Kelli This is going to sound really stupid, but I'm going to ask anyway. I KNOW I know who Josephus is, but I can't remember for the life of me. Could you refresh my memory? It's driving me nuts! :D

I didn't know who he was until my pastor mentioned him in a sermon and I had to look him up...he is said to comfirm many of the wars, sites and activities going on in the known world as Christanty began to develop.
Josephus is a Jewish historian who live during the time of Jesus. And actually wrote many manuscripts that are studied today.

Denise Josephus was a Jewish historian. His histories aren't always accurate and he has a habit of coming off pompous and self glorifying. However, vivid writing and a certainly a person worth knowing about. The book can be difficult to get through, I took it in small chunks over the course of a year and still ended up skimming many parts. Mostly got the book because I wanted to look up quotes and citations directly.

Lee Harmon Josephus has a controversial place among Biblical scholars. He three times seems to make reference to Jesus in his works (their authenticity is hotly contested). Also, in his War of the Jews, his story of the war of 70 CE closely resembles many portions of the book of Revelation.
