I've been stalled on that one for quite a while because I've heard from so many people that it's not as good. I'm going to have to break down and read it sooner or later so I can continue the series! I'm glad it was at least ok for you.

Brett,

I loved Devil in Winter so much - could be my favorite Kleypas ever. And I've read every one of her historicals :)

I hadn't heard anything about it until I saw a couple reviews when I started a couple days ago. Unfortunately, it looks like the next one might be even worse. That's too bad, since I've really enjoyed this series. Hopefully she can turn it around. :)

I was thinking I'd heard that the next one was better, but I'm not sure. I know I've heard a lot of really good comments about Gone Country though, so hopefully she's back on track.

I don't know what took me so long to get back to this series I love the writng the way it jumps right into the story and action and the whole opposites attract thing.

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Valerie ~Varuca~

These are the books I have read so far:

Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Abigail Roux -- I listened to this audio and STILL devoured it! It usually takes me a at least 3 days to get through audio but I listened to this all day. It was definitely different than the M/M I'm used to reading because the sex really was an afterthought but it was such an awesome story. I immediately got book 2 on audio and started listening to it. Thanks for recommending it. Now I know what everyone is talking about it. :)

Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run, #2) by Abigail Roux --I know you didn't technically recommend this one but I started it right after Cut & Run and loved it too! I'm gaga over Ty and Zane and will definitely be continuing this series. Thanks for getting me started on it.

A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland --I wasn't able to get the computer this week to update you on this one but I did read it and devoured it. OMG, besides the fact that Keiran was awesome and Matt wasn't so bad himself, the story was just amazing. I cried so much my DH said I was going to get dehydrated. LOL, great pick. It's not something I would have ever chosen for myself and I would have really missed out. This will definitely be a reread for me at some point.

I still have these left to read:
Gambling Men The Novel by Amy Lane and Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane .

If I promise to do better with Gambling Men The Novel by Amy Lane will you be up for a BR?

I liked it Kat. I liked that the H was trying to find her inner strength and sex kitten. The H/h were hot together but it was the H's ultimate journey to find her self and her voice that I really enjoyed. A solid 3.5*

Sorry for the delay--lost in a confluence of girl scout cookie duties, preparing students for the test they need to graduate, grading, finishing library books with due dates etc. etc.

I'm going to start with the Canyons of Night because I can't believe I haven't read this yet. I even know where it is. Hope to read more because the month does include a week of break, but will start there.

Well I read To Hate and To Hold and give it 3 stars.

Very different take on the traditional vampire books I've read. Here the two MC's are cursed into a bonding ceremony and are forced to stay in physical contact with each other or they will suffer horrible physical consequences. Normally it wouldn't be and issue but they hate each other so the story evolves from there. The story provides some interesting twists, but I wasn't blown away by the overall plot. Decent sex scenes and secondary plot theme however.

I look forward to reading more winners on your list of recommendations!
