What we're listening to

Oh, you are tempting me. I need more hours for reading and listening to books! Where can I get those hours?

Yes. Adrian and I have discussed Kick Start. I just have to finish it! :-)

You are definitely in the mood for Christmas!

Strange Fortune is a 10 hour book and listening to it about 45 minutes a day (commute) is going slowly. It's been to distracted to listen at work.

Hope you’re feeling better soon Johanna, sending healing thoughts your way :)

I'm waiting too, mostly because my smartphone will be happier to download one file and not four.

Hugs coming your way, DeniseE and Jordan! :-)
It seems that I'm actually not getting better yet and I'm afraid I've contaminated hubby, too. :-(

Enjoy, Becky! And let us know if your theory on the killer was correct. :-)
The Darkling Thrush and Strange Fortune were the only Josh Lanyon books I have listened to without having read the actual book first. Both worked well for me that way.

I did the same thing with Ghost Wore Yellow Socks. It was such a great performance.

Really enjoyed that. Wanted to crack the lads's skulls together a couple of times, as you do. ;-)
Have grabbed The Dickens With Love for my next one. Though still doing Monsters of Men too. That's 15.5 hours long, so it will keep me occupied for a while.

If you've got the bug I've got (could it have traveled so far?!) I am STILL coughing. A lot.

Oh dear... that doesn't sound promising. Same bug or not, mine seems to be a pretty viscous one, too. After resting four days it seems that almost nothing has changed for better. :-(

I'm sorry guys! I hope you feel better soon! I also wish my audio of The Charioteer were here so I could send it to you for listening pleasure and whatever healing properties cassette tapes have.

Oh no!! I had staff who had something similar recently and it seems to linger for several weeks, ironically they all got it after they got the flu shot... but I’m still sending healing thoughts your way :)

No... I'm supposed to get mine next week. What to do??

Stay away from EVERYONE.

Stay away from EVERYONE.

That will be difficult (I wish I could stay away from the flu shot, though!). I let myself be talked into it. It kind of became a "team event" at work. We're all getting our shots at the same time. I never had one before. I'm getting more scared the more I write. Somebody stop me... Argh.

Um. You say that now...?
I avoid flu shots like the plague. But that's cause I grew up with an alternative nutritionist for a parent who doesn't believe in most of that stuff.
I always would get a cold for two days out of the year and be fine the others. So, I'm not sure what good a flu shot does. Two days in bed, no school, and plenty of good books to read was heaven to me! Lol.
I still don't get sick very often even now.
I would definitely be the coworker who doesn't go with the flow on this one. But that's just me.

All I know is a month later I'm still coughing, and every year for the past four...five? years I get the flu. So my conclusion is, I probably need to get a flu shot. Or live in a bubble for six months out of the year. (Which I kind of do, come to think of it.)

Don't worry about it, Calathea. It's a reasonable thing to do, taking the flu shot. I've had it several times during the years. You can do eeeet. :-)

I love Alexander's reading of Bryce. Almost but not quite over the top. Every time I hear that "Owh hai, Mahrk," I snicker.

I didn’t mean to scare you, I get the flu shot every year (it’s mostly a requirement at my work) and usually don’t get the flu, and if I do the symptoms are a lot less severe. Also the majority of us at work who had it are just fine. So I hope that help with your worry over it…

I kind of felt sorry for Bryce toward the end of the series. I hoped he eventually got his own happy ending.

I guess there really isn't anything wrong with Bryce at all, we just always see him from Mark's point of view, and he is perhaps not too reliable? There must be some good in a guy who makes snickerdoodles. (And I am so happy I could use that word in a sentence) :)

Bryce is just one of those really nice guys that in fiction we get bored with easily. He's a bit more of a traditionalist, and Mark makes fun of that. But that says more about Mark than it Bryce.

Yes, ref the discussion in the Catch a Ghost thread. There is a difference in what I think is fun to read about as opposed to what I would like to experience in real life. I love my life, but it would probably make a very boring book. Not to mention, no Romance ;)

Anyway.... I get a "Guy" feeling about him.....
But honestly Steven really has the worst taste in men... he really does..... Mark is (view spoiler)

I do like reading books by the likes of Kristen Ashley who writes spendid alpha assholes but if a man like that was anywhere near me in real life? He'd be so out the door..... in fact I probably wouldn't even open the door.... or even look through the peephole...;)

Hell no. ... I'd probably use the cane on him while chasing him out the door ;)

That's really a beautiful story!

You're welcome! How are you, Johanna?
I have come down with a milder version of your illness; I'm beginning to think that the Internet does transmit germs!

Then it looks like I infected Johanna, because I had a sore throat and was coughing for some two weeks, even tough I didn't say it here.

And I am there too right now, so it is probably Goodreads' fault, yes? :) Not that I plan to drop out....

You have wonderful voice, Adrian. I'm about to make a nest under the warm blankets and continue listening to Dangerous Ground in a minute. While down with the flu it's HEAVEN to be able to close my eyes and to listen to you telling Tay and Will's story. Revisiting them this way makes their story to come alive in the loveliest way. Thank you.
