Does anyone else wish they could read this again for the first time?

The whole experience was so intense and so magnificent, that I wish I could go back in time just so I could read it again with totally new eyes.

In one sense yes. In another sense, each reading is fresh in its own way, because it brings new insight within the framework of previous knowledge and understanding. If every experience in life were a "virgin" experience, then maturity and deeper existential knowledge would be impossible. But then again, maybe we would all walk around in a constant state of wonder.
Sometimes it's good to just let experiences wash over you without trying to turn them into a term paper. That's what I prefer to do with this book.
You might get that "new read" sense if you set it aside for a year or more. Read some other works, a mix of nonfiction and fiction, biography, memoir, then approach it. And enjoy it. :)
I totally agree with Mark (#2). Pity that usually I never read the same book twice.
