I don't have any bookworm friends . Don't have anyone to discuss books with except Goodreads members !!
Yea we do and talk a lot... on the phone when we should be doing homework and talking on goodreads when we are doing homework.:D It's sad that some people see books as pages of boring paper.
I am a lone reader also that's why I like the buddy reading finally some one to talk to about the book I'm reading somehow I talked my sister into reading beautiful creature when she was reading over my shoulder while I was chatting on the buddy reads and she is acting like I keeps all my books some big secret that I didn't share with her

We kind of take it to the next level - obsession, which I full heartedly admit to.

Meeting people who dislike books or dislike others who read a lot is pretty much limited to school settings, so don't worry about that part too much.As for bookworms, it depends on your definition. I have a friend who reads anywhere between three and twenty books a year, mostly in the urban fantasy genre, but that means we only really have one good literature discussion every two months on average. I have another friend who reads a bit more (say five to thirty a year), but he reads non-fiction and dystopian fiction, neither of which I'm interested in, so with him there are no literature discussions at all unless it's about a book we both read in high school. Based on the definition, either of them could be bookworms, or neither, but more likely neither, so no, I have no bookworm friends at all outside of the internet. It's not really a great loss though, since the internet is a big place, and bookworms tend to be more comfortable with written words than spoken ones anyways, haha.

Very true. I generally have some friends that don't read or have only read books such as Twilight or The Hunger Games, which is great but they probally would give a book a try if it hadn't been the lastest rage. Which is quite sad but understandable.

What, what do you mean?
I have a few friends who read but sadly they only pay attention to basically the popular series of books, whilst I usually stay away from those types and so we don't really discuss any still I don't mind :)
Same problem here, sadly I have no bookworm friend either. Though one of my friends recommended the Twilight series years ago and that's how I came to get to know YA books. But most of the books I read are not really popular, especially here in Germany, and most of them are not even translated, that's a huge problem for most of my friends. After reading a book I loved, I always consider translating it to just gift it to someone so we could discuss it. I guess that'd be the moment for MY friends to tell me "Isa, you are really weird!". ;-)
I love it here there are so many people to talk about books with and they never give me that stare that says are you done talking about books yet i'm bored but love you enough not to say so
I have one friend who reads a lot, but its mostly manga. And then I have another friend who reads a lot, but its not really the stuff I read, so we only talk about a book a couple of times a year. My other friends don't really read, and if they do its usually only a mainstream book, like twilight or the hunger games. I hate when I make a coment about a book and they're like "Ayla, you're so weird. Why do read?"
i have 4 friends who read the same kind of books as me!! its so crazy, when we fight about a book character or how one of us hate one series and the other one of us love that series it's just amazing! some times we only talk about books when we see each other or even call each other just to tell one of how much we hate and love the series! we even have a book club just the 4 of us, and now we are all reading Warn body's! but even with them likening the same books as me, its always a fight
I have to admit I do like to read the book before the movie comes out now only cause I discovered if I don't then I miss so much but I read all the time not just cause a movie comes out but some of my friends do wait to see if I watch a movie cause they know I have read the book then they like to ask me questions and I'm like read the book and it frustrates them but they love me
:D Jenny is my one and only bookworm friend in the 'real world' hahaha :)I have friends who read but they don't really obsess like I might. LOL
Me has bookworm friends! Some of them are just really, really big fans of Harry Potter/Hunger Games, but I have a few friends who read as much as I do :D

I used to have bookworm friends but they all moved away after grade 8 :(I've tried convincing some other people to read but they say they don't have time or don't read young adult/fantasy/paranormal/etc.
My problem is I have friends who read books, but they don't read them as much as I do. It gets frustrating sometimes
GOOD GOD THIS I LITERALLY THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN MY LIFE!! Like none of my friends will obsess over anything with me. I got 2 people t read TMI and TID BUT THEY ARE NOT BOOKWORMS!! This is painReal pain
But at least I have you guys
:) At my high school at least a quater of people read regularly but they are not really the bookworm/fangirl/obsessive type like I am! It is very sad.
I have one really close friend who went to the same primary school as me, then we went to different high schools, but we still catch up a lot. She wasn't much of a reader until Year 6, when she started reading Harry Potter (we were quite close then) and since (not to boast or anything) I was probably one of the biggest Potterheads in the school I was ecstatic. We went on and on and on talking about it, boring all our other friends to death, although I think it did persuade one of my other friends to read it (we were bookworm friends for a while but then she fell into the popular group and stopped reading). So then after a few months she finished Harry Potter and was devastated.(This is the first friend I'm taking about btw, the one who goes to a different school now but we're still close). So I lent her my copy of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and she gobbled them up. We have this cool system now, whenever one of the next Heroes of Olympus books comes out I buy it and read it and then let her borrow it, its easier than waiting in pain for her to wait for her library to get it and read it, and me not being able to go all excited over it. So then we moved to high school, so I'm not as up to date on what she reads although we catch up a lot and force books on each other, she lent me her copy of The Hunger Games, I have forced her to read Delirium and City of Bones (both of which she loves) and we update each others to read lists when we see each other. She hasn't got Goodreads though, which is a pity, I have recommended it but she hasn't got it.
So thats my best bookworm friend... like I said for a while I had someone else but she went and got popular... I have another friend (me trying to work out how little friends I have :D) who isn't much of a bookworm although if we're in the library and I take a book of the shelf and force it into her hands she'll either put it right back or sometimes borrow it.
I have a bus buddy! She reads, and she takes the same bus as me and a few of my other old friends who I don't really talk much to. She's read Percy Jackson, The Mortal Instruments, The Lorien Legacies and a few others. I irritate her sometimes by leaning over the back of her seat and seeing what bit she's up to, and if I can't see I ask her. She never tells me though, I suppose I am annoying a bit annoying but I'm just excited whenever I see books! At the moment she's reading Halo and she says its great... so I doubt I will ever talk about that with her.
Those are my bookworm friends :) Oh and there's you guys! :D

There are a lot of times when I will see someone reading a book or carrying one, but can't quite figure out what it is, so I ask what he or she is reading. I'm always curious about what other people are reading.
I have total 2 friends that are actually close to me and unfortunately they think i am totally crazy to read books cause why prefer books over movies or series because according to them this is insane well i can't watch movies or series when i am heading over to university or if I am in a boring party or in a family gathering (FYI i prefer ebooks so i do have a kobo app on my mobile i can read whenever and wherever i want..) so yeah it's suck to being only bookworm.

I remember when I had none and was oblivious to Goodreads! It was horrible and awkward. "Hey insert non-bookworm friends have you read insert awesome book?" My reply would usually be "No I dont read. You are so weird Chelsea." Well it didn't really go like that but you get my meaning.
I have tried to teach them our ways but alas it is in vain. They don't understand when I fawn over fictious characters or ramble on about books.
Anyways, who here has this problem?
