Ooh! I like this thread!Just got back from my sister's where my siblings, niece/nephews celebrated my b-day a few days early with leftovers from Thanksgiving. Got some great gifts including a book Angel nightlight & some Lancome. Now, back home with my puppy-cat, watching Shallow Grave, I'm going to finish up the night reading Catch-22 and dreaming of my actual birthday dinner at Brios (more presents and great lamb chops), that's going to happen on Tuesday. My life just seemed to strangely & slowly come around when I finally decided to stop living my teen years in my 30's and get an education and a real job and of course start getting serious about being a constant reader. I wasted a lot of time trying to find happy instead of just being it. Life is great, book buddies. Thanks for the Mic.
Cora, all the best wishes for your birthday and have a great time celebrating, reading and finding your path :)
Perhaps off topic but ...
I received a notification re a thread by Soji Adesanya but the link takes me to a different topic entirely ....

Happy Birthday for Tuesday Cora :)
Sophie, not sure about the link but I do remember removing a thread from that person.

Oh, may I ask why? Because it breached the rules in some way?
Sorry - that sounds super rude but I found the post very odd.

Compris! Merci. I thought it was a female.
Heh, honestly I can't remember .... the amount of self promotion from authors just blurs into one :)
Cora, well said! " I wasted a lot of time trying to find happy instead of just being it." It's amazing what we become (happy) when we stop trying to be what we hoped we might use to be and stop living in our head the years we want to capture from yesterday.
Sounds like this year has been one of your best!
Happy upcoming birthday :-)

Indeed, I find it hard to believe that the year is coming to an end as well, the time has flown by really quickly. On the other hand I love December and all the preparations for Christmas holidays so well, it is finally here :)
December is really busy for me this year with final exams and holidays. I finally graduate this coming summer though, so next December will be awesome! I'm still planning to enjoy the holidays this year, but I can't wait to be done with school and just relax a bit. January through May will be tough (little time for fun reading) because I have 4 classes, plus my internship and my regular job, but at least I can see the light at the end. :)
Thanks Cathie! I'm so glad the end is finally in sight! Looking forward to starting my new journey. :)

All mottos for the upcoming New Year!
Live for today and savour every moment!
Kristie, I hear you. And I wish you all the strenght you need to head to the end of the studies and to the start with new opportunities. I believe it is worthy effort, as I'm on the new path myself. Enjoy!
Thank you, Anima! Good luck with your studies as well.
Angela - lol. Occasionally! Probably not as much as I should. ;) I really haven't read very much this month. I'm hoping to read a bit more once school is on break, but that's pretty much just for the holidays (2 weeks) so we'll see. I've been very grateful for audio books this semester!

Today is my birthday ~ yea! I made it another year, lol (53). Plans for a movie marathon and an aquarium visit and dinner out are all on hold...there is a wicked ice storm happening here and the only way to get anywhere is on your bum! I decided to use my bum to sit on it and read, at least for a while :-)
Happy birthday, Cathie, may your dreams and plans come true, also those short-term (dinner and aquarium and movie marathon ;)). I hug you very warmly!
Have wonderful birthday , Cathie ! Sitting on your bum reading and keeping warm sounds great but I go hope you get to celebrate even if it is postponed a bit .
Happy Birthday Cathie, hope you enjoy your day despite having to postpone the plans.
Today is the first day of my holidays, 23 whole days off! :D
