But you can't listen until December! Buy it now and reserve it as treat for when you need it most!

(OR listen now, if you really do prefer.) ;-)

message 954: by Becky (new)

Becky Black (beckyblack) Listening to Patrick Ness's Monsters of Men now. Hmm, the only Josh audio books I don't have yet are ones I mostly ones I haven't read yet. So I think I'll soon be listening first, reading later! But Monsters of Men first and that's 15 and a half hours long, so will take me a while yet!

message 955: by Mtsnow13 (new)

Mtsnow13 | 1115 comments Just finished listening to The Druid Stone while driving thru Glacier Park. Took like 500 photos, and it was basically empty, so a great setting for listening :) Now I have started Who We Are. Going now to look for The Dickens With Love!

In a fantasy world that would be a perfect thing to do — to save The Dickens With Love audio book for Christmas. It would require some kind of superpowers for not listening to it right away though. I'm not that strong... in fact, I feel very weak right now... and I have such a soft spot for ocelots in weird places and for some sparkle in my drink... ;-)

Alright alright, I promise at least to TRY to save it for Christmas. It's a perfect Christmas story after all. I absolutely love it. And it has become one of my dearest Christmas traditions anyway... :-)

I've seen the "But you can't listen until December!" too late. Was it on the pachage somewhere? I didn't even try to resist. O.O

Well, it's just that LB Gregg and I planned on doing these two little Christmas audio stories. And then mine came out about a month earlier than I'd expected, so that kind of messed up the holiday plan.

We'll still cook up some crazy Winter holiday fun.

Well, I listened to it last night. Just because I needed that. But I'll listen to it again over Winter Break. : )

You could always re-listen to it while you're putting up your Christmas decorations? - after listening to it RIGHT NOW! (That's my approach, anyway...)

I'm checking daily for L.B. Gregg's audiobook. Audible/ASX are really frustrating me with their delays in issuing your books!

LOL. That's true, of course. But sometimes the sweet anticipation is almost as good as the actual thing you are looking forward to. :-)

Or that's at least what I'm telling myself while trying to postpone listening to it the first time... ;-)

How wonderful to have The Dickens With Love in audio now. Great for emergencies. ;-) When you really need something to give you hope and joy — it's there, waiting for you to reach that happy feeling. I'm quite serious when I say that having this book in audio is one of the best Christmas gifts I've ever got. A story with unconditional love and laughter. What more can one ask? :-)

It's going to be mid-December for her. Her narrator only signed off last week and it's five weeks to approval right now, so...:-(

But that's okay! We're going to do a twin X-mas audio promo when SIMPLE GIFTS goes live. It will be fun.

I need to re-download the Christmas anthologies you did for Carina. I loved those stories!

And speaking of audio book promotion, I have five audio book credits to give away. I thought that I would do that here in my Goodreads group, since so much of my promo takes place on Facebook.

I'll do that tomorrow, Sunday, and it will be on the Giveaway and Contests threads. :-)

You enabler, you! :)
I was going to look, but you have saved me the trouble. I just listened to the sample. Holy mackerel. I melt.
Okay, that's the best five dollars I've spent today. Who'd have thought I'd ever be buying Thomas Hardy audiobooks? Not I.
Thank you, dear.

Okay, listen, listen, listen.

The Armed and Dangerous collection is a way to get all four stories for a lot less money. I'll only mention it once because Adrian and I are splitting royalties on the individual titles. BUT it is to your benefit to wait for the collection.

(What I am really saying here is I don't want a lot of aggravated emails from people when the collection is released -- I don't know why Audible is holding up the collection release, but they are.)

Johanna, I'm so sorry you're sick and I hope you feel better soon. Audiobooks are the best when you're in bed feeling ill, aren't they? You can close your eyes and listen, and the story takes your mind of how bad you're feeling.

Yep. I did fight it bravely, but it seems that wasn't enough. My nose runs, throat hurts, my head hurts, even my gums throb. And the coughing is a bitch. If this goes on for very long I'm afraid I'll have to bring on THE emergency audio book (view spoiler). ;-)

Oh, the bright side of this all is that my voice sounds super sexy. :-)

This stuff is traveling the world!! I know plane travel carries it, but now viruses are surfing the web.

Yes, enjoy your audio books, and get well soon. Healing thoughts sent your way and around the web to the others here who are ailing.

I was too impatient to wait. I don't begrudge Josh and Adrian a little bit more return for their work. At least I hope that's what splitting means. I listened to about half of Dangerous Ground last night. What a great bedtime story.

I'm resisting a sick day, but kind of hoping for a snow day this week. Get better soon, everyone!

Becky Black (beckyblack) I've figured out that audiobooks are the way to get some "reading" done during NaNoWriMo when I'm dead busy. Got two on the go now. Josh's The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks and Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness Starting to listen to them on my tablet has made the difference to getting more sessions in.

I have The Dickens lined up for closer to Christmas though, together with Simple Gifts when it arrives, and I also have downloaded Strange Fortune already. So I have not deserted the fold.... ;)
