I hate to admit it, but after I got my first kitten, I threatened to slam into my friends "like a German wrecking ball" if they started to give me cute (as in kitsch) cat figurines ...Since then, I have been given (and bought) some really lovely/interesting ones that I treasure...and, of course, I have a replica of the well-known elegant Egyptian cat with her bejeweled collar.
It's not the first time I had to eat my words!
I like to collect realistic looking stuffed animals and figurines (non breakable). I have some very realistic tiger stuffed animals, dogs, cats, a monkey, a spider, and other various animals. My figurines currently mostly include dogs, a squirrel, and a horse or two.
I'm a bit like Inge here as well. (This happens a lot) I KNEW that once my dolphin book was published, the little plastic dolphins would start arriving in my letterbox. I thought I would groan and chuck them in bin. WRONG! I have a special shelf on my display cabinet for them and they find their way into all sorts of other "treasure spots" and they are often exquisite and I have dolphins made of crystal, seeds, wood, paua shell, glass, silver fabric. I have even one hanging on my wall that was made by a reader out of special WORDS taken from my story and shaped into a dolphin to make a picture for my wall. I have a silver/paua dolphin on my keyring. I have dolphin ornaments, ear-rings, pens, paperweights, poems, containers, stationery, Christmas decorations and clothing and all of these things are gifts from people, some even from people I have never met face to face who live across the world and who wish me well and who think of me when they see the item in the shop.
I feel NO URGE to bin any of them. They make me cry.

For instance I collect skunks. My kitchen is pretty much Pepe LePew.
My mom when she was alive loved hummingbirds and collected those.
Do you collect anything? (And, no don't say dust.lol.)
