"You wanna bet?" Adrianna challenged, tipping her chin up as she stared him down jokingly. "I'd take you down any day."

Adrianna's jaw dropped at she looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Oh you're just evil," she said, shaking her head at him.
Adrianna laughed at his answer, tipping her head back slightly as she did. She told him her address when he asked. "And it's the one at the end of the road with the two trees in the front," she added.

"It's a left here," Adrianna said, glancing from the window at Galen. "Actually, you should probably just drop me down the street. In case my moms home."

"It's really fine. Just in case you know? I'm pretty sure my mom would kill me if she found out that. Even though I'm an adult now. Technically," Adrianna told him, waving her hand in the air.

"That's not a good idea. Then she'd assume you were my boyfriend even if I told her you weren't," Adrianna replied, shaking her head.

"Yes Galen. But you won't have to go through the talk every time I say I'm going out with you," Adrianna said slowly with a slight grimace. "But by all means, if you want to be my boyfriend, then go ahead," she added sarcastically.

Adrianna laughed at his confusion. "Of course you don't get it. Remember I asked you how mermaids are made earlier? Yeah, that," she explained awkwardly.

Adrianna laughed at the innocence of him. "Well I'm glad to hear that but you'll be my 'boyfriend'," she said, putting air quotes in. "You wouldn't be taking advantage of me."

Adrianna shook her head with a grin. "You are so innocent it's adorable," she replied. "Yeah. It's really different." Adrianna, leaned back in her seat, not wanting to leave just yet.

Adrianna laughed lightly at him again. "I'd explain it to you honestly but that conversation is for a different day. I'm really not in the mood to explain teenagers to you. So I guess this is goodbye," she said, opening the door of the truck.

"See ya Galen!" Adrianna called, waving at him as she walked backwards before she turned and walked into her house. She thought everything was okay until her mother raised an eyebrow and asked who was the boy she was with. No matter how many times she said he wasn't her boyfriend, she mother refused to believe it.
The next day, Adrianna's face was red after her mom had given her the talk before she went off to work. Adrianna had the movie set up, popcorn in two big bowls on the coffee table, a bottle of soda and chocolate. She was just waiting for Galen to arrive, realising that she had never actually gave him a time and she didn't have number to contact him.

Adrianna jumped up from the couch, sliding her phone into her pocket and walking towards the door. Opening it, she grinned at Galen. "Hi," she said, hugging him quickly before she stepped back and opened the door for him to walk in.

Adrianna laughed as she closed the door behind him. "Yeah...we need to be more detailed when we're making plans," Adrianna replied, sitting down on the couch.
"Come on, sit down," she told him, waving him down onto the couch. She picked up the remote and turned the movie on, curling her feet up under her.
"So what did you think?" Adrianna asked, switching off the TV and turning to look at Galen with a grin.
"This is the impression of mermaids I had. There's not an evil sea witch right?" Adrianna asked jokingly, reaching over and taking a handful of popcorn.

"You seriously have a king and princes and princesses?" Adrianna asked with a small grin at the thought. "What's that like?" She continued, tilting her head to the side.

"Like Taylor Swift with a tail," Adrianna laughed softly, smiling at the thought. "So have you like met any of them? Or it is like here where you can only really hear about them or see them fro a far unless you know someone or whatever?"

"I didn't think you would," Adrianna replied, shaking her head slightly. "Well that's pretty cool that their chill about that sorta stuff. They could all stuck up and pretentious."

Adrianna tipped her head to the side, her eyes narrowing just a bit as she looked at him. "Why would I not believe you?" She asked him curiously.

"No way," Adrianna said, shaking her head. "Just no way. Seriously? Because that's kind of cool but I mean, why wouldn't you want to tell me? There's not like something wrong with me right? You'd tell me that right?"

"Wow," Andrea replied, tracing her along the mark, her fingers barely a whisper along his skin. "And just in case I could be in trouble or something. I mean, I clearly don't really know my parents. One of them could be some sort of mer-criminal," she added, pulling her hand away.

Adrianna breathed a sigh of relief before laughing lightly. "Well that's a relief. So when you say that you hang out with royalty, you really mean you family because you are royalty. That's pretty cool."
