Does everyone want to do a group read for March? If so, start nominating here!

I have three nominations; either Bleak House by Charles Dickens, The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, or Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. :-)

Yay Kyle!!!!! :-D

Kristen | 54 comments ooooh, any of them are fine with me. As I have not read all of any:)! Stated Anna Karenina a LONG time ago and then gave up.

Great Kristen!

Looks like it might just be a classic! :-D

Oh man, I'd love to discuss Bleak House! I read a few years ago, so I won't be revisiting it anytime soon, but I'd be very interested in everyone else's input.:)

So far we have two nominations for it. I hope it wins! Everyone has until February 27 to put in nominations.

I hope so, too. I know how much Kyle and yourself are looking forward to it.

Thank you; I hope I do too. This will be my first Dickens novel, so I'm really excited.

It wasn't the 1st Dickens novel I attempted. It was, however, the first one I finished!

message 12: by Holly (new)

Holly | 745 comments Mod
Awesome. Which other ones did you attempt?

Um let's see: A Tale Of Two Cities, David Copperfield, and I think we might have parts of A Christmas Carol in high school, but never on my own. And I don't remember much about it, other than the basic premise.

I see.

Oh, I'd live to read A Tale of Two Cities!!!!!!

It's supposed to be one of his easier ones to get through. Along with Oliver Twist.

Holly | 745 comments Mod
I plan on reading both of them sometime soon.

message 17: by Dustin (new)

Dustin | 1195 comments Mod
I'm sure I will get to them eventually.

Well, I suppose we have three nominations since Kristen doesn't mind which one we read :-)

True.

I guess since no one else has nominated anything that the group read for March will be Bleak House. Is everyone okay with that?

message 24: by Glenda (new)

Glenda (glenda-r) How about The Round House. I've heard positive things about it.

message 25: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 54 comments Bleak House is fine. I have not read Dickens in a while! It will be good to read something different...and as it is classic literature, its a free Kindle download.

Prepare to be challenged with Bleak House, everyone. It's not an easy read, IMO.

Wonderful!

Michelle | 60 comments I'm going to have to pass on this one because of school. I would go with Bleak House too thought. Have heard a lot about it. Should be interesting.

Went ahead and downloaded it ... just in case.

Glenda (glenda-r) Hey, Dustin. I'm going to have to pass on this book. It's tax season and I can't see when I would have time to read, digest and discuss this book. It's on my TBR list, but for later in the year when things settle down.
