Rebecca I liked the book. It wasn't my favorite of the series but it was good even though it was much darker and depressing than the others. It think the way the book was tied up in the end made sense with where the story was going. It wasn't one of those endings where "they all lived happily ever after". It provided closure but it wasn't immediate and it wasn't prefect. I thought it was very realistic and kept with the tone of the books. If she wouldn't have wrapped things up the story would have felt incomplete. There has to be an ending.

I'm not gonna lie I did love the "but there are much worse games to play" line.

Jeremy Jackson I loved this book. My favorite of the three. I even liked the ending. It was happy. I wish Finnick could of survived tho. That's the only change I would make. I feel that people will automatically say that "the fist was the best" on general principle. It's only natural. But any honest fan can admit that the surprises and twists in MJ were worth the time consuming slow chapters, or 'fillers' as some might label. The war based action was refreshing and seeing the districts was past due. Great conclusion to a classic series.

kirstin ✿ You're not alone.

When I finished The Hunger Games I wasn't that in love with the series yet. But it grew on me, and eventually I got attached to it. And now I'm obsessed. Even with the movie.

sim Are you kidding me? I finished the series and I'm still obsessed with it. Hunger Games is just incredible!

Olivia I absolutely loved Mockingjay!! My only complaint is one that everyone I've spoken to about it has agreed with, is that the epilogue was too rushed.

Totally agree!

Addee Mockingjay was the best of the three. Awesome!! Loved how much Peeta loathed Katniss, cause I did too.

Haha, same.

Melissa I also agree. This book was the best out of all three.

Carol krüger I did not like how it was all muddled up i could not understand what was hapeining and had to read it 3 times over to understand if katniss died, was unconscious or had an injection placed into her. The book was depressing but i liked how it was the raw truth with no sugar coating it. The book was magnificent and i give the author credit for only a few people can write depressing books and still have "art" in it.

Abbie I loved it. Especially the ending, (before the epilogue), because it isn't saying that everything is perfect, or that Katniss is amazingly happy, and neither is Peeta. But they survived and they had each other.

Natalie Keller You were in no way the only one who loved this book :) I thought it was the perfect closing of the series, and the ending is really haunting. Collins makes a lot of big statements in Mockingjay that were absent among all the action of her first two books. I thought it was fantastic - and might be my favorite one of the series.

Totally agree with you. It was really realistic, not a fairy tail happy ending, and the war was just like the hunger games were happening, and the arena was the whole capitol.

Lizzy Jessica wrote: "I really liked it! Although I have to admit, I was surprised when Katniss killed the rebel leader (can't remember her name) instead of President Snow. I'm still trying to figure out why she did it...."

Jessica, the first time I read the book I was surprised as well! I just finished rereading it, though, and throughout the book there was foreshadowing about Katniss not believing in President Coin's ideals and likening them to President Snow. I just didn't pick it all up the first time. However, I'm still confused as to why Katniss voted yes for the final Hunger Games. I know she said it was for Prim, but I still don't see how that would have been enough for her to vote yes.
