Sarah (saritz) | 157 comments Hello. Here's another situation for an Unknown Book. This http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12... is a Kindle book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Trek-Voy.... How do I recover this book and other future Unknown Book with similar scenarios? Please help. Thanks.

Sandra | 31525 comments Sarah, I know other Librarians who have downloaded the sample and gotten all the information from that.

Bit hard for me to check as that particular book is blocked for me in Australia.

Sarah (saritz) | 157 comments Um, you mean to say I could recover the Kindle book using the Amazon link as my source? Pls correct me if I'm wrong with my understanding.

message 4: by Emy (new)

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments No, you can't take the data from the Amazon website. You CAN download the book (or a sample of the book) and then extract the data from that.

Sarah (saritz) | 157 comments I'm sorry but I don't get it. What do you mean by download? Should I buy a Kindle copy of the book? Is that it? Or where can I download a sample of the book?

message 6: by Devin (new)

Devin Lind (cdlind) | 32 comments Sarah - You can often download a sample of a Kindle book for free. However, it was not possible in this case.

The book has been rescued.

Sarah (saritz) | 157 comments Oh goodie! Thanks Devin!

With regards to the sample download, what are the mechanics for that? When I want to see a sample in amazon I just click the cover and a pop-up screen shows up for the sneek peak. So how can I download?

message 8: by Devin (new)

Devin Lind (cdlind) | 32 comments You click the "Send sample now" button and choose which Kindle/Kindle app you want the sample sent to.
