Ariane Ruby Every one of us had some experiences when that life is so good in that moment you'll feel like it will never end. The very time you feel that nothing in the world can ever bring you down.

Memories…
Memories…

What's yours?

Kressel Housman I'm a middle-aged Mom who read this book a few years ago. I recently watched the movie with my teenage son. I'm not going to answer the question directly, but clearly being infinite vs. being small is a major theme of the movie, not spelled out like that per se in the book. I think most people, whether teenagers or older, feel as small as Charlie sitting alone in the cafeteria most of the time and only feel infinite in our dreams, stimulated by watching movies, reading fiction, and identifying with movie stars. It took me so long to develop a taste for non-fiction, to want to learn more about REAL LIFE. Fiction is always larger than life, ie infinite. We can never really be infinite. I hope that doesn't mean we need to settle for being small. What's the comfortable in-between?

Cmyk Never, I don't think it's something a person can feel. We're never infinite, as we all die eventually.

You people saying you can't feel infinite are missing the point. The discussion doesn't ask when you ARE infinite or WERE infinite, it asked when you FELT infinite, there's a big difference. Just saying.

I am not missing the point, I fully understand the question and I responded to it.

I just think it's impossible for a person to FEEL infinite, as it's neither an emotion or a feeling. This quote is so pretentious, and I cringe a little every time I read it.

But what about those moments you capture in a picture, the instant you do something that will be remembered, those moments, they're the ones that make you feel infinite. I don't think everyone has the chance to feel this way, but some people do, most definitely.

Sina I was at a Party and there was a moment when everyone was dancing and singing along to the same song with all their heart.
It felt like nothing could stop us and like that moment could go on forever.

Okay, point taken. But I can't remember the last time *I* felt infinite. I do feel like I get in touch with the infinite when I pray, though.

So do I! :)

Chris For me, I feel infinite when I connect with art or connect with other people through my art. Whether it's music, theater or a great book when I feel communication and emotion through the vehicle of artistic experience it reminds me that we're all interconnected in this world and that there's no end or beginning to what we can do/feel/experience.

Currer Jean The first time that I felt infinite was last summer at the beach. It was a random hot day and me and my family were doing nothing but sweating away. My mom came in and said we're going to the beach. The drive down was hot, but exciting and all I could think was that I hadn't been to the beach since I was a very little girl and it hadn't been a good experience. But this time would be different because I was surrounded by the ones I loved. The beach itself was a blessing. I'm not sure if you've been to the beach at night but it has this living lull to it. The ocean was life, the constant motion of something that has always been and will always be. It was beyond incredible to feel the essence of the earth. Then a thought hit me. I was standing at the end of the world. For a brief moment I was putting my toes into uncharted territory, leaving North America. I was at the end of my own tiny, little world.
It was then that I felt infinite.

Josi I don't think I've ever felt infinite... so that's something yet to come and I can't wait for that feeling.
You all have such great stories about the moments you felt infinite by the way!

I think it's just a fancy phrase for "adrenaline rush".

Tim Deme If you've never ever felt infinite then you clearly haven't lived /:
