wow - it's a pretty international group. Good to see some other Kiwis here. I'm from a tiny town called Shannon, in the North Island of New Zealand. But I now live in a beautiful place called Whanganui, just a little bit further up the island.
Its very green and very friendly, with a fabulous arts environment.

I liked the idea of nominating a book that helps people move beyond stereotypes about our nationalities. Is there going to be a thread for that? Lots of people automatically think sheep and LOTR when New Zealand is mentioned :)

I live just outside of Rochester NY. It's upstate, not in the big city. We have 4 distinct weather seasons. Fall is beautiful and full of color. The worst weather we get is snow. Nothing like getting snowed in and curling up with a good book.
