Who is better? Dobby or Hagrid?

I want to know what everyone thinks is the best character out of Dobby vs. Hagrid!

Definitely Hagrid. I don't at all like movie-Dobby but book-Dobby is alright and funny at times. He's not as good a character as Hagrid though.
I love them both equally. How dare you.
Hagrid, especially when he's all "Oops, I probably shouldn't have said that", but Dobby's got his funny quirks too.
its just asking do u like harry in childhood or adolescent? harry will always will be harry similarly hagrid and dobby they have their importance
**SPOILER**(In case you havent finished this book yet)I do love them both, but I felt like Dobby had it so horriblly for so long and then him dying in the end was just awful, but I felt like it was an appropriate sacrifice...Hagrid was awesome, don't get me wrong, but my love is much stronger for Dobby and most likely because I always felt bad for him. Even after he was freed most of the other house elves didnt want anything to do with him...I found him rather sad and wanted to adopt him. LOL
Hagrid! Dobby is annoying, sweet, but soooo annoying!
I love Dobby becuase he's soooo cute! But I love Hagrids accent, my mum has it down pat and it's apsolutely hilarious. So I love them both.
Hagrid! Coz it all started with Hagrid LOL (i mean he was the one who FIRST told Harry he was a wizard. THAT was a grand moment and a big role). Anyways what i mean is that Harry most depended on Hagrid through out his years in Hogwarts and trusted him his life even though Hagrid was clumsy and didn't know how to differentiate cute from monstrous.

Both the characters have their unique cuteness.. ;) I mean how can we possibly compare a huge character with a considerable part in the series and a minute character appearing much later. Carrie! Bingo! with your comment! Oops! I shouldn't have said that! lol!

I didn't mean he said those exact words but he often opened his big mouth a lot & spilled the beans unintentionally (like me! i CANNOT be trusted with secrets :( Maybe that's why I like him so much plus his love for animals & the ever odd violent creature :)

When it comes to sidekicks:I guess Hagrid. He's a half-giant and actually could work some magic with his umbrella. Also, his ability to get along with various magical animals.
Don't get me wrong, I think Dobby is a valuable character but out of the two I think Hagrid has the better sidekick qualities. Especially since he can carry Harry around on his (or actually Sirius') flying motorbike, lol.
SPOILERI don't really get the whole obsession with Dobby. Yes, he dies, but so do so many other characters. He's also quite annoying at times.

While I hate having to choose... I'm a Dobby girl all the way.

Dobby is amazing and cute and that's why we love him!!!
You can't possibly have us pick between them because they are two vastly different characters and contribute to the story in completely different ways.
who even asked that question? they are both equally loyal and AWESOME.
I personally like Hagrid better, I've never really been a fan of Dobby just found him annoying personally. It was upsetting when he died, I admit. But yeah. Hagrid haha.
they can't compare, I like them both and they both have their quirks, but Dobby more I guess cause he's so idiosyncratic and different to the other house-elves, and stands up for himself.
Both of them care about Harry and want protect him, although Dobby let it go a little too far in the second book, getting overzealous with his good intentions. Both of them have a good heart and want to do the right thing. Whew! That's a hard choice. Dobby's sacrifice was so touching (and shocking!) yet Hagrid has always been there as well. I give up. I'm going to say. . .Hagobby. :)
While I like them both, personally I would have to choose Hagrid, being an animal lover myself. As some others have already said, both had good intentions and wanted to help Harry in their own way, but still, one could say that you can hardly compare the two. It's a difficult choice.
Tough, but I've got to go with Dobby. I cried so much when he died.
They aren't comparable. They are completely different and I won't compare the two and tell who's the best! Coz they both are! :')
I like em both! They're different in so many ways but they're equally fun to watch and read. So I'd say both :)

I can't choose between two such wonderful characters! Hagrid just has a heart of gold and always has such good intentions. He is so lovable and friendly. Dobby is at first pitiful but his quirkiness makes him just as lovable as Hagrid. He also has good intentions, even in injuring Harry!
Both of them have a clear vision of right and wrong and are incredibly loyal. I simply cannot choose! :)
