Charis Gallaher So. I haven't read Bloodlines yet. But I read Vampire Academy and I loved it. Is Bloodlines good or just a waste of time?

Sharon The series is amazing. The first book is ok since the real action doesn't start then, but it gets better from the second. If you are considering reading it, try to get through the first - boring at first, but Adrian makes it easier to get through it

read it. i thought bloodlines was less action packed but it is awesome in its own way. i used to be a hardcore hater of anything Adrian, but richelle mead made me love him in bloodlines.

Roots That's a really hard questions... BLOODLINES SERIES!

Molly Rose Liv Love Laugh wrote: "I LOVE both but..., I like Rose more than Sydney but, I like Bloodlines' storyline better. ;)"

I definately agree with you. Rose has a bit more personality then Sydney and it made you really interested in what she was doing. I love Dimitri too so that bumps VA's points up a little

Savrinio Bloodlines
The characters where more humorous and more refreshing and in my opinion the lead characters have more chemistry in bloodlines than they did in VA.

Allyn Joyce VA I like christian, and Rose. :)

Emily Bloodlines, definitely. I wasn't a big fan of VA, mainly because I never liked Rose very much, Lissa has always irritated me, and I find Dimitri to be very bland. In fact, I really only kept reading VA because a friend of mine insisted that Bloodlines was a lot better. Well worth it, though, for Bloodlines.

crossingbookworlds VA always! I just love Rose and Dimitri, but I had a whole picture of them in my head and when I saw the cover of the movie, I could just cry at that moment! Dimitri wasn't a real hottie, I thought.

Zafra I absolutely love both the series', but I see them both in very different lights. Obviously, Sydney's story is quite amazing with it's crazy plot twists and the different strategically placed elements. And then we have VA which is action packed, kind-of-paranormal and overall in a darker or rather intenser light than bloodlines. I don't know if it's just me but I honestly love both equally as much as I love the other.

Zafra LiLi wrote: "S.L.J. wrote: "I'm sure you will all be very excited to know that the guy that plays Dimitri in the VA movie is in the new Chanel ad with Kiera Knightley."

I know right!!!! I had to go rewatch it to make sure it was him. Ugghhhh so attractive.

Zafra Sharon wrote: "I love the ending of VA and the whole of Bloodlines. Sure, the first one starts out a bit boring, but it gets better by every book. Personally, I think Bloodlines is funnier than VA, mostly thanks ..."
sooo true, I keep trying to convince people to keep going. I love VA and Bloodlines and need someone to ramble on about it to.

Zafra Is it just me or does everyone else imagine Chace Crawford as Adrian.

Nikita Both series are great. The story, plot, characters and romance are all great to me. I love them both.

message 65: by Bri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bri you all look so interested and from what it looks like maybe you could use your favorite authors imagination twist some stuff up and bam write your own book......:)

Sharon Zafra wrote: "Is it just me or does everyone else imagine Chace Crawford as Adrian."

I imagine him as Adrian for Vampire Academy and Nic Wheeler for Bloodlines.

Zafra I genuinely can't wait for Ruby Ref like I love these books they always make me feel as if I'm at home. It's a weird feeling but a good one at that.

message 68: by Bri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bri Liv i think thats so cool im trying to write a book to but i get stuck at the boring part like the part's when someons not punching or hurting someone else.

Talia Bloodlines because I absolutely love Sydrian!! Though I do miss Rose quite a bit (she's my fav book character of all time), I don't like Dimitri. He's so boring!!

message 71: by Lily (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lily Bloodlines because Sydrian

message 72: by Kelly (new) - rated it 1 star

Kelly Martin I made two attempts to read that book. I decided I'm too old

I agree with this. (;
VA all the way!

message 74: by Adriana (last edited Jan 17, 2015 08:37AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Adriana Nilsson Ok I love both books just love Bloodlines more. And thats because
Sydney is so adorably awesome and a little more relatable. I didn't really like her in the VA but now I totally love her. First she is a little socially awkward.
I loved This series from the first book you become so proud of Sydney during the series because she grows so much.
And I didn't think at first when I read the first book that Sydrian would ever be a good couple but they belong together, not because they are so much alike like Rose and Dimitri but because they are so diffident and alike at the same time that makes them amazing. Can't wait for The Ruby Circle

PinkPepper I love them both and could never chose.
they are both different in there own ways. But both has forbidden romance, and fighting

Taryn Vampire Academy > Bloodlines.

From Vampire Academy to Last Sacrifice I was engaged, even when Rose made some dumb decisions (but she's a teenager, it's allowed). Bloodlines and Golden Lily were boring, Indigo Spell could have been better but was dragged down by Sydney's idiocy, Fiery Heart and Silver Shadows were absolutely cringe worthy.

VA had a wonderful supporting cast and I cared what was happening to them; it wasn't always Rose, Rose, Rose. Bloodlines basically drops its supporting cast into the very far background after the first book to focus on Sydney and Adrian only.

Plus Adrian was awesome in VA and has been thoroughly ruined since Golden Lily. It's like he's not even the same character anymore. For shame!

Jorja Caldwell Abby :} wrote: "Vampire Academy

legit.

Diana Braxton Hmmmm.... Tough question... Honestly, I think Vampire Academy.

Plot wise, VA is so much better. I just finished the fiery heart and it feels like things are only just starting to come togehter.

Characters, I'm not sure. Before The Fiery Heart, I think I perfered Sydney over Rose because we're both academic nerds, but in The Fiery Heart, she was all about sex, and never, ever in the VA books was Rose ever that bad. Plus, Rose is super bad ass!

Setting: They're both fairly well set. I dont think the settings played much of a role enjoyment wise for me.

Winner: VA

message 79: by Rose (new) - rated it 3 stars

Rose I love both the VA & the Bloodlines series & its really tough to decide the better one of the two but......
I heart VA, so for me Vampire Academy is the winner here !

Sanyo Bloodlines for sure, I liked the characters more just in general in this series.

Denia Books & Baubles I can't choose between the two of them, because Bloodlines hasn't ended yet, but I do like Rose and Dimitri better than Sydney and Adrian, although they are both a really good couple.

VA is full of action and besides romance friendship meanwhile Bloodlines is all full of serious thinking, smartness, adventure and way other level of romance, like who would think Adrian and Sydney will end up together?

message 82: by Vafan (new)

Vafan I have read the vampire academy series and just finished with bloodlines...
And i have to say bloodlines is NOTHING compared to the VA series..
Bloodlines started on a very excited note but it just became silly towards the end books.. It seemed more like a fan fic
Also the connectivity with the characters was more in the VA series, like with rose, dimitri and Lissa as compared to those in bloodlines..
Had huge expectations from silver shadows and ruby circle :(

message 83: by Barbara (new) - added it

Barbara i like Bloodlines better! First it was mostly because of Adrian and his crazy comments and later Sydney really started to grow on me, even more than Rose and Lissa. And the Ruby Circle............ Don't get me started, just awesome!!! I still love VA too, but if I have to choose it's Bloodlines all the way

message 84: by Dimitra (new)

Dimitra Vampire academy by far. I found bloodlines quite boring when I was reading VA I couldn't put the book down with bloodlines is not even close to that. Also Rose was a unique character, she was so brave and passionate so different from any other book!

Polina Definitely Vampire Academy

message 86: by Bri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bri I choose both I think she's a great author and these books are to die for

Maycee Turner I really liked VA and bloodlines series but i have to say i like VA a lot more. Mostly bc the plot line seamed better to me. I also liked the people more.

Elena R D I have not read Bloodlines, in VA I didn't like Sydney nor Adrian that much and I'm too obssessed over VA to read Bloodlines, i mean really VA is liiiife. Anyone reccomends similar books to VA(not Bloodlines)?

I have not read bloodlines yet but this makes me think twice about doing so... I love Adrian!!!

message 91: by Emily (last edited Jan 10, 2016 09:29PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emily Bloodlines for me! I didn't like Rose very much, and Dimitri is probably the most boring, generic YA male character I've ever read. I adored Sydney and Adrian, on the other hand. In fact, I only stuck with VA early on, because my friend promised me Bloodlines was better. VA picked up a lot during the last three books, but I still prefer Bloodlines overall.

cynnamon VA is better lets just leave it at that shell we

Read it!! Sure it has a couple things where you're like "Nooooo!" But it the kind where it just makes you want to keep reading to see what happens. Which is exactly what I did and it got much better and ended perfect. It got so interesting at some parts to the point where I was having trouble breathing, literally.
