Happy New Year!
Great way to start off the new year - I received two books for Christmas, then picked up four more from the Audible sale, then 4 more from the year end daily deals through Amazon. Tonight is date night with my hubby. He just suggested that we stop by Barnes & Noble while we're out. :D Happy new year to me!!
Books I got:
Hardcovers for Christmas:
Fear the Dark
Medical Medium: Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal
Audible sale:
The Killer Next Door
The Black Ice
The Never Hero
Lightning
Kindle deals:
As The Crow Flies
Partials
Finding Emma
The Wedding Dress

I never worked out the html coding (I'm sure it's out there with a google search) I just copy and pasted from someone else who was using them

thanks I will try a google search if that does not work I will try the copy paste method
Stephanie - Do you have a Mac? I know on my computer I go to edit, then special characters. The check mark and many other symbols are in there. You just select it and click insert. I'm not sure how similar it is on a PC.

Yeah... I don't remember what year we got mine, but it's really old. It's a big beast. We recently got a new one, because the old one is so heavy it is practically a desktop. lol I brought it in for a repair about a year ago and the guy said, "Oh wow...I haven't seen one of these in forever..." Sad that I've been using the new one for a while now and still giving the old directions because I had it for so long. :)
So, new instructions...on a typical, not ancient, Mac you click on "emoji & symbols" at the bottom of the "edit" drop down, then just click on the symbol you want. I use this for check marks, stars, etc. As Lynn stated, copying and pasting works as well.

Click control and command and space and it opens the emoji & symbols panel

Has this happened to anyone else? (currently copying my whole comment, just in case).

I had no idea :-)
Did you see the Goodreads blog list of 20 Things All Book Lovers Wish Someone Would Say to Them? What do you think? What would you wish someone would say to you? Personally, I'll stick with #3!! I certainly wouldn't mind #6 and I wish my mom would catch on to #20 lol Anyone have something they'd add?

I know! My mom loves to start a discussion when she sees me reading. It's like she thinks you are not doing anything if you're reading, which is weird because she likes to read too. lol

Sad day today. I can't believe that David Bowie & Alan Rickman both died this week. Both were only 69 years old and incredibly talented men that died from cancer.

Yeah, both of these deaths have really got to me. I will miss both of them not contributing to the world of arts / entertainment any more :(

I noticed that too! Scary! And look what he's teaching his kids, if they live long enough to drive themselves.

I just watched the movie trailer for Me Before You... I don't think I'm going to be able to watch it in public! I'm pretty sure there will be ugly sobbing involved. :(

Yeah, I watched that today too.
I will be going to the cinema, I won't be able to wait any longer than that. I don't care if I'm blubbing lol
