I have that book on hold at the library. I've been wondering whether I'll like it. Glad to hear you're loving the book! I have hope!

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments It is told from the young man's point of view.

Karen’s Library | 11320 comments Mod
Oh, that surprises me. I figured it'd be from the girl's. Cool!

I loved Beautiful Creatures. I loved the movie, too, but its night and day from the book.

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments Yes, I wanted to read the book first so the movie doesn't spoil the book. Twilight was done proud by the movies but that is not always the case. The boy in the movie looks kind of short and goofy but maybe not. I hate it when the characters in the movie are not right. So it is why I read the books first.

I actually really liked the guy who played Ethan, although I didn't at first. He is a really good actor, and I got past his looks after about 10 minutes into the movie. The girl who played Lena was amazing! Emma Thompson was extrodinary, of course!
There are lots of silly, funny moments in the movie. My hubby was laughing a lot, he really enjoyed it!

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I think the girl who plays Lena looks apt but the guy does not look or act like he sounds in the book. But I would rather spoil the movie for myself rather than the book, LOL. I will report back after I see it.

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments So one more comment here: Why do all the girls in YA have "black" hair, fair skin and blue eyes? I know very few people who have actual black hair. Maybe dark brown but black? The goth look seems to be the heroine in all YA novels. No blonde or red haired girls, or very few. Or even chestnut or dark brown or auburn hair. Only people in Mediterranean countries, Asian countries and Spanish speaking countries have truly black hair but their eyes are also dark. Just wondering.

OK so sorry it's taken me so long but I finished!! I loved it!!! I completely agree with how unbelievably well and creatively Meyer tied the fairy tales into her dystopian world. I was pretty sure (view spoiler)

I finally finished the Kill order (which I have to say was good but I was expecting a completely different story) and now about 100 pages into Scarlet.
You all are quick readers so I will join in the discussion when I finish, hopefully soon. The only bad part about finishing the book is having to wait months till the next one comes out.

Karen’s Library | 11320 comments Mod
I agree Kristina, BUT... It's sooooo exciting when it finally does come out. It's like Christmas! ;-D

Kristina So True Karen!

I will do that David, I will get some thoughts together and post a little something.

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments So I thought the Kill Order is a prequel to Maze Runner so didn't expect there to be a sequel to the prequel. So is there?
