Another song I love -- and it does have a Pros vid tied to it -- is I Don't Know Why I Love You.
I can't find it anywhere though!

Oh yeah? Is it one of these:
I Don't Know Why I Love You by Stevie Wonder
I Don't Know Why (I Love You) by The Brand New Heavies
I Don't Know Why I Love You by House of Love

Nice picks, Johanna! I love the House of Love song, but it looks like it was done too late to play on a Pros vid.

Yeah, that's true. But I, too, like the House of Love song a lot. :-)

It was a fan vid so it was only done a few years ago. It was really brilliant. Probably my all time favorite fan vid. I hope I still have it somewhere. I think I lost all those fan vids about two computers back.

Glad you're enjoying it! (I have to confess I didn't relax listening to those until THYS -- all I can hear is how I would write them now days! So it's so reassuring when I hear someone is loving them.)

You're too hard on yourself! You may be a better writer now, but you were already very very good then - nothing to be ashamed of at all.

What Hj says, and rereading is good, but rewriting seems to take things a little too far...? ;)

I will say that many readers whose opinions I respect love those books, so I know it's more about me than the writing.
I just can't help it. I'm not sure I wouldn't constantly rewrite everything I ever did if it wasn't (luckily) completely impossible.

Joooossshh! Don't you DARE mess with those books! They are MINE! MINE I tell you! You can't change them! I will clutch them in my hot little hands until my dying day!
If you want to play with Adrien and Jake (now there's a mental image...) then make it new. ;)

Now days I mostly limit myself to copyedit type tweaks. ;-D

He said it here in ''The Montly Round Up'':

That's because Chris is a bit back and forth on delivery times. He was saying a month ago he'd be bringing the files in way ahead of time, but on his Facebook he's posting comments about how much he's hating doing audio books.
So...I am not encouraged. I figure the books show up when they show up.

BUT I was excited to see last night that the narrator of the I Spy series uploaded the second book this week.

Bummer.

At Audible? I keep checking but the # of books under your name has stayed the same. Maybe I missed something?

It's not exactly heartwarming to read those kinds of comments. I understand venting, but social media is not always the best venue. Given that not only clients but prospective clients are reading along.

Oh, sounds not encouraging... :(
Is it not common to agree upon dates for delivery in this audio book business? I mean, it's not as if the voice actor has to come up with the story on their own... *justcurious*

Yep. The books are contracted with specific dates. That said, I know life has a way of knocking a deadline off course. This next book is not technically due until October 1st, so he's fine for time.
The problem is the back and forth on the promise to bring the books in early -- and the bitching about paid work. A lot of equally talented people would be very glad of paid work.
Audio narration is very competitive these days.

Damn! I saw the message he left before you went on vacation and it sounded hopeful, so I was hopeful... Oh well, it will be good when it arrives.

I'd put up with a bit of nonsense for that too. But I agree with your comments, Josh - very unprofessional and not sensible of Chris!

Absolutely.
I also read he has some health troubles though. Maybe we can give him some slack?

I checked his FB page too and didn't see any comments about audiobooks, but he sounds busy and his partner's been sick.

Uh oh. That doesn't sound good. I hope he gets over his slump enough to finish the series at least.

Yep. This is why I went ahead and contracted the whole series after the first book (and attendant comments). He does a very good job and readers love him. And it's only five books. (GULP.)

And God knows the atmosphere of the Internet tempts us all into blabbering more than we should. It's not like I haven't been there.

I agree. We often say "I HATE" doing something, when it's something which actually we love doing but are having a (temporary) problem with doing as well as we'd like.

Oh Anne. That's so touching. I'm so glad you shared that with your father.
Oh Anne. That's so touching. I'm so glad you shared that with your father.

Things do get better over time although some things will never be the same. It isn't a secret that it is hard to see my father so reduced and so lonely, but this time I heard him sing and whistle to himself. He has always done that, but the months after my mother passsed, he was silent. So even if it is still hard to leave after visiting, and all of us feel we can never be there enough to fill his needs, it was so good to see and hear him being more like himself, or as much as can be excpected. So yes, I am sure time will help your mom as well, dear Juthi.

This is so touching.
It does seem a strange and ineffective arrangement that so often we are alone and lonely at the end of our lives.
It's such a downer thought to express, but I suppose it's on my mind because I don't have children. Anne makes a wonderful difference in the life of her father -- Juthi makes a difference in the life of her mother.
And there is a lot to be said for those moments of simple contentment.

There was an issue with the I Spy books, so those are now back in the waiting-to-be-approved queue. The short story anthology just went into the queue on Saturday, so...I am hoping (fingers crossed) end of the month for that one.
Chris Patton is not scheduled to turn in the next AE book until October 1st, there will be edits... maybe end of October or early November there.
Adrian Bisson started out strong but he's lost momentum due to being sick, moving, etc. So I don't know. I'd hoped to have that one ahead of schedule, but if he's just going by his scheduled deadline, we're probably looking at late December or early January.
