Bea #407 Completed. However, I noted that there are a couple of books ("Die Juden") which might need to be combined with the other Jews of Barstow. I just do not read the language well enough to guess.

Thank you, Bea. I had the same doubt myself. The words in brackets for those books mean, respectively, "Complete edition" and "Advanced edition".

Looks like all the problem combines are now resolved.

General tip: If an edition seems to be acting oddly in combine, try editing and saving it (making no changes). That forces a reindex, which can clear small blips.

Books can only be combined if they have the same author listed first. For anthologies, that should be the editor (when known). Try combining them now.

After combining the english and hebrew editions (my fault!) - the English edition doesn't appear on her profile, so the majority of potential readers just DON'T SEE THE BOOK.

Can it be fixed? If not - can the combining be undone?

The editions should be combined if they are of the same book. The reason the Hebrew edition shows it's because it has more ratings.

The author can make the English edition the one that shows up by going to its edit page, scrolling down and clicking on the option to make it the default (about halfway down the right-hand side of the page). Librarians can't do this for her.

There are librarian notes on both editions saying not to combine. I'll leave it for someone else to decide if this is correct.

I don't have enough experience with series to know what exactly is meant and should be done. Anyone?
