I'm Andrew, and I'm a keen reader, writer and actor who lives and works in London. When I'm not reading, writing or acting, I tend to be cooking curries, drinking beer, playing with my little black cat (Buscemi) and occasionally working in my full-time job as Publishing Manager for a membership organisation of finance professionals...
I read a lot of science-fiction, a lot of fantasy, and a lot of classics. I was really active on Goodreads last year, but hit a major slowdown in my reading/rating/reviewing output when I decided to catch up with some classics of French literature (I'm fluent in French, for a given value of fluent). Currently I'm ploughing my way through the opening chapters of Les Misérables. And you thought that film was long... Once I've escaped from the world of Jean Valjean, however, I'm always keen for recommendations of awesome books. And if they're quite short, so much the better, frankly, I'm a bit doorstepped out right now...
Favourite authors include Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett, Paul Magrs, Voltaire, Hugo, Dickens and, well, myself. Hey, no one else is going to list me as a favourite, so why not, right?
hello!!! I've been wanting to read Les Miserables finally, but think I'm going to wait for summer when I have more time. Let me kow what you think of it.
Thanks Lori! And thanks Laura, I'll certainly let you know. It's the first book I've read in French for a few months, so it's taking a little while to get back up to speed.
