Adrianna nodded shakily, tipping her head to look up at the sky she she took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself down. She hadn't realised that she had been crying as the tears mixed in with the water dripping down her face but as she calmed the hiccups she felt her tears stop. "I need you help. I know nothing about what I am and I can't tell my mom, she'd kill me for going near water and I'm already in deep water with her. No pun intended," Adrianna asked, looking up at the man, trying to be serious but the wet hair sticking to her face and the tail at the end of her torso made that hard.

"Because I'm desperate and you're a good person?" Adrianna replied, her voice raising at the end. She chewed on her lip as she tries to find a better reason. She didn't know who else she could turn to, he was her only option. "I really need help and you're the only person. Pretty please?"

"I don't," Adrianna replied answered bluntly. "I have no clue who you are, I don't even know your name. But you're here not freaking out and taking pictures and calling everyone so I assume your decent enough." She pulled herself further out of the water, trying to manoeuvre her tail fully out of the water which proved to be harder than it looked.

Adrianna nodded, taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes and imagined her legs. It was a lot harder than she thought it was going to be but eventually she felt a warm burning in her tail that turned into a hot, stabbing pain in her legs. Grinning with the relief, she pushed herself up off the ground on shaky legs and faved the man who'd helped her. "Thank you so much. I'm Adrianna by the way," she introduced with a wave.

Adrianna ran a hand through her wet hair, tangling her fingers in it but at least getting it out of her face. Pulling her hand from her hair, she shook it away from Galen, deciding not to try and shake his hand. "Well Galen, thanks for your help. And hopefully your help in the future?" She asked, still hopeful that he would agree to help her figure out how being a mermaid actually worked.

Adrianna sighed in relief, not realising that she had been holding her breath as she waited for his answer. "Thank you so much! I don't want to go back to avoiding water and just ignoring the huge fact that I seem to be a mermaid. That still makes me sound crazy," Adrianna said, shaking her head.

Adrianna grinned and nodded at him. "Yeah, sure, of course, anything. Thank you. I'd probably hug you right not but I'm soaking wet," Adrianna laughed, pulling her sopping t-shirt that was sticking to her away from her body.

Adrianna's eyes widened and her hand flew to her mouth. She hadn't even though about that. Groaning, she ran her hand over her face. "I didn't even think about that! Looks like I'm going to be sneaking in again," she said, shaking her head.

Adrianna beamed at him again, a weight lifted off her chest when he reminded her that he'd be helping her. "See you tomorrow Galen," she said, giving him a wave and walking away, hoping that her mother was still out so she didn't have to climb any trees.

Adrianna bounced on the balls of her feet as she waited for Galen to arrive the next day. She had luckily made it home without getting caught and her mother still believed she was unaware of her situation. She knew she had probably arrived a bit early but she couldn't help it with the nervous energy pent up inside.

He said opening the door more for her
Adrianna's breath caught in her throat as her eyes quickly flitted over Galen's bare chest. She had been too panicked the day before to notice how good looking he actually was. Pulling out of her thoughts, Adrianna smiled and stepped inside. "Thanks, sorry. I wasn't sure when I was supposed to come," she apologised, biting her lip.

Adrianna pulled her ponytail over her shoulder and smiled. "Sorry, again, I was just kind of excited. I have no idea what any of this is so I'm nervous and excited and rambling. Sorry," she chuckled with a shrug. She was almost bouncing with the nervous but excited energy.

He said with a small grin
"What? No I can't swim," Adrianna panicked for a moment and then buried her face in her hand as she realised what she had just said. "I can't believe that I just said that," she groaned.

"Yeah, I realised that," Adrianna replied, shaking her head at herself. "But you're not actually going to throw me in the pool right? Because I'm not that excited," she added, biting her lip after.

"Yeah, let's not go with that one," Adrianna said hurriedly, shaking her head quickly.
((I'm at camp for three days so I'll be really spotty while I try to conserve battery.))

((Okay you are totally fine))
"Never gonna happen," Adrianna told him, shaking her head. "So what are we gonna do? I'm not sure what goes on in Mermaid 101," she asked him, shifting nervously from foot to foot.

"Okay. Yeah, I can do that. That I can do," Adrianna said, nodding her head and shifting from foot to foot. "Let's go. Let's do this. Before I change my mind and chicken out I mean," she laughed, tugging lightly at her ponytail.
Adrianna took a shaky breath, dropping her bag on the ground before pulling her t- shirt over her head and shimmying out of her shorts so she was only in her bikini. She sat down at the edge of the pool, barely dipping her toes in as she mentally prepared herself for the tail she was about to get. Squeezing her eyes shut and willing herself not to panic, she pushed off the edge. The burning pain stabbed her legs again but she powered through. Opening her eyes, she gasped involuntarily, seeing better underwater than she could on land. When she didn't drown, she looked up at the surface and pushed her hands till her head bobbed up over the top of the water. "Okay, that wasn't...that bad I guess," she said, clinging onto the edge of the pool.

Adrianna shook her head. "I still can't get my head around that. I mean, I've grown up a human. I don't really know if I even want to be a mermaid. When I was a kid, I was the girl that wanted to be a werewolf, not a mermaid," Adrianna laughed but there wasn't much humour in it.

"Well you can walk a dog," Adrianna replied with a shrug. "Still, it would've been cool but I mean, swimmings fun. I wouldn't know because I've never gone but I assume it is. Right?" She asked wanting to move her legs but feeling her tail swish instead.
