Give a shout out if you are a significant other of an author. You deserve some flowers or something for standing by their side as they give birth to the book, agonize over revisions and attempt to navigate the muddy waters of marketing.
If you have a funny story share it, and of course, post a link to their book.
I should refer the wife to this thread. She's my primary editor, marketing scout, and drill sergeant. We have an ongoing bet how long it will take for her to give me feedback that will reduce me to tears. It hasn't happened yet, but not for lack of trying. I think it's harder on her having to deal with people so much to sell my work---she takes the negative reviews ten times as personally as I do. Of course, she also gloats far more whenever someone says "clean editing" or "no plot holes," since that's her fingerprint. Well, that and the fact that I have so many novels in the revision pile that I can't hope to catch up. I really question whether I'd be taking my writing as seriously as I do if it wasn't for her constant encouragement/harassment/criticism. It's a lovely thing, and terrifying.
