Blurb: In this sequel to Cari Z's Opening Worlds (included in the book), former starship captain Jason Kim travels to Perelan, the homeworld of his lover, Ferran, to start a life together. The ruling council of the Perels have allowed this unconventional union to continue in the hopes of strengthening relations between themselves and the humans. And while Ferran's family welcome Jason with open arms, not all of the other major families are as pleased. The arrival of an outsider to their insular, subterranean world challenges the traditions of centuries.
Tensions soar as old rivalries are rekindled in the wake of Jason and Ferran's relationship. Inevitably, something snaps. Jason and Ferran soon find themselves literally fighting for their lives when xenophobic anger pushes things beyond the breaking point. Only their devotion to one another can see them through, but a ghost from Jason's past threatens even that. With Perelan on the brink of civil war, Jason and Ferran must find a way to stand together in the face of chaos and to change the world on their own terms before it tears itself apart

Cari, this is absolutely OK. The site is supposed to give authors a place to promote as well as a venue for readers to come and exchange recs.
This sounds like a cracking read. Is it best to read "Opening Worlds" first?

"Opening Worlds" is included with the "Changing Worlds" ebook, so it's all good:) Thanks, Elin!
Artifice by Alex Wolfson
This graphic novel was originally available online as a free read but has now been released on paper. The art work is superbly detailed and very naturalistic. The story concerns Deacon, an cyborg soldier, who is the sole survivor of a mission that went terribly wrong, and discusses how close artificial intelligences may come to being human and whether it is possible for a cyborg to fall in love.
There are a couple of sex scenes depicted in the novel but nothing too extreme. I'd rate it about a three. The violence is far more graphic but nobody seems to be bothered about that.

The Way Home
Natalie always wanted a little sister. Kat didn’t know she was allowed to want anything…or anyone.
Kat, a shy farmgirl, arrives at her freshman dorm with a backpack, a suitcase, and her mother’s wish for Kat to attend college “at least until you get married”. Her roommate Natalie, a confident and fun-loving social butterfly, decides sight unseen that Kat will become her best friend for life. Natalie teaches Kat about college life, academics, and friendship by taking Kat under her wing…and over her knee.
Then their lives fall apart one fateful night on campus, and for the rest of the decade Kat and Natalie struggle to find their way back to each other. Their way home.

Award-winning author Spring Meadows and newspaper-turned-literary editor Rachel Templeton have one thing in common: they can’t stand each other. Spring is sure that her bestselling talents single-handedly keep her publishing company afloat, while Rachel would like nothing better than to take this smart-mouthed, button-pushing prima donna down a peg or two. When Spring makes the fatal mistake of accusing Rachel of sexual misconduct, Rachel decides to teach her a lesson. “What is an author to an editor?” Spring asks herself. If only she had been prepared for Rachel’s answer…
Desire in Any Language
Mira thought she wanted a spanking. What she got was love.
On her own for the first time, Mira is studying abroad for her translator’s certificate. Unfortunately, the heady excitement of dance clubs, late-night parties, and endless shopping quickly distracts her from her educational goals. Mira’s advisor offers her private tutoring, but the combined pressures of culture and language difference threaten Mira’s progress at school. She is unable to get her act together until she makes a discovery that horrifies and tantalizes her: in her new country, corporal punishment is a way of life. The secret to her academic success just might also fulfill her wildest, unspoken dreams.
Sexy. Seductive. Dangerous. A poignant and compelling read.

Hi Ana, thanks for posting your books. Could you please add an indication of heat level to the post, then I'll repost the books separately in the Contemporary section. I wouldn't want readers who prefer contemporary stories to miss out on seeing them.

Oh, I am sorry! Still figuring out how things work. They are all sweet romance. The Way Home is about love but more in a friendship way (think Beaches or Fried Green Tomatoes), Desire in Any Language has only one fade-to-black scene, and Editorial Board is innuendos rather than any outright romance. So I would say either sweet or the lowest heat setting.
Thank you so much!

That's all right, hunny. You should've seen me the day I made the group. Headless chicken would be a good description.
Books posted separately with covers and blurbs. :)

A very inventive and fascinating story. The author's detailed descriptions worked wonders with my imagination. Simply captivating from beginning to end. There's a sequel somewhere in the pipeline :)
