JRM Library
Felicity was in the back of the library, in the teen section, sitting on one of the bean bag chairs in a corner of the room with a book in hand. She came to the library as no one, skipping or not, showed up there unless it was a nerd needing to work on a paper but even then anyone hardly showed up at the teen section, which was why she found the solitude and comfort she needed. At the moment, Felicity was reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It was a book about a girl during World War Two who just falls in love with books and the words within them. It discussed how she started to steal some books for her own reading pleasures. It was a good book and Felicity read it everyday after school when she came to the library, but she never checked it out afraid that Allen would take it and ruin it and she wouldn't be able to pay the fine for the ruined book. So she sat in the library and read there, where she felt safe from the world. Or so she thought.
Felicity was just turning the page when she heard that voice and that familiar smell of pot. She wrinkled her nose and closed her book, using the flap to mark her page. With Court around she knew that she would be unable to read. She knew that she wouldn't be able to find any peace anywhere like this with everyone showing up. Felicity might as well have gone home and surrendered herself to Allen. But that would not end well. She wasn't to be home until three in the morning. Why, she didn't know but she wasn't going to dare and ask either. Felicity didn't say anything as she picked up her bag and put in on. She put the book on the table and tried to get her way past Court. She was not in a mood for this.
Felicity felt a little tug on her bag as she walked past Court, but she didn't think too much of it assuming that he tugged it to prevent her from going forward. She pushed him away with an irritated glare when he put his arm around her. She was too tired to even give him one of her famous cold glares. "Just leave me alone. I'm not in the mood." She muttered as she stalked off, her irritated look disappearing as she said good bye to the librarian who smiled back at her sweetly and said, "See you tomorrow, Hun." Felicity hoped that Court didn't hear that. Felicity would have preferred her daily visits to the library to be kept a secret.A more tired and dull expression came to her face as she walked away. As she exited the door there was a sound of an alarm. Felicity confused stepped back inside. She remembered the tug of her back pack from Court and saw a book inside. She pulled it out, not even bothering to look at cover, her anger returning but her expression calm. She gave the librarian a book. "I'm sorry, I probably put it there by accident." Though she knew it was anything but. The librarian gave her a nod. Felicity came enough times and hadn't taken anything before so it was alright this time. Felicity was not in the mood for satisfying Court so she walked out of the library.
Felicity was done with this, she was too tired to even care enough to stay angry at Court. He was just another annoyance in her life and nothing could get him kicked off that list. Ever. Unless by some miracle his personality changed over night and maybe if he got rid of Allen. But that would mean he would need to kill him. And Felicity was not that cruel. Felicity shook her head slightly, trying to get the random thoughts out of her mind and focus on whatever it was she was going to do next. There wasn't much she could really do, most things at town involved money that she didn't have to spare. Which was a reason why she came to the library or the park and sometimes the pool when it was open in the summer. "Does it matter?"((I know!))
Felicity rolled her eyes, not putting much of an effort in any other reaction or reply. She turned and walked the other way, her hand unintentionally wrapping itself around her turtle locket as she tried to calm herself down and compose her self. She was getting too loose today. She was slipping and if she slipped chances were she would open her mouth and spill and she did not need that happening. Taking a few shaky breaths before she was 'fine' she checked the time on her pocket watch. Six fifteen. Only eight hours and fifteen minutes till she could go back to the house.
Sitting at one of the back tables of the library, Graham straightened the books in front of him so that all their spines were directly aligned and they all were in one neat little stack. Of course there were only three text books in front of him: Algebra II, Physics, and US Government. All classes that Graham had either passed or was doing well in. This whole tutor thing had been kind of forced upon him. The school counselors calling Aunt Harper after picking him because he had little extra-curricular activities and he had good grades. Not to mention he'd never been in trouble with the school before, and since the school had no idea of his mental health and his side past he was picked to be a tutor. And a tutor to none other than Miss Seraphina Essie Latimer, herself. Sitting where he was though, in the back of a library amid dust and waiting for Seraphina to show up....if she showed up, half the time she didn't bother showing up....Graham had to wonder about her once more. Was if pure luck that he had been chosen to be her tutor? Or was it more? Like some kind of destiny? Letting out a deep breath of a sigh he just kind of leaned back in the chair, going so far back that he was balanced precariously on the back two legs of the chair. His hands rested behind his head as he looked up at the ceiling of the library. The ceiling had that old cottage cheese kind of look to it, no doubt original ceiling from way back when this place was built. Chewing on his bottom lip slightly as he waited for Seraphina to either text him and let him know she wasn't going to show up, oh yeah...he had her number. That didn't mean that he was able to use it for anything other than just tutor stuff though. After all anything else he felt was an invasion on her life. His hair was still messy from having forgotten to run a brush through it and he was wearing a pair of well worn faded blue jeans, black chucks, and a light blue plaid shirt. Nothing fancy or special about him as he sat there.
It was one of those day, you know; that day where time managed to slow down to make the school day feel like it was longer than it actually was. That day where it feels as if everyone around was judging you in every single way possible, even the way you walked down a hall. Though, for Seraphina Latimer, it was true. Everyday was like this. It was her own fault really and despite her devil may care attitude, it would get to her, she simply never showed it. Nope, Sera was infamously known for her 'I really don't give a fuck' image when it came to her fellow classmates, teachers, and even her family. Deep, deep, deep down she did care, but we'll set that to the side for another day.
Leaving the school in her black beat up '63 impala, Sera drove into town for some tutoring session with what's-his-name. Gary? Greg? Something that started with a G and made her think of a snack she used to eat as a child. Those crackers in the shape of a teddy bear. Teddy Grahams? Graham? Graham! That was it. Gary, Greg--where the hell did she even get those names from? Anyways, back on point, she was supposed to be tutored by this so-called genius, but so far it wasn't doing much.
Then again, hardly the poor guy's fault, Sera wasn't exactly the best student. She hardly ever showed up, and when she did show up, she tuned out just about everything he had to say because it was all boring. If some middle-aged man couldn't get all this information shoved down her throat, what made anyone believe that some kid around her age could do any better? Parking in the lot of the library, Sera got out with her book bag slung over her shoulder, and walked into the large building stuffed from ceiling to floor with books; Sera hated books, she wasn't much of a reader--who knew?
A few people looked her way as she walked past, possibly because they were shocked the town's slut was in a library or because of the way she was dressed. Did libraries have a dress code? The way they looked at her, it was possible, not that she would have dressed accordingly anyways. Sera was "dressed" in a short black skirt that barely covered her bum, a red top that could pass more for a bra rather than a top, but at least she was wearing a gray jacket to cover her up a little, though it was unbuttoned so it didn't make too much of a difference. As she headed towards the back of the library to the tables there in her worn out vans, Seraphina would wink at a few boys who would gawk at her, knowing exactly what was on their minds. Yet this time she didn't stop to flirt with them, deciding she would be kind and show up for her tutoring session on time for a change.
Reaching the table where Graham sat with all those text books, Sera rolled her eyes and took a seat right next to him. "Surprise, I'm here," she sighed, sounding none too happy to be there.

Well to be honest about things....Graham hadn't expected her to show up and with her sudden appearance in the chair next to him, followed by her sarcastic comment his balance failed him. Tipping backwards in the chair he fell to the floor in a none too graceful matter and when he looked up at Sera he didn't act all too phased that he fell over. Although the fall had made quite a large clattering noise and several more people were looking over, more so than just the male admirers that had been checking Sera out. That were still checking her out, thinking their chances were better now that the guy she had met with fell out of his chair and onto the ground like a spaz. A frown tugged the corners of his lips down as Graham pulled himself up to his feet, the chair soon upright once again as well. He paused and then looked at Sera more closely, actually taking a moment to notice what she was wearing. Usually he didn't pay that much attention to what she was wearing. Today though he did and what he saw made him internally roll his eyes. Externally he just made a sort of 'hurummph' noise of disapproval before reaching over and doing up her jacket. At least that way some of the guys would stop gawking, and perhaps it would help deter the possibility of distractions. Still.....Graham hadn't entirely let her appearance escape his attention and while he seemed indifferent to her revealing dressing manner, he had to admit that a part of it was rather thrilling. Of course he would personally prefer her to dress up more. That way he wouldn't have to deal with so many guys staring at her like she was a piece of meat or something.
Walking around the table he carefully took the seat opposite of Seraphina. It was almost as though he was saying he didn't want to sit that close to her. What a lie. Still he had to keep things professional and looking up at her he could already see that familiar cloud starting to form in her eyes. The 'zoning-out' look her eyes got the last few times she actually showed up. Sighing he just folded his hands in front of him and raised a brow. "Why are you here, Sera? You don't care about your grades, you don't care for reading, you don't care about me, so why are you here? Just bored? Because honestly, if you're going to end up wasting my time by zoning out like you do in your classes, then I'd rather you just not show up at all and I can actually do something I like."
Yeah. Blunt. That was Graham, and while he wasn't harsh in his tone at all it could come across as him being insulting. Of course, he didn't know for sure that she didn't care about those things. He didn't know for sure what she liked, but he wanted to make a point to her that by wasting both their time on these pointless study sessions. It wasn't helping anyone out. Personally he'd rather be able to go home and play with Acqua or something than be stuck waiting around at the library all the time. Watching her, Graham had a bit of what others described as an 'intense' look. His eyes seemed to give off that feeling that he was staring into your soul when he looked into your eyes and to be truthful....Graham could've spent all day staring into Sera's eyes. Just being around her was a bright point in his week. Which was why he had never spoken so rashly to her before this little event.
Many guys were looking Sera's way, but she didn't acknowledge any of them, those unique blues focused solely on her tutor. She raised a brow at him when he did up her jacket but she left it as is, letting him have this for now.
Graham was an interesting guy. At least Sera thought so when she bothered to pay attention to him, which was rare but does happen. He wasn't exactly the most attractive guy in the world or even in Salem, but he passed for cute at least in her eyes, which was better than flat out ugly. Right? He was simply cute with a hint of a boyish charm around him. A bit too cute, until of course he opened that trap and words start tumbling out. For the most part Sera ignored whatever he said, since half of it went over her head anyways, but this time it was hard to ignore since they were direct questions. She wasn't exactly offended by what he said or by the way he said it; worse things have been said to her that when he was blunt with her it simply rolled off her thick skin--being the way she was, Sera couldn't afford to be hurt by every little thing that was said to her. Though that intense gaze rattled her a tad.
Getting up from her chair, Sera dropped her book bag to the floor with a smirk, a look in her eyes that told him she was up to no good. When was she ever up to good anyways? Been years she's done anything remotely good--at least as far as most people knew.
"What's wrong, Graham cracker?" It slipped out of her mouth, she didn't even pause to think about it, but if she had it wouldn't have made a difference. She knew nothing of Graham and his past.
Climbing up on the table, Sera began to crawl towards him on her hands and knees, something most men in that library were already fantasizing about. Anyone who happened to be behind her right them were getting one hell of a view of her perfectly round bum, though no one should be surprised if a crowd started to gather, not that Sera noticed as all her attention was focused on Graham--not that she would have cared. "Who says I don't care about my little Graham?" She pushed the textbooks to the side once she reached him. Sitting back down on her rear with her legs folded under her, Sera slowly undid each button of her jacket as if she was stripping for him--sad part of this scene, Sera wasn't even drunk. Once she unbuttoned it, she pulled the gray jacket off and tossed it to the side before leaning forward so that her face was just barely an inch away from his; she could practically see that his eyes weren't simply plain browns as they seemed. "I love being here with you. Things are much more fun when you're around." Sera leaned in a little more almost looking as if she was going to kiss him on the spot, but her pale lips curled into a smirk as she pulled back, a laugh escaping her as if that was the last thing she would ever be caught doing.
"You used to be fun, Graham, when did you get a stick up your ass?"
(omg that was crap i'm so sorry x.x)

The moment that Seraphina got that glint to her eyes, the one that told him right away she was planning something Graham was instantly on edge. That feeling didn't ease any when she started climbing up on the table, of course his eyes were cast over her shoulder at that point. He wasn't watching Seraphina seductively crawl across the table. He was watching the guys that were staring at her butt and practically foaming at the mouth. Finally though the 'Graham-Cracker' comment registered and his eyes went back to her to find that she was now quite a bit closer to him. When she commented about him being 'her little Graham' it took all of his willpower not to jump to his feet in outward protest. He wasn't hers! He certainly wasn't Little either! Not to mention he was pretty damn sure she didn't give a flying flip about him and his emotions or thoughts at all, so her comment wasn't really all that important to him at all. Of course those thoughts were replaced with a clear, What the hell is she doing? When she started to take off her jacket, undoing each button slowly as if she was stripping or something. Now that wasn't even the most surprising part as she suddenly leaned in towards him her face mere centimeters from his. Distantly he heard the sound of her jacket falling off to the side but he was too busy looking into her eyes, trying to read what was going on in there. But much like Seraphina herself, her eyes were a complicated mess too hard for him to decipher in one moment, as the next she was leaning even closer as if she was going to kiss him. Naturally his first thoughts about that was, Damn it I'm going to have to lean back and fall to the ground to avoid this.... Just a typical teenage boy thought.
Thankfully he needn't have worried as the next moment she was pulling away and making her comment about how he used to be fun. At her words and with her pulled away he found that he was able to breath easier. That he no longer felt like he would have to run away from her at any moment. Although that relief turned to anger at the guys staring at her and he rose to his feet abruptly shooting a look dark enough to rival Alexis Quinton as he picked up his jacket and then promptly and somewhat forcefully pressed it on her shoulders. Not hard enough to hurt her, but enough to make it clear she should cover up.
Keeping his eyes on her male entourage he snapped at them, "Maybe you should all go take care of your boners watching cheap porn because you obviously can't handle even looking at a pretty girl. Chances are you'll never be with a girl like her so you might as well run off now and go blog to all your friends about the experience." He snapped and remarkably the guys seemed to slink off. At the very least somewhat intimidated by Graham's height.
There was a moment where he stood watching after the guys dispersed and it seemed as though that was all he was going to say on the matter. But it wasn't and Graham turned his attention on Sera. There was still that mad look on his face, softening slightly though when he had turned to her. Still it was clear he was irritated. "Don't go parading around like your some Class D Slut or something, Sera. You're in a public library, at least show a shred of respect to me and not act like that. It doesn't just effect you. Not to mention I don't like being ridiculed. You came here to ridicule me, fine. This session is over." He frowned and picked up his textbooks making it clear he was intending on leaving her there.
Walking off a few steps he paused remembering her question and then turned and walked back over by the table, looking down at her. Even on the table he was still a good height taller. "And I got the stick up my ass right after January 15th." He didn't bother mentioning a year. She wouldn't care either way so there was no point. Right?
Again he paused and it took another moment of silence before he sighed and then rolled his eyes. "Are you ever going to actually take these sessions seriously? I mean, if you aren't going to ever actually care about them then let's both just stop them, Fire-Angel." Oh yeah, he hadn't missed the Graham-Cracker comment. She wanted to give him a nickname? Fine he would give her one right back. Watching her curiously he waited for her answer, his books hanging at his side as he waited.
[not even crappy xD]
Had she gone too far this time? Sera wondered this as she watched Graham grab his things as if he was about to leave. He was interesting but so strange at the same time, actually he was pretty damn confusing. She couldn't make heads or tails of him. He acted like he didn't care about her, but she has seen him try to help her. She was well-aware of that much--not everything went right over her head; after all, she wasn't as stupid as she acted half the time, no doubt all the drugs and alcohol has has killed off more than a dozen brain cells by now. But still. It wasn't too hard to see what was going on here. So many people over the years have tried to help her that it was easy her for her tell when another came along, but it was too late to help her...
Did he finally realize this? Did he finally come to terms with this? For a moment she thought so, she hoped so because in reality Sera wanted him to stop. She needed him to stop. When people cared for her, nothing good came out of it for either end, so why wouldn't he stop? Didn't he know what happened to those that came too close to her?
As Graham told the horny guys off, Sera sat there and listened. She didn't need to watch since she could imagine the look on his face as he snapped at the guys, none of which Sera cared much about. Instead she decided to focus on the fact that he called her pretty. Really? Did he call her pretty? Was she pretty? Maybe she was to guys who were drunk off there asses. Maybe she was before her life went down the drain. But now she was pretty sure she was shit-faced ugly; she was ugly on the inside, nothing pretty left. At all. So why call her pretty? Was he delusional? Well he must be, that much she has figured out so far on her own. And what did he mean by telling them they had no chance with her? Every guy in town had a chance with her and they probably have taken that chance. Sera was loose. She was a whore. No secret about that.
When Graham turned his attention to her, Sera slowly turned her blue gaze up to him but there was a small grin on her lips. He was mad at her. He wasn't the only one. He wouldn't be the last one. There were so many people out there; all ready to hate her, to hurt her. "Class D Slut? That's the highest grade I've ever gotten in anything," she murmured. Slipping her arms through the jacket sleeves, she pulled it close around her body before getting off the table even as he talked about something again.
No respect? Ridiculing him in public? How could she be so mean to him? Oh right, it was the only way to push him away. At least that was what she hoped. But when he began to walk away but stopped and returned, and then stopped again, she knew she needed to try harder. Yet...why was there a part of her that didn't want to push him away. Deep down, so very deep down inside her, Sera didn't want whatever this was to end. And not just because she was entertained by Graham, but there was something else there. Part of her knew what it was but that very same part of her didn't want to ever acknowledge it.
No.
Not.
Happening.
Ever.
"Fire-Angel?" Sera grinned. "I'm not an Angel, any kind of Angel for that matter, Graham Cracker. But I like it." She walked around him and shook her head as she picked up her book bag. "When do I ever take anything seriously?" she sighed, unsure why he bothered asking. Running a hand through her thick black locks, Sera made her way back to Graham; it was a little funny seeing her stand next to him since she was clearly shorter than him, only standing at 5'4" but that didn't faze her as she looked up at him. Not entirely sure what was running through her mind, Sera placed a hand on his arm, which felt strange to her so she quickly dropped her hand back to her side. "Depends I guess, are you asking if I care about school or if I care about you?"
Her eyes widened for a millisecond by what she said but she quickly turned away and began walking away back towards the doors. Everyone was looking at her, judging her as she walked past, but Sera didn't have her head as if she was ashamed by what happened. No, that wasn't how it worked with her. Sera held her head up high as her hips swayed seductively from side to side, drawing more attention to her as if everyone there wasn't already peering over their books at her. Though about half-way towards the doors Sera paused and casted a glance Graham's way, but she didn't say anything as she resumed walking away. A small thought nagged at her irritatingly... would he follow her?
...she hoped so.
(Ok total fan of graphina now. just yes ok. love it<3 xD)

Graham blinked and had watched her as she strode across the library. No he wasn't like the other guys staring at her ass the entire time, he was watching the back of her head, a bit mesmerized by the way her dark silky ebony locks had a slight swing to them when she walked. Of course that was silly, to be enchanted by hair and he shook his head as though trying to clear water from his ears. More like fog in his brain though. His mind was still twisting the question she had asked before she sauntered off. Why would she ask what she had? It was obvious he was talking about school. Right? Still he couldn't quite ignore that his arm had tingled when she touched it, like when his limbs fell asleep and got all tingly afterwards. Only....with Sera it wasn't entirely annoying and unpleasant. Still, it was odd and it was partly the reason why he hesitated before he shoved his textbooks in his bag and swung the black Jansport backpack over his left shoulder. Dammit. She's already turning to be a bad influence on me.... And she was, because at that moment, Graham did something he never did. He ran through the library and chased after her.
Ducking around people who were stupid enough to wander directly in his path he had to admit running in a library was harder than it sounded. Still, he didn't stop until he reached the doors and pushing them open took the steps three at a time until he was standing right next to Sera. Clearing his throat slightly as though he had been walking beside her the entire time and they had just stayed silent he took her hand. Not in a forceful way, just in a light grasp so that she would stop walking while he caught his breath.
After a moment he was able to breathe easy again and he opened his mouth to speak before pausing realizing he was still holding her hand. Shutting his mouth he let go of her hand and shoved his hands in his pockets before starting to speak again. "Fire-Angel, doesn't meant you're Angelic. It's your name. It's derived from the biblical word Seraphim which meant 'Fiery Ones' in Hebrew. It also refers to an order of Angels. Hence, Fire-Angel." He explained easily, that was one thing Graham did. When he was feeling a bit nervous. Spout out some random facts about stuff, it was one of the odd ways that he could make himself feel more confident about things.
There was another pause and he seemed to think about how to phrase something and his eyes shifted towards the sky as he bit his bottom lip while he thought. This was odd, all he wanted to say was that he had been talking about school. But he couldn't seem to say it. Like it was some kind of lie or something. Rocking back on the heels of his feet slightly he finally sighed after about a minute of silence between them and then nodded more to himself than to her. As if he had come to an agreement with his thoughts or something.
With his eyes shifting back towards her he let out a soft breath, like a tiny sigh, before he started to talk. "When I was talking in the library. I meant school and your grades. But now I just want to know if you care about your future. If you care about something other than just partying and drinking and living that lifestyle. And no I don't think you care about sex in the slightest, because from what I know you've never gone past second base without being completely buzzed. To be honest you can probably drink more than I can, and I know because I used to be at all those parties." That much was true. Graham had been at all the parties. For awhile there anyway. Of course that had all stopped, but he had been there for a bit. He'd seen Sera. He also knew how to tell drunk Sera from Sober Sera.
"So can you just name one thing that you care about?" He asked her, his voice dropping a volume notch softer. Looking into her eyes his own were practically pleading with her, his eyes searching hers for something. As for what he wasn't even sure, but he knew that Sera was good. Deep down he knew it. She was just lost, and she needed some guidance to get back on the path. Guidance he was determined to offer. He just had to know that she cared about something. That she wasn't completely lost to him and the world.
[Haha me too. I love them. ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ) )
Once Seraphina was outside, she headed for her car with her head still held high. Nothing and no one could bring her down, except maybe herself—she was her own destructive force. That thought made her smile but frown at the same time. Was this a good thing or a bad thing? Did it mean she was strong or weak? Or simply crazy? 'Obviously crazy. Why the hell does this even matter? You are who you are, Sera. And you are a party loving whore. Why question it?' Her mind reasoned with her and she would normally accept that with that infamous Sera smirk of hers, but there was something in her that was still questioning it. And it was all thanks to her cute little tutor, who was insanely tall. It was because of him that she was even asking herself these questions. 'Graham, Graham, Graham...why can't he just leave me alone?'
Sera's mind bounced all over the place. She thought about the last thing she said to him in the library. What was she thinking? Obviously she wasn't thinking. At all. What the fuck? 'Seriously, Sera, seriously?' Why did she go on and say that to him? It might make him think that there was a chance she cared about him and she didn't. She couldn't. Sera wasn't capable of caring about anyone except herself, it was how her world worked, it was how it stayed in working order. If she wanted to get through life, get through these last couple months of hell in Salem, she needed to keep her little universe functioning so she wouldn't completely loose it.
All the while she was thinking, Sera never noticed Graham running after her that was until he caught up with her. Without warning, Seraphina was jolted out of her thoughts, suddenly facing reality when she felt a hand on hers in a gentle grasp, forcing her to come to a stop. At first she simply stood there, not facing him as her eyes widened in surprise as her gaze landed on his hand holding hers. It wasn't the first time a boy has held her hand, but when a boy held her hand it was to lead her to the bedroom, not to stop her to just talk to her. What was it about him that always caught her off guard? She hated it. She hated him. Why wouldn't he just go away? Just disappear from her life so that her world wouldn't crumble around her. In fact, Sera was so close to just telling him that. So close, but quite not there yet.
It was nearly impossible for her to say it to him when she finally raised her eyes to look into those chocolatey brown eyes of his. He was rambling about his nickname for her, but she didn't really listen. Well she sort of listened and by the end of his little fun fact, there was a hint of a smile playing around on her lips. Why was he so damn cute?
It was sickening.
Realizing his hand was no longer holding hers, Sera took a step back from him as if he was sick with something and she was afraid she was going to catch it. And the more he talked, the more she wanted to just run to her car and drive away from him. He cared. She could see it plainly in those beautiful warm brown eyes.
And it scared the fuck out of her.
At his questions, Sera took another step away from him. "Graham, stop." She crossed her arms in front of her almost defensively, as if that would deflect all his questions. However at his last question, the way his voice dropped, the way his eyes searched for something that was long gone by now--it took everything in her to not shove him away from her, physically.
What answer did he expect from her? What did he want her to say?
Did she care about school, her grades? Hell no.
Did she care about her future? She didn't know.
What future did she have?
Was there one for her that didn't involve her dying young? No doubt she would overdose at a party one day or maybe in an alleyway. Or perhaps...even suicide...
'So can you just name one thing that you care about?'
Seraphina bit down on her tongue, scaring herself when she almost blurted out 'you'. What no. No. She didn't care about him. Nope. Not even when hell freezes over. Shaking her head, Sera looked away, unable to handle his gaze any longer. "Graham Cracker, you know more than anyone that I don't care. Partying, having sex, drinking, smoking--that's all I know how to do anymore. It's all I need in my life. You used to go to those parties, before you became boring. You remember what it was like, don't you? I love it like that. You left but I don't plan on leaving. I don't care about anything or anyone. So just...stop." I'm too lost to be saved.

Graham winced slightly at being called boring. Sure he was practical but he wasn't completely boring....was he? I mean ouch. What a negatively connotative word to be described with. Listening to her explanation though he couldn't help but silently object. Liar. You're lying. If you liked sex or smoking you would do it more so than when your drunk off your ass. If you liked doing all that stuff your eyes wouldn't be so....broken looking. So sad. Stop lying. Just listening to her lie like that to him made him clench his hands into fists in his pockets. His nails dug into the soft tender flesh of his palm and while it wasn't hard enough to break skin it was hard enough to clear his mind. The pain worked sort of like a fog light, getting rid of all those hazy thoughts and mis-matched ideas. That was why he had started cutting so long ago. That was why he had enjoyed the pain. Why he had provoked people....why he had been so foolishly stupid and moronic. And yet....he wouldn't take a moment of it back. Why? Because all that stupidity and moronic actions lead him to something that he felt was good in his life.
Seraphina.
All those idiot behavings lead him to her. Yes he wasn't stupid. He knew that she didn't like him. He knew that she probably didn't give a rat's ass about him. But he hoped that he might be able to help her. After all....every time he looked into those bottomless pools of brilliant of ultramarine he couldn't help but see it like a flashing neon sign. That she needed someone to be there for her. Someone that he never had.
"I didn't leave, Sera. I'd have been completely insane to leave. Having screwed up friends who used me was better than being a friendless loser. But apparently I wasn't good enough. I got kicked out and then I moved on to other things." Graham hadn't entirely missed her emphasis on the word, 'anyone', what did she expect? That he had been hoping she cared about him? C'mon he'd have to be an idiot to think that was ever possible. Besides. She so wasn't his type.
Long dark locks of obsidian that were impossibly thick and soft looking. Even when snarled from a night of partying they were still alluringly complex. Not to mention her pale skin that seemed to make her bright eyes and dark hair stand out so much more. Don't even get him started on those full thick lashes of hers that when she batted them slowly he swore that the world stopped spinning for a moment just to pay homage to that perfect pleading look of hers. And her lips- her light pink lips that seemed to always be on the verge of curling into an amused smirk. Her famous teasing smirk. But who cared.
She was so not his type.
"Can you honestly say you don't care about anything else? Nothing? Not anything?" Graham asked again hoping that she'd at least give him something. A movie she liked. A book she wanted to read. A store she couldn't wait for to open. Something other than just those stupid lies. It was practically an insult to him and he had to bit his lip to keep from saying anything. To keep from calling her out on her actions. He just hoped she wouldn't push him a way. Maybe he was being pushy....maybe he should back off....
Sighing he shook his head and before she could answer his question he held up his hands in a gesture of surrender before nodding to her. "Okay. Fine. I get it. You like to party. How about we make a deal?" He offered hoping that Seraphina had curiosity in her blood. Praying that she did. Relying on it, really. He only hoped that she would take him up on the offer as he silently spoke in his head. C'mon, Sera....take me up on the deal. Ask me about it. C'mon show that you have some sort of thought left up in that pretty little head of yours....not that it's above average looking or anything....because I totally don't think about you as being unnaturally pretty......
Looking at her with his eyes he waited patiently for her response, hoping she didn't turn tail and run like she appeared to be on the verge of doing. To be honest it had hurt a little. To see her step away from him after he touched her. Like he had a disease or something. It hurt....he wasn't going to lie. But he knew better now. Don't touch Sera unless it was absolutely necessary. He learned his lesson and now he stayed where he was. Careful to give her the space she seemed to need. Although...she never seemed to need this much breathing space around other guys. Was it just him? Was he that ugly? He'd always thought he was average at least....but was he like deformed or something?

(@Jay: I cannot even begin to express how much I love Graham. Like seriously. I can't. Aalkdhfskhfui;kjgh so amazing)
What was he talking about? Why wouldn't he just stop it already? Go away, please. I can't do this anymore. Why are you so fucking insistent? Why can't you just leave me the fuck alone? It's too late. You are too late to save me so just stop it!' Sera wanted to scream this at him in hopes that it would scare him away. She didn't need to be saved, she didn't want to be saved. Not that he would understand, now would he? No one understood Sera, hell she didn't even understand herself about ninety percent of the time. 'What is there to understand? I'm a bitch who likes to have sex and party well into the wee hours of the morning. That's all there is to me. That's all. Nothing else. I'm shallow and I'm damn proud of it.'
Was she? Was she really?
No.
Seraphina hesitantly turned her attention back to Graham, once again loosing herself in those warm brown eyes of his. Those eyes that told her things that made her want to run away, but also made her want to be just a little closer to him. 'Whoa whoa what?' Never before has she put so much thought into a guys' eyes before. Though there was more to her Graham Cracker than just his eyes. It's already been stated that there was this boyish charm about his appearance. Maybe it was that one dimple on his right cheek when he smiled; it was just on that side. A little odd but adorable. Then there was his messy hair that looked as if he didn't even know what a hair brush was, but it worked for him. It really did. Somehow he managed to pull it off without looking like some hobo.
Sera wasn't only about hot guys with six packs, she noticed the cute ones too, but it never mattered in the end. Boys will be boys. They all wanted one thing in life and that was sex. And Sera was ok with that because if a guy ever tried to want anything more out of her, it was time for her to head for the hills. Oh boy, this one was trying to get something more out of her, he was trying to get her to care again as far as she could tell. Did he want her to care about him? Was that his goal? Or was it for her to simply care about life again? Sera couldn't tell and it made her feel terribly confused.
She really needed to cut him out of her life. He shouldn't even be in it. Seriously? This tutoring thing has been going on well over a few months now, but none of the sessions--the ones she bothered to show up to at least--ended like this before. Except this one hasn't exactly ended yet, has it? Well the "tutoring" part was over, this was the first time they just...talked after one. Normally it ended with her hooking up with some guy in the library to piss Graham off, or simply going home without stopping to talk to him. Though, technically, he stopped her to talk--he actually ran after her to talk, to ask her all these questions that she didn't want to answer truthfully.
What's changed? Why today of all days was she sticking around? No matter how much she tried to come up with an answer, she couldn't figure it out.
'Just turn around and get into the car. No wait, first tell him to fuck off then walk to the car.' She told herself. Sera nodded her head to herself as if she really was going to do it, but she didn't do it. Instead, she sighed and rolled her eyes, smiling that infamous smile of hers.
"I care...," she mumbled, "about myself. I care about having the best time possible while I'm still young...while I'm still alive." Seraphina paused and thought about what he said earlier about the parties, how he had been kicked out--so it hadn't been of choice then? What did that say about him? "Now tell me, if you hadn't been forced out that lifestyle, are you saying you would have stayed? You would still be partying, smoking joints with the rest of us?" She tilted her head at him curiously, actually intrigued by what he was saying for a change. However, she still should have turned around and walked to her car without another glance his way.
"Deal? I'm listening, I guess." Sera kept her distance, she kept her arms crossed in front of her--she wasn't so sure she wanted to hear him out. But those eyes, those brown eyes pleading with her to listen to him, how could she not ask him about it? Her heart leaped into her throat, making it nearly impossible for her to breathe easily as she waited for him to continue. No way this would turn out good, at least for her. It probably would have something to do with her giving up the party life for some time, wasn't that how all deals worked out in this kind of situation? As far as she knew, yes. It was the only way things worked. Although, with Graham, who knew what his deal would actually be about; after all, he didn't exactly fall in with the rest of the crowd.
It made her wonder, would he actually be able to save her? Would he accomplish something where so many have failed? Who knew? Seraphina would have to wait and see. At this point all she could do was stand back and wait. Though she hated waiting, so as Graham took his sweet time to answer her, she tapped her foot impatiently.

At this point all she could do was stand back and wait. Though she hated waiting, so as Graham took his sweet time to answer her, she tapped her foot impatiently.
Graham shook his head when she mentioned that he'd probably still be hanging around, getting high off drugs with the rest of them. "No. I'd probably have gone through with killing myself." He shrugged a shoulder at her. In his mind his past wasn't a big deal. It certainly wasn't anything that he went through great lengths to hide. It was just a part of him. Granted it wasn't a very good and happy part, but he had to go through it to get where he was. That was enough for him. Without his past he wouldn't be where he was, so he didn't think his past was anything shameful. "Alright. Deal is this." Graham had finally taken his hands out of his pockets, and now he ran one through his hair rubbing the back of his neck nervously afterwards, obviously he was clearly aware of how little Sera wanted to stick about and hear him out about this. I mean sure he knew all their sessions before ended in either her storming off, or her making out with some guy in the bookshelves.....but he was tired of that. Tired of just watching her walk off all the time, after all....senior year was almost over. He had to get a move on if he ever wanted to make an impact in her life.
Dropping his hands to his sides he smiled slightly as he spoke, making it known that while this was the deal. She could walk away from it if she wanted to. "Okay, you spend one day with me. One simple day, I pick what we do and anything I say goes. You can't run off if you get mad or something." He paused letting his words fully sink into her brain before he continued, "And in return, I'll spend one night with you. I'll go to whatever party, drink whatever, smoke whatever, i'll live the roaring party life for one whole night if that's what you want." Again another pause before he held up his hands in a gesture for her to wait, as though he had a condition....which he did. "Only rule is this: No romantic notions between the two of us."
Graham said it will full serious-ness too. He didn't even blink at his words, as though he actually thought Sera might try something. Well she might if she got drunk enough. However he would stop her. He didn't want drunk Sera....psssht, what was he talking about? He didn't want Sera at all. She was just a girl he was trying to help get back on her feet again. Nothing more.
There wasn't much for him to do while he waited for her to answer him and so he just kind of stood there, watching her. Wondering why she always seemed so keen to run away from him. She always left their sessions as if she was in a hurry, and even now she looked ready to bolt at any moment. It was silly to him, after all he'd seen some of the guys she'd hooked up with....and he knew for a fact he was better than most of those guys in the looks department and in the hygiene department. So why did she always run away? He wasn't very scary...was he? He didn't think so......
[sorry crappy post Dx]
(omg not crap at all xP liar)
Was it bad that Sera wasn't fazed at the mention of suicide? Probably, to an extent it wasn't surprising. Not that she ever imagined Graham to commit suicide, but what other escape was there to a life like this? Sure people could leave, but people would be lying if they said it's easy leaving a scene like that to go face the real world. If she had been kicked out like Graham there was no doubt she would have overdosed in order to escape her life again, but the longer she stayed in the party scene the urge to reach for a knife or even a gun grew stronger with each passing moment. It wasn't a life, she knew that much, but it was the only life she knew. And it was a life that scared her and hurt her on a daily basis.
"I see," was all she said in response to that.
Then he went on yammering about the deal. Seraphina listened in amusement, her lips already curling into a smirk as he spoke about her spending a day with him, doing whatever he wanted them to do that day. It was basically a date. He was asking her out on a date, but not asking her out at the same time. She heard what he said at the end, something about no romance between them, which she was fine with because romance was for dewey-eyed losers.
"A day...with you?" Well this was a different kind of deal. Though she was sure it was still a very thinly disguised date, which amused her even more. "These tutoring sessions aren't torture enough so you want me to spend a day with you? Doing whatever you want to do? And I can't even walk away?" She knew the answers to all these questions, so she didn't even wait for him to answer them. "How do I know you're not some sick pervert under all that innocent cute boy thing you have going on? Seriously, Graham, I don't know you well enough to just spend a day with you..." Sera took a step towards him despite her entire body and mind screaming at her to just leave it there and run home. "But I don't know any of the guys I sleep with anyways, so I guess that isn't really a valid argument on my part." She shrugged, taking another foolish step towards him.
Her eyes darted to her car, every fiber of her being itching to just get in and drive away from him. He even said back in the library that if she wasn't going to take the tutoring sessions seriously may as well end them, he has better things to do and so did she. So she would never have to see him again after this. But no, Sera enjoyed torturing herself, confusing her brain, breaking her own heart...
"Fine. One day. I'll do whatever you want to do for the entire day, where your words are law. And you will do whatever I want to do the entire night, where my words are law."
'Stupid Sera, what are you doing?' She sighed internally, but decided it was better not to think it over.

[was too crap xD gaaah......Graphina. Ship it so hard.]At the sight of Seraphina's lips curling into a smirk, Graham tensed slightly. This was weird. This meant that she was happy about something....what was she happy about though? What had he done to make her so pleased seeming? Did he mess up somehow? He didn't think so...He didn't flirt with her.....or did he? No. He would know if he was flirting. Why did she seem so damned pleased all of a sudden? Oh.....she was already planning hell for him with that night...the night he would have to listen to her.
Either way he nodded and smiled at her, "Glad to hear that you agree. So that means that we can hang out....Wednesday. I can skip school for the day, and you really don't seem to care much anyway so I highly doubt that you would mind missing the day." He shrugged and then nodded at her. Outwardly he was leaning away from her unconsciously, as though trying to make more space between them without having to step away from her and make it obvious that he didn't want to be so close to her.
Still....being that close to her? It made him nervous and after a moment he swallowed nervously before flashing a grin at her and then nodding at her. "Okay...so uhhh. Wednesday." He nodded and then turned and strode across the parking lot of the library towards his car. He was practically jogging with the speeds that he was buzzing off at. After all he really didn't want her to get any closer to him and he was hoping that she would just sort of go along with things. However....he really didn't want to deal with being nervous around her. Why did he always feel that way around her? It didn't make sense. There was no logic to it.
As he walked off he felt a slow grin spread across his face. He really couldn't explain why but he felt good inside. Like a mini sun had just been created in his chest. He really couldn't be excited because he was hanging out with some girl right? That was silly....wasn't it? Still....something felt great and he couldn't hide that feeling.
As he put his hand on his car door he paused debating with himself. Did he really want to glance over his shoulder and see if she was still standing there...or heading to her car. Shaking his head he pulled open the door and then slid into the seat, dumping his textbooks into the seat next to him as he pulled his keys out of his pocket. Shoving the keys in the ignition the smile was still stretched across his face.
(soooo NOT crap xP shhh it was wonderful! akdhfskjdfn graphina is beautiful and magical omg. let it be wednesday already x3)
Seraphina watched Graham walk to his car, well more like run towards it. Was he running away from her? 'What the fuck?' This thought crossed her mind at least a thousand times whenever she noticed him doing something. Sera couldn't completely tell what was on his mind since he was a guy, and she never understood guys. Guys in general were strange, but Graham managed to be stranger. Though she didn't blame him for running away from her, though normally it was her doing the running. Wait what was she even thinking at this point? Shaking her head, Sera turned and took the last few steps to her car.
She got into her car, tossing her book bag into the backseat of her car before starting it up. However she didn't drive away right away. Instead she took a moment to kind of just think over what just happened. It started off with her on the verge of stripping for him in the library and ended with her agreeing to spend a day with him, which she was still convinced was a date no matter what he said. No romance? As if. Of course Sera wouldn't initiate any kind of romance stuff, but who knew if he would keep up the end of his deal. With a soft sigh, she shifted the gear into reverse, finally backing out of the parking spot before switching it to drive so she could finally head...somewhere.
(aaaaaand that's the end to this graphina scene? ;-; dang i already need some more graphina)

(trueeee they have each other's number, but sera probably doesn't even remember she has it bc she's horrible like that xD omfg yes ok they'll bump into each at the theaters :O let's get some rumors about them started! xD)
Jolie sat at one of the many small round tables positioned through out the library. She had originally headed for the schools library but upon her earlier encounter with Kyle she didn't want to have to try and face her again, nor other people at this exact moment. Instead she occupied herself in juggling homework and reading a book. Jolie had one headphone in, earbuds playing soft music in the background to calm her down in the silence of the library. Her hand moved across the papers, easily figuring out her math homework. Outside of school she usually found herself disoriented and unsure how to do everything, especially math, however the library seemed to pull everything back together. Jolie crossed her ankles under the table.
Alec bent down and kissed her cheek, pulling out the chair next to her to plop into. "Hey." he smiled, glancing over her work. His nose wrinkled. Alec had never really liked math, Jolie had always helped him with the Academics he totally failed at. Math and Science were his worse subjects, but hey--that's why he had her... amongst other reasons. "Is now a good time?" he asked, meeting her eyes.
Jolie blinked, startled as she looked up to find Alec. However they dropped back down as he say beside her. Laying her pencil down she shrugged her shoulders and pulled the little earbud from her ear and curled headphones around her device. "I'm only doing math, so yeah ... What did you want to talk about?" She asked, hands folding in her lap as she leaned up against the chairs back.
His lips hardened into a flat line, and the light in Alec's eyes dimmed to a dull minimum. He looked at the table for a second, deciding what he wanted to say before he said anything he'd regret later. Maybe it was time though... you know, time where he stopped putting a stopper on anything that might offend her. He was tired of stepping in tight rope, hoping nothing he said would cause him to fall to his dead. He never had to worry about this type of thing before... you know. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I needed a reason to talk to my girlfriend." he snapped, ignoring the fact that this was a library.
Jolie saw his eyes and automatically repeated her words over and over in her head, picking it apart piece by piece to find where the question had failed her. She looked away at his snapping and gulped, fingers wrestling with each other, wishing she'd something else. "I didn't mean it like that. I just ... I didn't ... Look I'm sorry. Would you believe me if I said that I was happy you were here?" She asked quietly, peeking up at him, tucking dark strands of hair behind her ear. It was totally true but at this point maybe he thought she was just saying this to get herself out of trouble with him. Lies.
((Mmmhmmm, sureeee))
Alec tried to smile, but it was obviously strained. "Yeah." he lied, running a hand through his hair. Things were getting worse. These were the times when he regretted what he'd done the most--he couldn't put into words how terrible he felt for what had happened. He wasn't sure what he could do to make it better... if he could make it better.

((Totally serious man, totally serious lol. They sort of make me sad, like, they would've made a good couple xD)) Jolie sighed visibly, running her hands over her knees and shaking her head. She missed back before everything that had happened, and even though he's made it clear he's sorry and wished he hadn't ... She was hesitant. Not to mention Kyle was always clawing at her with hurtful comments and rude shoves in the hallway. Hell, earlier the girl threw a marble at her head and pushed her like a child down to the ground. Which she told herself didn't hurt, not physically (which was sort of a lie, Jolie hand seen the marble coming before it hit). "I am happy to see you, I am." She murmured, staring at the table.
((Lmao she would totally do that ... And Jolie doesn't hate him, she just doesn't like what he did I guess. But seriously ... Your character.))
Alec laid his head down on the table, he didn't want her to see the tears brimming over his eyelashes. He couldn't... she couldn't expect him to go on like this; he said he was sorry endlessly, but it still wasn't enough. There was a certain point when he realized maybe love couldn't overcome everything... well, at least when it was this one sided. "Do you even love me anymore?" his voice cracked.
Jolie fluttered her lashes in a weak attempt to stop her own tears from falling down her cheeks. There was a weak laugh, strained and not really there. Why would it be? She nodded her head in an answer and wiped at her cheeks, looking away. The answer was yes god dammit! And that's why it was like this, the way they interacted with each other. She was to scared to ask him the same exact question every single day. I hate this. Jolie thought bitterly.
After a lot of silence, Alec didn't bother looking at her before he picked up his bag and left. She could have at least had the decency to say no... leaving him without an answer was somehow worse. Like he wasn't even worth a response? Alec hit the door on his way out, catching a lot of stares from people inside... it was a library after all.
Jolie looked up after him, shoving the chair back and quickly turning around to look at his bak fleeting. She should've answered directly, and was regretting it now. That in itself could've easily wretched everything. Of course ... It was already broken, that was like her strapping on a pair of heels and turning the pieces to dust under the stilettos. She felt them before she realized they were actually there anymore but she was crying. Jolie had this feeling that Alec just didn't want to talk to her right now, and she didn't blame him. He was sorry ... But so was she. Wiping her eyes the brunette shoved her stuff into her bag and three it over her shoulder: she left along with him.
Elisabeth sat in the library, an old and worn copy of The Great Gatsby in her hands. It was a book that she had read plenty of times, the first being for school, and she did not tire of it. There was something beautiful in Fitzgerald's ability to weave his words into something so... magical. Lovely. Reading was one of the simple pleasures in the world that Elisabeth allowed herself; there was not much that she did. She sat, reading the last few paragraphs, over and over and over again.
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
She loved those words, and she read them again and again and again, stretching her legs out subconsciously, not even really bothering to consider that it was a hazard to passers-by, and could be a source of tripping.

A trail of smoke came from a particular pair of red lips attached to a certain boy with a flat expression on his face. "Excuse me? Sir you can't smoke in here." The boy turned and flawlessly the smoke was in two fingers of his. "I'm sorry. I'm having a particularly bad day, the library usually calms me down. And well so does the smoke." A slow smile formed on his face,"But if you want me to take it out..." The smile turned into a small frown. The girl was completely smitten and bit her lip. "Well- um- there's not a lot of people around so I guess it won't be a bother just this once." He winked at her and smirked when he turned around. Mathew through down the cigarette as he found a table and smashed it down with his foot. As he was about to sit down he noticed a pair of legs stretched out. "You might cause someone to fall,"He noted to the girl who looked lost in her book. "And we wouldn't want that now would we?" Shrugging he took out his iPod and put in one earphone and let the other one dangle. His mother wanted to spend time again so he told her he had to study. What? He didn't tell her but he was studying music.
