Adrianna moved her eyes from to dolphin and over to Galen. "Pets? This dolphin is your pet? That is the coolest thing like ever," Adrianna exclaimed with a grin. Fin clicked and squeaked, happily jerking forwards but it caught her by surprise and she jumped backwards, bumping against Galen's chest.

Adrianna automatically leaned into Galen, it was instinctive, she hadn't even realised that she was doing it. "How do you even play with a dolphin?" Adrianna asked with a laugh, turning her head to look up at Galen.

Adrianna watched with a grin as Galen played with Fin, swimming around as they chased each other. She felt butterflies bubble up in her stomach but she knew that it wasn't excitement or nervousness at doing something new that was causing these butterflies.

Adrianna laughed as she watched Galen getting pulled around by the dolphin, a lot more carefree in the water than he had been on land with her. She waved back at him, feeling those pesky butterflies again.

Adrianna furrowed her eyebrows as he froze and called her. He sounded panicked but she had no idea why. When she saw all the dolphins distressed as well she started to get worried. "Why?" She asked him. "What's going on?"

He asked her breathing a little harder as he stared at her," I'll explain later but get out of here. Fin help her." He said to the small dolphin next to him who swam over to Adrianna and nudged her a little bit
Adrianna was getting scared as Galen's gave her no explanation and his breathing started to pick up. With a frown, Adrianna nodded, wrapping a hand around Fin's dorsal fin and loving the extra speed he gave her as they swam back to shore. When they were close enough, Adrianna broke away from Fin, thanking him for the help and swimming as close to shore as she dared before she focused on changing back. Wadding out of the water, she picked up one of the towels Galen had brought and started to dry off, scanning the sea in worry.

Adrianna paced on the beach, checking the time on her phone every few seconds as she waited for Galen to resurface. She didn't mind if he was staying in the ocean and she had to find a ride home. She just wanted to know that he was alright. Her mom would be expecting her home soon but she knew she couldn't leave without knowing that he was at least okay.

Adrianna caught sight of Galen as felt all her muscles relax in relief. As soon as he had gotten the words out, she rushed over to him and threw her arms around him. "You had me so scared and then you didn't come back real soon and I was so worried," Adrianna said in a rush, letting go of Galen and taking a step back. "What happened?" She asked him, looking up at him with curiosity and concern.

He said looking down at her," it's nothing just making sure nothing happened to you."
He said
"How would I have gotten hurt?" Adrianna asked, her eyes studying his as she asked him. "What were you trying to protect me from? Why were you trying to protect me?" She asked him, only curious about everything, not defensive.

Adrianna nodded, drawing her eyebrows together. "Yeah," she replied and tilted her head to the side. "What does that have to do with me getting hurt?" she asked him curiously.

He answered and by them he just meant his father but she didn't need to know that yet
Adrianna didn't really understand his reasons. She didn't get why she would be targeted if she was a mermaid just like they were. But she realised that she knew next to nothing about their world but Galen did so she just had to trust him. "Does this mean we can't go swimming again?" she asked him, trying to drop the other topic.

"I don't have to meet them soon though right?" Adrianna asked worriedly, rocking back on her heels as she looked up at Galen. "I'm fine with just hanging with you for a while before I deal with more merpeople not understand any of my references," she said with a nervous laugh.

Adrianna nodded, figuring that she wouldn't have that long. She was just worried about what would happen when she met others. Galen was amazing but she didn't know what the others would be like. "So, when are you free again?" Adrianna asked, starting to walk back towards the truck.

Adrianna grinned up at him. "So if I was to say that I needed you tomorrow?" she asked him, checking her phone to make sure her mom wasn't freaking out.
"Well in that case," Adrianna started with a grin, turning around so she was walking backwards facing him. "I just desperately need you to watch The Little Mermaid with me tomorrow before we go swimming for a bit," Adrianna said dramatically, clutching at her top right above her heart.
"Yes!" Adrianna said, fist pumping he air before breaking into laughter. "This is going to be awesome. Seriously. Now I gotta get home so I don't have to sneak in again."
Adrianna thought about it for a minute, tapping her chin with her forefinger. "Well I mean, if you're offering, I wouldn't say no," she said, grinning at him.
"Okay okay, fine. Gosh, stop pressuring me. You can drop me home," Adrianna teased with a grin, holding her arms up like she was surrendering.

He teased her
"Oh no. Whatever shall I do?" Adrianna asked sarcastically, pressing the back of her hand to her forehead. She smirked at Galen, trying not to laugh.
"Oh what a gentleman," Adrianna giggled jokingly, pretending to fan herself dramatically as she hopped into the car.
She laughed at him as he rolled his eyes. "You know you love it," Adrianna teased, grinning at Galen.
"Whatever? Galen you wound me," Adrianna joked, placing her hand on her chest and batting her eyelashes.

Adrianna squealed when he poked her side, her hand flying up to cover her mouth. "You can't do that. I'm way too ticklish," Adrianna told him, rolling her eyes at herself.
Adrianna's eyes widened as she glanced at Galen. "Yeah but you wouldn't," Adrianna said hopefully.
"If you did while you were driving, I'd kill you if we didn't die first," Adrianna warned but still edging away from him. "And you better not. Not ever. It's so bad."
