Oh Christine it is the new craze in crafting if you like crafts you will love diamond painting it is so much fun. The kits are not that pricey if you are patient you can get them really decent priced but you will need to wait a few weeks from china.

Thereadingbell | 311 comments So the reason I picked up diamond painting cause i suffer from PTSD from my service in the military anyways I saw an advertisement that targeted veterans about diamond painting. So I wanted to try it. It is great it is a craft that helps you relax. I am not going to lie my sleep has gotten better and when I diamond paint I get lost in doing it and my stress levels are lower and my anxiety is much better when I diamond paint. So if you have stressful job or life this is a good craft for that. Better yet you can pop in an audio book and diamond paint how relaxing is that.

That’s great, Susanne! I almost got a personalized one, but went with generic to start. I thought I may never finish it. lol I ended up getting a four season tree and an owl. They are a bit smaller than I expected so will definitely take some attention to detail on my part.

Vicki Willis | 1033 comments I just had to look that up bc I had never heard of it. So of course I bought one, which is horrible bc I went back to school this week and the students come Monday so I am crazy busy!
What website do you recommend buying from?

message 2458: by Amrutha (new)

Amrutha | 10 comments I worked on a pair if peacocks some time back. I bought it from Amazon as I was trying it out for the first time. But, I understand that they carry many more prints on Alibaba.

buy from Hankins store from Ali express they use the poured glued method on their diamond painting. I got a custom done it is a 50 x 95 I literally am only paying 32 bucks for the custom I sent them the picture and they already did it now just waiting for it i the mail it will take about two weeks to get here but I have plenty to work with. For those interested in giving it a try there are sites that let you have one for free just pay shipping. I also have caught some good sales on wish.com.

It is not horrible it is something to do in the evening to relax even if you worked on it for a half hour each day it is a good way to end the day before bed to relax you. I recommend Ali-express specifically hankins store but there are other ones out there. I buy a lot from wish as well.

My first ones I purchased where for free only paid shipping and they are all small. The light makes the difference it is a light pad. It lights it up and away you go. The small ones can be tedious but just relax with it and not worry when it is done and you see the sparkle it will make it worth it in the time you spent.

The personalized one I got is a gift for my step-daughter for Christmas. I am excited about it I had to order now cause it will take me a while to do cause it is so big. It had to be big so it comes out clearer. Hankins store is the best for customs from ali-express do not buy from anyone else a custom anyways. They let you see the rendered and what it looks like before purchase and if there is any problems they will fix anything for you. Really good customer service.

I got the free ones and just paid shipping. It cost me $18 for two. I saw the light but didn’t buy it. I’ll have to check out the prices for those on Amazon. Thanks for the tip on the personalized one. I’ll check that site out if I love the diamond art and I’ll get a bigger one.

I am traveling today, so I’m limited for online access. I am bringing the grandson home. We will be in the car about 14 hours. Thank goodness he is a good traveler! We will be listening to the end of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

He’s 10, Vicki. He was visiting for the summer and were bringing him home to his house this weekend. I think one of his favorite things this summer was gymnastics camp. He loved it.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 800 comments Well Susanne I saw that diamond painting kit at a craft store and I decided not to do that craft because I would get so frustrated and I would rather make bracelets and that’s cool that a little girl has her own YouTube channel called Kickin Cancers Butt and she teaches everyone how to do the diamond painting kit on YouTube

Thereadingbell | 311 comments I wanted to check in over here in this group. I am sorry i have not been active in here lately. I have been busy doing challenges in other groups and surprised myself by reading 75 books this month. I did get City of Ghost read plus book 2 it was just as good as City of Ghosts. I am plugging away with my choice award challenge I think I have 6 books left to hit my mark for the year and I think I might get it done early. I plan on reading the help and finally get to the Jojo Moyes books as well in October. Fun times ahead doing TT I see others are doing that as well. I just wanted to post a quick note to tell everyone that I have been thinking about all of you. I hope your reading is going as good as mine.

The Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes series is what I meant. Yeah 75 books. I listen and work on diamond painting it works for me. It makes my days feel productive and accomplishing a lot. I did actually read a few as well it was not all listening.

I love audiobooks too. That's still a lot of books in one month. Good for you!

I think the Me Before You trilogy was excellent. I think the first one was the best and the next two did not quite have the same magic, but they were both really good too. Hope you love them.

Savanes | 2107 comments 75 in a month!!! I don't think I have read 75 books since the beginning of 2019. Lol. That's impressive.

Vicki Willis | 1033 comments Has anyone looked at their "duplicate book shelf" recently? I think there is a glitch. It says I have 8 duplicates but when i look there is only one edition of the book listed and they are old books that were read a long time ago. Anyone else have this issue?

message 2486: by Savanes (new)

Savanes | 2107 comments Vicki, I just tried and it's the same for me, except I have 20 so called duplicates.

Same here. I have 25. I wonder if they're books that you might have had duplicates of in the past?

I decided to look at my own books to see if I got the same message. Yes, and they say I have 29 dups. In the past I have gone through dups several times and culled out all the duplicates, so now I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Just began checking them out. Oy!
