GREAT BOOKS and subject Ally! We offer your books for lit circles during our Societal control unit to our 7th and 8th grade students and was wondering what were you hoping the young adults would most learn from or obtain from your stories or what message did you want mostly expressed? Thank you!

Have you thought about making Matched into a movie? but serious question: Where did most of your inspiration come from when writing the trilogy?
Hi Ally,In the Matched trilogy's covers, the girl each slowly come out of the glass orb until the last book where she is free. Does this have to do with Cassie freeing herself from this dystopian world?
Why green for the dress?
Where is this book taking place. It is mentioned that is near the beach in the 1st book but do you have a particular place?
Hey so this is going to have kind of a spoiler so don't read this if you have not read crossedBut when i was reading why didn't cassia get sick when she took the blue pill and whats its like writing a book how did u get the inspiration for the matched trilogy? Whats your favorite dystopian novel?
Hey! :) Where/how did you get your inspiration for the things in the Matched Trilogy that made it different and iteresting? Such as the society that they lived in, the rules, the way the world looked, and the pills.
Hi! My name is Jiwan. I was wondering what inspired to write a story of a lov-triangle. The fact that Cassia gets to be a lucky one with two hot guys. Never stop writing :-) I'm your biggest fan. Also, all my friends want you to visit our school in Korea! Seoul Foreign School. Thank you for taking your time to answer my question.
Dear Ally,I have read the Matched series and I loved them!!! ❤ I couldn't put them down. I have just a few questions:
1) How did you come up with the idea for this series?
2) How did you pick the characters names.
3) How did you or your family decide to spell your name with a y? My nickname is Ally and I rarely see anyone spelling their name like that.
Thanks so much and again I loved your books!!!!
Ally : )
hey ally ,i absolutely love your books but i really wanted to 2 questions really. who was your favorite character to write about or in general, and what helped you develope the wonderful story line in all your books?
from Sam
Hello Ally,I am a huge fan of the Matched trilogy. Reached especially blew me off my seat. But my question is: After completing the Matched series, did you ever feel that Cassia's, Ky's, or Xander's stories would carry on or that the rest of their lives will be as interesting as the past few years? Thank you for devoting your time in writing the beautiful and poetic Matched, Crossed, Reached.
Sincerely,
Zach Thompson, Loyal Fan and Kyssia Shipper.
hello miss ally, i was wondering what if anything do you have in mind for a follow up. by that i mean there is still clearly many stories that could be told after reached but do you have any in mind and if you do, do you think you would ever right them down. or are you respectfully putting the matched universe to rest. also what if any news do you have on a possible movie version of the first book. i had heard stirrings but direct news from you would be great! :)
Hi Ally, how are you today?
Ad you may know, the publishing houses in spain have republished the trilogy whith black covers. I wanted to know, what do you feel about that? Do you think that it was necessary a chinge like that? Do you think this new covers are cute?
Thank you for answering.
Greetings from argentina!

Dear Ally,With an odd number of girls vs boys in the world, what happens to all the girls that don't get matches? How do you pronounce Cassia (because I say cas-ee-uh, but I think you say it differently)? What would happen if a girl and boy were to fall in love before a Matching ceremony and then they chose someone else for them? Is there a list of the pre-approved songs and paintings and dresses?
Write on,
Emily
Hi Ally, I was just wondering if you are planning on writing any more books and of so what will the books be about and so.....yeah. Someone else has probably asked this already but I thought I might as well ask :)
Hi! First off, I love you! You're an amazing author and the uniqueness of the Matched Trilogy is something to be admired! They way you took such a different stand on the dystopian globe is amazing!I absolutely adore poetry, art, music, and literature of all sorts...So, the "100" system, horrified me. What made you decide to do that instead of just no art/stories/poems/songs?
What poem inspires you the most?
What was your biggest struggle while writing the books?
And lastly, do you think it would be possible for you to find some way to incarnate Ky? We would be very happy together...(Bravo on creating such an awesome character by the way!)
Emilee from Fantastical Paper Realm
Hi Ally! You probably hear this a lot, but I love your books. I was just wondering if you ever considered collaberating with other authors to write a book and or series? Also what is your favorite movie? (I thought I would throw in a random question).
-Jackie
Hi Ally!I am a huge fan of the Matched series and have probably re-read them more times than any other book I own. I absolutely love every one of your books. I wanted to know wich of the characters was your favorite to write? And if you had to pick a character from your books who would you be?
Thank you so much! I think you are amazing
Shaylee :)
Hi Ally, I liked your series, and I think you should consider making it into a movie.
Every story needs inspiration. Where did you get your inspiration on the plot line?
Jean
Hi Ally!! I'm thrilled to be on this group, I loved the Matched trilogy. Seriously, I got Matched when I was on a trip and I "missed" all the fun because I couldn't stop reading it... Totally worth it.I'd like to ask you how did you come up with the names?
Who's your favorite poet? Because I love how you involved poetry into the trilogy.
Who would you choose?? Ky or Xander??
And also, thanks to your books, I want to name my daughter Cassia... If I ever have one of course!! Haha, I really hope you reply because you would make me so happy!!!
Greetings from Mexico!! xx
Sandra.
Hey :)I have an obsession when it comes to dystopian. While reading, i saw that it was pretty original, considering the number of dystopian novels out there. I wanted to know how to kept it original, especially since there must have been many other dystopian influences such as the hunger games or divergent around while you were writing.
Hi Ally! I was wondering, were there any people you know in real life which you based your main characters off of? I love all characters, including Cassia, Xander, and Ky, and I think it'd be really cool if there were people that influenced their personalities.
Thanks!
Truly,
Nikki :D
My curiosity is about the Hundred selections- how many categories did you imagine them having, and did you make lists of what all the Society had selected for each? I found this concept very intriguing, the idea of such a streamlined culture, everything regulated to a list.Love the series!
-Melissa
Dear Ally,My name is Claire and I adore your Matched trilogy!! I have a few questions. 1) How did you come up with the "Society" and all the rules that they inforce? 2) Who/How did you/someone come up with the idea for the book covers? 3) What do each of the covers represent (what is your thought on them?)? 4) Which book is your favorite and why? And 5) Who/What was your inspiration to write and develop these amazing books?
I love you soooo much!
~Claire
P.S. You're awesome! :D
Dear Ally,I've read the entire Matched trilogy and loved it! I just have a few questions
where did you get idea for the totalitarian government and its structure?
how do you feel in this day and age where dystopian fiction is at the height of popularity that your books stand out?
how did you come up with the characters?
Will there be a movie?
Thank you,
Jillian
Hi Ally!I am very curious to know after reading the matched trilogy what your intent was for Vick and Indie's deaths. Also why you decided to introduce Xander and Laney or Nea Lei was intriguing. I would love to know what you were thinking when planning these aspects of your storyline. Thanks so much, I really enjoyed the series!
Hello :)I was just wondering what or who inspired you to write the 'Matched Trilogy'? And also if you could give some advice to someone who aspires to become an author.
From Maddy
Hi there, Ally! When writing Crossed, did you ever consider ending the book before/right after Ky and Cassia were reunited? I was so afraid that they weren't going to find each other by the time the book ended!
Thank you for answering!
Emma
Hey Ally, My name's Renee, and I really enjoyed your Matched trilogy!
I was wondering if you feel that the dystopian world you created is a direction that you feel our world is heading.
Also, If our world was to become a kind of dystopian society, would you lead a revolution? :)
Thankyou so much for your time! And thankyou for writing such an amazing trilogy!
xoxo Renee
Hi Ally,Cassia's grandfather tells her it's all right to wonder, and over the course of the books she learns to understand this. Was this an important message? Did you leave the political outcome vague so that we could wonder?
just wanted to say i loved the matched trilogy, i definitly recommend them to others. I was just wondering if you were going to be writing more books like this? also do you have any recommendations for books that you enjoy ?
Do you think, in the near future, that somehow our descendant may live in society where freedom and rights might be taken away or in danger? Or do you think that's just for books and movies?
Hi Ally,Congratulations on a very sucessful and wonderful trilogy!
I apologise if this question has already been asked:
How much planning do you put into your novels before you write them? Do you spend a lot of time on revision?
What chain of events in our time do you think will create a dystopian world like the one in Matched?
Dear Ally,First off, I loved the book. It was one of the few series that had me completely satisfied at the end. But to the point, have you ever thought about the "after"? Like, what happens next? Marriage, kids, etc.? Have you ever thought of making a short epilogue that gives a taste of what happened after? Or are you the type of author that just thinks it better to let us imagine for our selves, so everybody else can have a different, unique story?
Sincerely and adoringly,
Sahvana
Hello Ally,I have a question about the end of the series. What did they end up voting for? Why did you end it the way you ended it? Did you just want people to interpret how they voted or were you trying to leave it open so you could write more?
How did the idea for the society begin? Was it a setting you'd thought of for a while or was it a stroke of instant genius? Also, Cassia, Ky and Xander are all incredibly strong wolfed characters and are beautiful descriptive and passionate, are they based upon any real life people or are they complete works of fiction?
Abbiexoxo
Dear Ally,I really like your books! You are a fantastic author!
My questions are
1.) Who would you choose, Xander or Ky?
And: 2.) Do you have any tips for writing? :-)
Love,
Maya
Hi, Ally! I have read only Matched. But I'm going to read other parts. When I read book I was so excited! Every character and every event made me worry about it. And I'm in love with this book, because it's perfect! I want to ask you. What did you feel when wrote the trilogy?
Best wishes,
Helen.
P.S. Sorry for my English, I'm from Russia.
Dear Ally,OK first of all i would like to say that i love Matched, it it was amazing how you described everyone and everything especially the way you described Ky. So my question is how did you come you with the character of Ky, what motivated you to write Ky's character? And who do you prefer more Xander or Ky because both of them have such a luring personality and its so tough to chose, you must have had a tough choice to make for Cassia. :)
Hi Ally,I love the Matched books and love them so much! I really want to know how you created your characters. How Xander, Cassia, and Ky's back story all connects was amazingly written. Their development is also amazing!
I really hope these are made into movies soon. They deserve to be!
Micci
(The 12th's my birthday!!)
Ally,Thank you for taking the time to write these books! They have inspired me a lot lately! my question for you is, do you have any future plans to write anymore books from this trilogy, and if not are you working on any other books right now???????
I love the books! Thanks again!
~Sarah~ <3
Hey Ally,
Thanks so much for writing the trilogy and taking the time to answer some of our questions. The books were so hard to put down. I love that you weaved so many real poems and paintings into the story. I also loved how each book, you added another point of view. Each chapter was so well written and I found myself changing my perception of the characters every time another character took over narration.
Did you base the society on an extension of modern societies? Could this ever exist?
Also, would there ever be the possibility of an epilogue or follow up for Xander and Lei? I was really interested in her story, and what would happen to them when they returned to the outer provinces.
Thanks, and I can't wait for more of your writing.
Aly :)

Hey Ally,When writing the character of Cassie who was your inspiration? And what couple was your inspiration for Cassie + Ky
Hi, Ally, I love your Matched trilogy and I think you're a great writer. The twist you added with Nea Lei, Vick and Xander took me completely by surprise.I was wondering how you found the poems you used in the stories. I read both Dylan Thomas' and Tennyson's poem a month or so in class before I read your book. It felt like a big huge woah to me.
I'm also curious on whether you based the Society on a city or a town in real life?
Jay :)
