions you were given. It's a pain in the butt. Instead, click the "edit" button. I mean, that's mostly a DUH situation, but still. I hit the back button cause I'm used to doing that. In the end, I just filled out the final question on all of them "do you have any other comments?" It seems to be the same for all of them.
And when I say "guided questions" it's things like: Did you find the audio book better than the print book?
If you could take one character out to dinner, who would it be and why?
What did you like best about the book?
Things like that. For each review I did, I got all different questions, except the last one. Not sure I like that style of reviewing, but it was interesting.

I've rated and even reviewed mine, I still get 90% shit in my recs
(79 ratings and 8 reviews)

okay. Never mind then. Who knows how it works then.

I do think it's SUPPOSED to work like you described, it just....... doesn't
Someone (Jordan?) mentioned on another thread thinking of reading CUTYS tonight as a comfort read, which triggered a lightbulb for me in my quest for short and sweet books this weekend. (OK, a tangental lightbulb, since CUTYS isn't short or sweet, at least sweet in the sense I'm seeking at the moment.) So I began re-listening to The Dickens With Love on my drive to and from grocery shopping. Perfect.
I always find myself rereading this at least once during the summer. : )

There's also In Sunshine or in Shadow
Oh! Yes, both of those are great suggestions. Should have thought of them before. ISOIS is my fave short comfort read.

LOL. This is something we both do at least twice a year, right? ;-) I make sure that I reread The Dickens With Love every Christmas, but also during the summertime. Last year I reread it in August, and this year I've listened to it in May already. But... after reading your post I'll definitely start listening to it again tonight. I'm feeling weirdly Christmassy anyway, so it'll fit perfectly to my mood! :-D

I hope this means that you're feeling happy and festive, rather than cold...

I love this lol
New Foo Fighters is out in November. :p :D

I love Wentworth. Especially those crazy-ass standalones.

I loved the Kate Daniels series up until the last one - wasn't crazy about Magic Rises. I haven't read the newest yet.
I use my library's digital collection for a lot of non-M/M audiobooks. I listened to most of the In Death series that way. It's free and convenient. :-)

I'm not really sure. That's a good question. And I can't answer it. Truly cannot.
Unless you want to get specific about other things related to specific places. Then I can come up with quite a few places. Even as a patron, my library is not a place I would want to come hang out and write or read. Maybe in the courtyard on a nice day, but otherwise, at least until we get the renovation done, this is not a place I'd come to if I didn't have to. I hate to say that, but it's true. The renovation will take care of some of the problems for patrons, but certainly not all of them.
Though I will be quick to add, there are a lot of other libraries I've been to where I did enjoy spending my time there. Mostly college libraries with comfy seating. :-)

I remember reading an article online about that once and thinking it sounded really interesting. Part of me would like a chance to live simply like that. The other part of me says it wouldn't really work out much.

So far I like it

Did you know she has started a new trilogy, [book:Fool's Assassin about Fitz and the Fool? It's on my Kindle, but I haven't started it yet, I really look forward to it.
ETa: something strange happens to the format of my post, I can't seem to fix it :(

I've seen it somewhere, but thanks :-), I'm awaiting reviews from friends as I don't really like Fitz, but I adore the Fool

I loved the Farseer books. I haven't read the ship series yet. I really need to.

It's set between the two other trilogies, but I don't think it matters (it's been a while since I read them)
I liked the Farseer books too, I just couldn't stand Fitz

Ah, Wise Guys :-) You have an enlightened teacher. I'm not that much into them, but they are very popular here in NRW.
My daughter likes this one:
"Mein Nachbar ist ein Zombie" (can't find a good clip on Youtube, there was a nice one with a lego-zombie, but it's no longer available :-(

Same song, but I like this video much, much better

I have two teachers, they're both younger than me O.O

Ouch, yes, I know the feeling. One of my friends said that she started to feel old when lying in hospital after a stroke (she was 35 at the time) and half the doctors were younger than she was...
The second video is great, btw!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDk8i...

I also finished Ghost of a Chance. Oh, Kevin... how I love thee....;)
He just can not go wrong, can he?
And for some reason I had a major flashback to Adrien and Jake while listening to the chemistry between Sam and Rhys. So of course I am therefore listening to Fatal Shadows and already feeling dread in my stomach for THYS and DPK.... even with my endless rereads/relistening ;)
(hint to Among the living narrator: that is how you make a hot alpha cop sound)

Same song, but I like this video much, much better"
Absolutely! ;-) And they tried to match the images to the lyrics!

Having listened to Among the Living twice now I can say that Jacob's voice still doesn't really do much for me. But I loved the others. Hadn't thought about the incubus' voice for Jacob, but now I'm going to have to relisten to it again.
I tried to get into Cardeno C.'s Wake Me Up Inside yesterday in audio, but there was too much explaining the back story and nothing to keep me listening. I kept wanting to get back to the present time to find out if something serious was going on, but that wasn't happening fast enough for me. So for now, I'm giving up.
Then I tried Acrobat by Mary Calms and the characters were having a long opening "argument" that sorta mirrored the one from Wake Me Up Inside and it wasn't ending fast enough so I gave up on that one too.
Anyway, I just finished The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks for the first time. Loved it! But like I need to tell you guys how good it is. Lol.

I'm sure I read in one of those articles about Amazon/Hachette that when Amazon discounts an ebook Amazon still pays the full amount to the publisher and absorbs the loss itself. If that was correct, then why isn't its subsidiary Audible doing the same?
