Did FINDING POE Leave You Stumped? Read These Clues....

Most readers who have finished Finding Poe have figured out that the story itself is a puzzle to be solved, but only a small percentage of readers have actually figured out its enigmatic ending. For those the novel left scratching your heads, I have a few clues for you:

1. Obviously, Karina is not who she seems to be. The narrative follows Poe’s notorious “unreliable narrator” trope, but in Karina’s case, the unreliability is neither the product of deceit nor insanity.

2. Although Karina does experience a few nightmares, the story itself is NOT a dream.

3. Pay close attention to the language used in:

• The subtitle (A Tale of Inspiration and Horror);

• Karina’s short interactions with Poe, especially his dialog;

• The last two pages of text (what is the connection between what happens at the end of Chapter Sixteen and the recurring scene of the maelström?).
