Multiple authors under one name

Hi there, I just added this book as my mother in law has just released it on kindle BUT it seems to have merged it with a different author with the same name. How can we get this separated? I didn't realise there was already an author with that same name on the site (the real author has recently signed up to the site but hasn't applied for author status yet)

You cannot once profile belongs to a goodreads author; you post on the goodreads author profiles need merging thread.

If not goodreads authors, take the less complete profile, (noting any info you want to keep), edit to match the exact same author spelling of more complete profile. Save.

You will be told it found existing author keep or not? Keep. Then edit the kept profile to make sure author name is goodreads standard and add any info you noted.

For good measure, I edit author profile and click "similar names" in case still yet more profiles for same author that might have been missed or if odd seeming books maybe need to be moved to a different profile.

"Similar names" usually lead to lots of other errors in author names, often periods missing after initials or suffixes like "Jr."

If they are in different languages -- like Arabic and English -- they should NOT be combined.
