Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Just thought to mention to you all that although my name has changed, I remain, me. This is my private profile.

Rowena (outofprintwriting) So I thought I would introduce myself ... I'm not an artist, but I work at a regional art gallery near Melbourne. About 10 years ago, I was inspired by an article I read about a National Gallery of Victoria curator going overseas to find works for a Sidney Nolan exhibition. Anyway, it started me thinking about why artworks end up all over the world and I wrote this book about a guy that goes overseas looking for three paintings for an exhibition back in Melbourne. Soon after I went for an interview as an editor at a regional gallery and when they asked me what experience I had in the visual arts, I paused, went slightly red, and murmured 'I've written a novel about a curator ...' Somehow I landed the job!

Anyway, now that I work in the public gallery sector I've learnt loads about art and how the art world works and a lot of this has found its way into my book Searching for Von Honningsbergs. And I can't seem to stop writing about artists now ... I think they fascinate me because they live outside the norm ... I guess anyone who is devoted to their art form, whether they're artists or writers or musicians or whatever, are slightly outside the mainstream ...

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Hi and welcome Rowena. I think a love of art is the most important thing for a position in the industry. I think you are right about the slightly outside of the mainstream too. :):)

Ninys Universe (Ninys_Universe) Hello, I am an artist basically since birth cuz my grandma was awesome :) any who I love books as much as I love creating pieces. I do anything from sculptures to paintings, drawings to sewing, and everything in between. Was taught by a responsible group of women who though I was an adorable child....then I grew up lol but those old ladies still kept at me. So now I have real appreciation for so much that I'm honored to included in a talented club.

I'm always jealous of people who can do sculpture. I'd really like to be able to make idols like I see in my head.

Tamara Kulish | 10 comments Hi, I'm Tamara Kulish, I'm an author posted up here on Goodreads, and just last week I joined up with Fine Art America, and have been uploading some of my artwork and photos for sale as prints and for licensing.

I'd love to know: how many artists are also authors? ...and vice-versa?!

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Hi and welcome Tamara. :):)

Feel free to make a thread for your art work in our: A Thtead for Each Artist:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

To do so click on the small green writing at the top right of the page (under the main title) that says 'new topic'

As to your question I am both an author and a writer, though I choose not to claim or use my goodreads author page, and go under this alias instead.

Tamara Kulish | 10 comments Thank you Little Miss!

Sorry, I'm a little confused... you wrote: "I am both an author and a writer", were you meaning artist and writer?

Do you have a post for your artwork? I'd love to see it! :) Peace!

message 62: by Little (new)

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Whoops, too much on my mind lately. Yes, I meant an artist and an author. :)

This is the thread in this group for my website/deviant art etc here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Taylor (taylorwinder) | 2 comments Hi! I'm Taylor! I made a book. It's called Things I Made In My Underwear. The front cover is (I think) visible in the topic of the post. The back cover is visible on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Things-I-Made-M...

Oh, and some of my other art is up on my site at: http://taylorwinder.com

Thanks for taking the time to look at it and I look forward to getting to know all of you and seeing all of your great work.

Tamara Kulish | 10 comments I like your artwork Taylor! I also like the whole concept of your book! Where did you get it published? I'm interested in being able to publish hardcover art/photo books.

message 68: by Little (new)

Little Miss Esoteric (littlemissesoteric) Great to have you with us Taylor. Looking forward to checking out your links (sorry in the midst of a house move, back and active soon!) :):)

message 69: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorwinder) | 2 comments Thanks, Tamara! The book is self published. I ran a kickstarter campaign at the end of last year to help with the funding of it.

Thanks, Little!
