Lola | 1001 comments Hey Paula,
I am so glad to hear you are having a good time ! Wolf and I were just talking today about taking a short trip but we may need to check on the road openings, it has been a snowy late spring here.
My Son in law called today asking about my neighbor and I remembered I didn't tell you all what happened. Jen and Bill came over for Mother's Day and we were in the living room ,I heard a strange noise and looked outside. There was my neighbor Connie laying in the middle of the road , I went running to her at the same time as her Hubby Cliff and our other neighbor Jake . Her ankle was bent in a bad way, I knew right away it was broken. She is in her 70's, things seem to break easier the older we get. She told me that the new puppy down the road came running up behind her and hit her right in the back of the knees and down she went, he is a BIG puppy, feet like an elephant . As she was telling me this the weather got cloudy and started to drizzle so I ran back home got Bill and a quilt. Bill is a wild fire volunteer so he has training in first aid . He knelt down behind her and braced her back and started asking her questions to make sure she wasn't going into shock. And kept Cliff from trying to pick up her leg! I kept her talking about flowers lol ,just trying to keep her mind off it. Finally the ambulance came and 3 women EMTs popped out, thank goodness Bill and Jake were there to lift her on to the gurney . There took her to the Hospital in Helena, we found out the next day she broke her ankle in 2 places and will be in a cast at least 6 week . Cliff had shoulder surgery this winter so he is not 100% . Wolf mowed their grass for them ,so sweet of him and Cliff told him the couple who own the puppy called their insurance and it is covered under their homeowners policy . I hate that this will mess up her whole summer because we had a lousy summer last year.

Jina, I know all this cannot be easy for you & that you are feeling very hurt & very possibly feeling at fault for her actions. None of us like to think that one of our children who do anything untoward. You & Micheal have to give yourselves a break and remember that she has been brought up to know 'right from wrong'. Also she keeps reminding you 'that she is an adult' so as an adult unfortunately she will have to deal with the consequences.
You have to look after yourselves & your two other lovely daughter. I also hope I haven't said anything to hurt you. Remember we are here for you. Love Lesleyx

I agree with Lesley. Sometimes it takes the consequences to make you realize that you were not being an adult or very caring at times. I will pray that the police find Sarah before Friday because a warrant is serious.

When does Heather graduate?

Hi Lesley and friends,
Lesley you couldnt say anything that would hurt my feelings. Even if you said something critical I know it would be for my best interests and with love from your heart.
Sarah was picked up by the police at school on Tuesday. They took her to where she was keeping the stolen items and 80% was returned to the owner. The police told Jamie that even though some items were returned they are still going to be charges brought against Sarah. Sarah tried to lie her way out of trouble stating that the 4 year old packed the bag that had the electronics, kinves, iphones, cameras, cash and coins and gift cards. The 4 and 6 year old werent even home, they were at their fathers place from the night before Sarah said the girl packed the bags. Theres proof the kids werent home when Sarah broke in and took the stuff. Sarah has been complaining about me for 4 years. It amazes me that people wait so long to tell me this stuff. Its kinda too late to do anything about it now.
Im sorry I have to go tend to something real quick. I will post more later.
Hugs to all,
Jina

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear group,
Both Heather and Sarah graduate high school on June 9th. Life is hopping right now with appointments and getting stuff ready for graduation. I cant help but be a little sad (alright a lot sad) that Sarah isnt joining us. But at the same time if she was she would find a way to get all the focus on her and Heather would be on the sidelines. She is staying with a girl a year younger than her and her family. The girls father is a pastor. Sam and I were talking earlier and we think if it goes like the rest, this weekend Sarah will do something they dont approve of and Sarah will turn on them too. This is the third family Sarah has stayed with since leaving my house.
Oh I forgot to tell you her new lie. She is spreading around that we wont let her see her disabled sister. That she took care of Heather and so Heather is probably not doing well since she isnt here. The story is wrong on so many levels. First she shouldn't try to get sympathy using Heathers health, second she never took care of Heather. If we asked her to watch her while I went to the bathroom she would stomp her feet, ask whats wrong with Sam watching her.(Sam could be cooking, be outside with Little bit or any number of things) Her attitude always hurt Heathers feelings. And she was told that if she wanted to see Heather she needed to call Michael and set up a time. That it would probably be 3-7 days from then to get together. (The reason Michael said that time frame is so he could check our appointments, check whether Heather wants to see Sarah and figure out weather to see if the meeting could be outside or have to be indoors). I dont think thats unreasonable. Sarah has not reached out to her Dad since she left.
I was thinking of getting people to send Heather a card or email her tips, good wishes, advice and encouragement for her scrapbook. She loves getting mail.
Well my headache is killing me so I need to go. I will post later some books I found that y'all might like.
Love to all,
Jina

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Hi group.
Heathers senior english project is to do a dollhouse in the time period of Anne of Green Gables. We have painted ghe house white with green shutters and roof and "gables". I have a dress form, a tredle sewing machine, an ironing board a basket of yarn, a butter churn and some people and a dog. Any ideas or advice is appreciated. I need ideas for the bathroom, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and living room and attic. I am making perfume bottles out of beads and will probably make a lamp or lantern out of beads as well. I will figure out how to post a couple pictures of our Heather painting the green parts.
Sleep has been elusive since Sarah left. When I do sleep I have bad dreams about Sarah or my other girls. After waking from one of those I have no desire to go back to sleep. So I have been filling my time at night with reading or cruising Pinterest or Amazon. (I like to "window shop" on amazon. I go to my wish list and start a fresh search for my saved items and sometimes I find a gem or two. I have ran across 2 books that sound amazing. One is "The Red Ledger" by Meredith Wild and "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafron. I wont tell you about them because you should do a search for both and read the description and reviews. I havent been able to find a free download or even a reasonable price for either but I confess I haven't looked very hard for one either.
I miss you guys. My last few weeks have been consumed with and around Sarah and thats put behind me. (As best I can) She chose her path and I am going on with my life without her. That being said I am getting ready to repurpose Sarahs room and that starts with fresh paint. Any advice or ideas are welcome.
I found out yesterday that I have an appointment with a spine specialist at Duke Medical Plaza Hospital. I looked the doctor up and he seems caring and to know his stuff so I hope he will agree to fix my back so I can cancel my appointment on June 4th with the doctor thats an ass#!(! . That doctor has a God complex by that I mean he thinks he is. I have no patience to feed his ego. So I really have high hopes for the doctor at Duke.
I will check back later.
Love to all,
Jina

Jina, Hope all goes well with your Drs appointment.

Just a thought but do you have anyone/anywhere you can go and talk to about your problems with Sarah & how it is affecting you & the rest of your family that isn't currently involved or knows your family so that you can say what you are feeling without any fear of it getting back to your family or friends? I know it's not the same but when my father died I was able to talk to a Grief Counsellor about my grief, guilt etc & it helped me a great deal.

In respect of paint for the room, why not choose something very bright & cheerful & then decide what to use if for after that?

Try & rest & look afteryourself. Love & hugs from a cold & windy Lincolnshire. Don't think we are going to get any summer at this rate. It will soon be the longest day, daylight wise & then it goes downhill from there into winter. Lesley xx

My dear friend and sister Lesley,
You are one of my sweetest and most treasured friends. I appreciate your support ,prayers and encouragement. I thought about your idea and my mother also said something similar. (You seem to be on Moms wavelength or something since many times the two of you tell me the some advice. :) ). She was in North Carolina helping us get moved into our new home closer to the hospital. Heather was still in the inpatient rehab recovering from her "sudden cardiac death". One of the times she visited Heather she met one of the hospitals Chaplins. She was kind and funny, she had big hand puppets like ventriloquist use. She came everyday to pray with me for Heathers healing and strength for the family. When Heather was in the first few days of her coma, I was made to go to my Dr because I couldnt quit crying, I couldnt eat or sleep and everytime I closed my eyes I seen the replay of Heathers collapse and my doing CPR for 12 minutes but it felt like hours. The Dr said I was having situational depression, anxiety and PTSD. When I went back to the hospital the doctors needed a bunch of xrays, CT scan and MRI of the whole body. I stayed in the room at PICU. The next day Heather was going to have surgery to implant her pacemaker/defibrillator and I was so scared she wasnt strong enough to make it through the surgery. Without me knowing Heathers nurse (one of my favorites, she let me help with Heathers bath, changing the bed, combing her hair. It was the only contact I could have with Heather.) called the Chaplin to come see me. She stayed with me for a little over 2 hours. She just let me talk and prayed with me. So after thinking of your idea, I think I will try to find her and talk. She remembers Heather and I. I have took Heather many times around the various wards she has stayed in. Everyone is amazed at how much Heather has improved. It seems Heather touched everyone's hearts and is unforgettable. So with the Chaplins knowledge of my family and her knowing the tremendous stress our family endures. She would not only be sympathetic but also could steer me in the right direction on more than just the situation with Sarah. So thank you for the idea.
The weather here has been rainy, rainy, rainy and when the rain stops it is in the 80s or 90° and terribly humid. One day it didnt rain but was so humid the windows on the house and cars were soaked with droplets of humidity. When its like that it is hard to breathe so I dont take Heather outside during those days.
My flowers and trees are growing. The lilys, amaryllis plants, and japanese iris have already bloomed and wilted. My hostas, butterfly bush (its 7 feet tall), and German Iris are blooming and continue to grow. My Mimosa tree has just started to flower its pink flowers that look like fans. My sisters Maple tree is at least 9 foot tall and has a robins nest in the branches 5 feet off the ground. Mrs Robin comes back each year, so does my family of fox squirrels, foxes, and red wolves. There is also a Carolina panther that roams this area too however I have only seen it once about 5 miles from my home. I am babying my 3 lilac trees (which arent native to this area so our soil does not have the nutrients the tree needs to flourish). I also have a rose of sharon tree and a seven sisters tree. My 7 little trees I am growing are from 18 inches to 3 and a half feet tall. Being outside and playing in the dirt gives me great joy and calms me. If y'all have ideas of other things to plant please share.
I have found the purpose for what used to be Sarahs room. I think I am going to take the bed out and make it the "reading and work out room". It will have a desk with hutch for the computer, entertainment center and book shelves. We have a Wii system that Heather and us love to play and the Wii fit system. It will give us the space to help Heather with her physical therapy. I could still use it for guest bedroom and just air up the queen sized air mattress. What do you guys think? I was thinking sky blue for the walls with pale yellow accents here and there. I think that would make it cheerful.
As far as Sarah. There is nothing new to report except she commented on Sam changing her profile picture. I think she is behaving at that Pastor's house but the real test will come when Sarah gets her check on Friday. She was very frivolous blowing her money, getting a boy to pick her up and then taking off for 2 days. Sarahs $1000 + the $300 she stole from her and my joint account was gone by the end of the 7th day and didnt pay one bill. I wonder if I should inform Social Security that she is blowing the money. She will have to pay it back when she doesnt have receipts for May and June. I had to show receipts and proof that I spent her death benefit check on her. It was supposed to be used like child support since their father passed away. I hate to know that she will be in debt to the government already at her young age. And we all know that if the government doesn't get it paid back they will tack on interest and penalties.
I should go. I have meetings tomorrow and I couldnt walk today due to back pain and my leg feeling like it was on fire. I have high hopes for the appointment on Friday with the spine surgeon.
With love and hugs,
Jina

Hello, everyone - I missed a lot while I was away! It's taken me three days to catch up and I'm not even close. And of course, today our 14 year-old Kenmore washer broke - the door is locked with wet clothes inside, and when it's plugged in, the motor runs, lights flash, and nothing happens. It started doing that mid-cycle. I've called our home warranty service for a technician and I'm sure the wet clothes will be "ripe" by the time he arrives - sometime tomorrow or Friday.

We had an amazing time on the trip and I'll post some pictures here and on FB as soon as I sort through them. I got NO writing done, but my manuscript traveled over 2000 miles in ten days. LOL.

The other crazy thing is that I let my manicurist experiment on me with a new type of glue-on artificial nail, made of gel that gets soaked off every couple of weeks. I let her leave them long, and now I don't know how to type, drive, text, scratch my nose, or anything else. It's hysterical. I feel like a bigger klutz than usual. I'll let you know how it goes.

Jina - I'm in Meredith Wild's readers' group on FB and got Red Ledger while I was away. I'm going to start it this weekend and I can't wait. I love her books and this one sounds VERY unique. I'll review it when I finish it. She's a talented author and a really nice person, too. She's really good to her readers.

I will reply to your updates later - Ray just got home from work and looks hungry. I'm not sure I can cook with these nails on! We'll see...

Paula, Welcome home it sounds as if you had a lovely trip & you had fun even if you didn't do any writing & your nails are to long to do anything anyway: lol. Typical of the washing machine to break down just when you have loads of holiday washing to do. Hope it's fixed soon.

Hello Melinda,
Its been awhile since I have seen you on. I hope life is treating you well. The doctors appointment last Friday went very well. He is very personable and believes in straight talk and mutual respect. Both important in a successful doctor/patient relationship. I go back on the 20th for a consult with the surgeon. Then he is usually backed up for 2 months in advance but leaves some openings for serious cases. Which according to the doctor he might think it needs addressing as soon as possible. The downside is that the hospital where it will be done is around a two-four hour drive depending on time of day. However, taking that into consideration they may have me spend the night to make sure there isnt complications.
Heathers graduation is Saturday noon. I will find the paper and post where you can go watch it if you want. :) I am at least as excited as Heather is, maybe more. I'm so proud of her.
I am not feeling very well tonight so I am going to hit and hay.
Love to all,
Jina

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear Group,
You can watch Heathers graduation around 2pm tomorrow (Saturday). It will be played on YouTube. You can go to YouTube and search North Pitt High school graduation 2018 and you can watch it. Heather will be sitting in front of the rows of people in her wheelchair and her teacher will be sitting beside her. Sarah will be sitting about 5 rows back sitting on the seat closest to the middle aisle. My girls' last name is Korbelik, I had them during my first marriage. (After graduation if Heather still wants too she can change her name and add Gibbs as her last name. She has wanted to do that for awhile but we felt she needed to get through high school first.) After Heather goes on stage to get her dipolma the teacher is going to wheel Heather to the doors going to the hallway and thats where I will come down and get her. They think she will be wore out and overstimulated by then and our leaving early will help us get to our car and get out of the parking lot early. I am glad we wont have to worry about traffic. We arent doing any big to-do afterwards. I didn't feel it was a good idea since Heather cant eat that rules out cake and ice cream. My friend Brenda is coming as well as Heathers teacher and one of Heathers best friends named Chyandre. (Pronounced shy-on-dray). We call her Chy for short. It might be a little hard on Chy tomorrow because she used to be close to Sarah and Sarah will probably think Chy is there for her too but Chy is very upset with Sarah right now. Sarah messaged Chy and told her a bunch of lies and when Chy came over for the afternoon she went in Sarahs room and found a bunch of her clothes that Sarah hadnt had permission to borrow so not only did Sarah lie about several things but also took clothes, and jewelry without asking. Unfortunately for Sarah but she has done it to herself, she has lost friends and family support and most of our friends if she came to their house, would call the police to make sure they arent looking for her again. Sarah will hit rock bottom before the summer is done.
But enough about that. When the ceremony is over, Miss Beth, (Heathers teacher, ) Brenda and Chy will come back to my house and hang out for a while so Heather will feel like its a small celebration.
I hope you all are doing well. I hope the weather has been good to you. I saw pictures of Laramie, Wyoming and the tornados there. Such a scary looking tornado. I hope no one was killed.
Hugs to all,
Jina

I have been working in the garden like a fiend between the massive thunder storms we get this time of year , we had a Monster storm last night ,so no working in the garden today. I still need to get my onion sets in , and plant my squash around my corn, the last of the three sisters. I am try a totally new way , for me that is, to grow corn . This is the way the Indians grew their crop, last year I tried the "Three Sisters way " with green beans next to the corn , so they can climb the stalk and anchor the corn, then you plant squash seeds so they can shade the ground like mulch to keep the water in. I have always grown my corn in rows , but the Native Americans grew theirs in hills, 4 plants to a hill with the green beans and squash planted around the edge. So I made 5 hills , we will see if it works. The potatoes we planted in the new raised beds are growing like crazy, I even got Wolf into planting potatoes this year.

I am re-listening to the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr it has been along time since I have listened to it and I think the first time I have listened to the books all in a row . I am really enjoying the series ! Love Lola

Keep us posted on how the new old way of growing corn is working. I am going to tell my Dad as he is the gardener in our family.
I like to reread and to relisten to books as well , Lola. I pick up different things that I missed the first time. We have not had much rain but when it came earlier this week it was hit and miss. We were at the Post Office and for 10 minutes it came down hard and fast then the sun came out. It is warm and things dried up quickly.

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Melinda,

I will let you know about the corn , I didn't know about growing this way until I saw an article in a garden blog I read. You always need at least 4 rows of sweet corn because it is wind pollenated , this way each hill will pollenate it's self, this is great for small gardens , I zig zagged my hills. I'll have to take a photo when everything is up and growing. We have been having one of those perfect Springs for the last few weeks , hot and sunny then about 4 PM the thunder storms move in . Then the huge rainbows ! ; )Love Lola

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear group,
I dont know about you but I love the Hobbit movies. The books were good but I think the movies paint the story in a more personal way. There are many things I wonder about. Like did Bilbo ever have a wife?. It doesnt seem like he did. That would have been an interesting story as well. Maybe he didnt because he had the all consuming love for "the Ring". For those of you wanting a rainy day thing to do or if the mood strikes.. I wish Fili, Kili and Thorin had not died but instead were carried to safety by the Eagles. In which case, Kili could have had the romance he with Tauriel that they missed out on. I realize Tauriel was the directors and playwrights idea and not in Tolkien books but I love that part of the story. I always wonder "what if?" It seems a precious love that race, height, time did not matter. They seemed soul mates. How would any of you write their story had they lived and were able to love and have a future? I am just curious. This is when I wish I was a great writer and could write their story if for only my enjoyment.
Most of you saw pictures or video of my girls graduation. I am so proud of my girls accomplishments. It was bittersweet and I still am crying many times today but I will be ok.
Love to all,
Jina
Ps my hostas are blooming , so are some of my gladiolas, lilys, Echinacea and 9 foot tall butterfly bush. I had cut the bush back to 8 inches last fall but it grows like gangbusters.

Hi Sis,
Can you post some pictures of your garden? How's your honey crisp apple tree doing? Here they have a shortage of honey bees so the local agriculture place is encouraging people to put out fruit and have bee farms. They also tell us to keep the milkweed plants for the butterflies. I guess there was a bad weather shift in their winter home which killed thousands of monarchs. So if you can plant a few of those as well.
I love you.

Hi Lil Sis,
I will post some photos when everything is growing ,some of the seeds are just popping up. I couldn't believe it , we put the Honey Crisps in last year and one of them bloomed this year and has tiny apples , I was thinking it would be a few more years before they bloomed! I am lucky a home near us has bee hives, when the big pie apple tree is blooming you can hear the hum of the bees from the deck ! That tree didn't have one bloom this year ,it goes in cycles next year it will have so many apples we will have to brace up the limbs because they have so many apples we have had them snap in two. Then the next summer there will be less ,then like this summer none. I have a huge hedge of lilacs the bumble bees love those ,it is fun watching them with all that pollen on their bodies, so much they almost can't fly. Are you getting the heavy rain? We have slipped back into March it has been cold, cloudy and windy the last couple of days .I haven't even been out to the garden for the last 2 days. I need to finish getting my last crop planted, my squash. Man I am ready for some good old crook neck squash! I ate my first brandywine tomato the other day omg better than sex ! lol Love Lola

Dear Sis,
Whats your secret with your lilacs? I am having one hell of a time trying to grow mine. Some people say that lilacs arent able to grow here but if that was the case then why would the nursery be able to sell them here? Any advice is appreciated.
Love you,

Ps. I am so jealous about the tomato. Make a tomato sandwich for me and tell me how good it is. Lol

message 2327: by Lola (new)

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Lil Sis,
I never grew lilacs until I moved up here, I think they like the cooler weather. When I planted them I dug very deep because we have a lot of wind. Keeping them Damp, don't let them dry out but don't over watered. Funny the first bushes we bought ,we put them in the garage waiting for nice weather to plant and a pack rat got in there, it ate about the top 1/2 of the bushes, we planted them any way and they are now over 10 feet tall and almost that big wide.
I had my first BLT the other day with lettuce and a brandywine tomato from my greenhouse OH SO GOOD !! You should see all the lettuce that popped up in my greenhouse all on it's own . I also found a great tasting mayo that is made without eggs ,it uses pea protein . I always liked the taste of mayo but didn't like that it is made with raw eggs. I love "Just Mayo" they also make salad dressings and flavored mayo, I love the Chipotle flavor mayo. You can find it at Wal-mart and on Amazon. Love Lola

I hope everyone is doing well. I can't wait for Emily's next book that comes out in September. I have been reading a lot since I have been going to a lot of appointments.
I went to see the spine surgeon at Duke on Wednesday. He said I am a good candidate for surgery. He said that a couple vertabrae has shifted forward and so the vertebrae under it has slipped back. The ones that are forward are pinching the nerves going to my leg and hips and are responsible for the incontinence. It will be a 2-4 day hospital stay as well as 6 weeks of recovery. Oops I gotta go. But I will be back

Lesley | 669 comments Hi All,
Jina, I'm also glad you have a date for your surgery, but like Melinda I wish it was sooner for you so that your pain was less.
Take care of yourself. Love to you Micheal & the girls xx

We are currently having a 'heatwave' on the East Coast here in Lincolnshire. Probably not as hot as some of the group experience, but hot enough for us. This means watering the garden in the evenings when it's colder as well as doing chores early or late in the day when it's cooler. On the plus side it means I am making the most of the good weather whilst it lasts, sitting in the garden reading a lot with a long cool drink by my side.
Love to all xx

Lesley,
You are doing what we do with a heatwave. It is too hot to do much during the day. Enjoy your garden and the books. Most of all drank plenty of water to stay hydrate while it is hot.

Hi friends—
To those on this side of the pond, I hope you’re having a fun, safe Independence Day. Lesley, stay cool! If I was there I’d fix a big pitcher of Pimm’s. Actually, I have some...and I just might make a batch this weekend! Nothing says summer like Pimm’s Cup.

Ray and I went away for a few days so I’ve been offline more than usual. I got some reading done and it was a nice break from work pressures. Today I’m making BBQ and a belated devils’ food cake for Ray’s birthday. We are taking it easy because it’s been hot here, too. It’s not so bad today, thank goodness. Last weekend while we were at the coast it hit 106 degrees here.

Take care!
Paula

We are still enjoying the good weather whilst we can here, practically living in the garden, jobs, meals etc. We love Pimms anr are alternating between it at long iced Gin and Rose Lemonade or Tonic as well as plenty of water & soft drinks for hydration.
Take care of yourselves

Wow Lola, I’m jealous! I can barely keep basil alive on the kitchen windowsill! And it’s in the high 90’s this week, soon to be the 100’s, so I’ve become a hermit.

Hi Melinda,we’re doing ok but we could do with a bit of rain now as everything is struggling and the grass is going yellow. It would be ideal if it would rain at night and be sunny in the day but I expect once it starts to rain here it won’t know when to stop. Xx

Lola | 1001 comments Hey, It isn't too bad today ,yesterday was HOT!
I need some help . I am thinking about getting breast reduction surgery . I am so tired of always slouching because I have 2 watermelons hanging off my chest. Wolf's not too crazy about it but I am ready. The help I need is info, have any of you had the surgery or know someone who has? I wrote my Niece who has had the surgery but haven't heard back yet. My questions are the common ones ,how do they look , was it worth it, any problems ?
Thanks for any help ! Love Lola

Brandi (poohfanatik) | 117 comments Lola,

I have not had it but am also looking into it in the future. I would be curious as to the answers you get.

It wasn't bad last week for temps. This week a little warmer and sticky as we finally got some rain.

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Brandi,
I got an email from my Niece and she told me to go for it ,it was one of the best things she had ever done for herself ! She said she wouldn't lie, the first couple of days the pain was bad but the pills helped and we are both side sleepers and you have to sleep on your back as much as possible for a few days . I am a 38-40 G I want maybe a D . I was watching a clip on youtube and this woman said something I was thinking the other day ,it pissed her off because she had lost a lot of weight but you couldn't tell because of her boobs. I feel the same way. She got hers done and she looks great. I am checking out surgeons , I think it looks like I will have to go to Bozeman for the surgery , which is about 90 miles from us. I want it done in Oct. after gardening and before the Holidays . I will keep you up on what is happening .Love Ya Lola

Lola | 1001 comments Update, I have a consultation with a Female Surgeon on Aug. 29 , she is very popular ,that is why the long wait for an appointment. They think Medicare will cover the surgery. Most of these surgeries are outpatient so hopefully no hospital time. Love Lola

message 2348: by [deleted user] (new)

Great news, Lola! I know you will feel better after your recovery from surgery. And your clothes will fit so much better, too! Medicare will cover it if it's for medical - not cosmetic - reasons. So if you're having back pain, shoulder pain, or any other symptoms that the doctor can code as a medical diagnosis, it should be authorized. I'm sure the doctor knows how to get it covered for you.

It was 104 here today - it feels like the 7th circle of Hell.

I hope everyone else is doing okay, staying cool and dry in this crazy summer season. Ray and I went to the San Francisco Observatory of Flowers yesterday to see a blooming Corpse Flower - they only bloom out every 7-10 years, and they stink to high heaven for the first 12 hours (hence the name). I'll post a photo of it - and another amazing exotic flower nicknamed the Bat Plant. It was a perfect day, overall. And so much cooler in SF than up here in the valley!

Lola | 1001 comments Thanks Paula , I take the max of Advil everyday because of my back and shoulders , I can't wear a bra for long now because my hiatal hernia is so bad and because I have seborrheic keratosis under my breasts. So it is not cosmetic. I have wanted to do it for years but you know men and their love of boobs ! I finally have had enough, no more rolling over on them at night ,that's really not pleasant lol, or having to move them out of the way to see something, I look down and all I see are boobs. ;>D

It has been hot here too, not as hot as you ,I would rather be below zero than over 100. I love going to gardens we went to the Butchart Gardens in Vancouver BC a few years ago it was just wonderful ,they have a great web site. We have to go back and spend a few days just at the gardens ,no way you can really see them all in one day. Love You, Lola
P.S. I saw the photo of you and Ray on facebook , you two so cute, wanted to pinch Ray's cheeks !

Lesley | 669 comments Lola, I hope all goes well with your Consultantion.

Paula, It has been hot here too, considerably hotter than usual. According to the wather forecast it is supposed to get up to the high 80s/90s here today with the possibility of rain with some flash flooding on Friday then cooler over the weekend. We will have to wait & see, we could really do with some rain because everything is so dry and we have been getting a few 'bush' fires (if we can call our landscape bush), either caused by the heat or people being careless.
Going out for coffee & catch-up, with my Yoga group this morning, it will be nice to see them all but no yoga first as we are currently on Summer break, which has lasted a bit longer than normal this year as our 70 year old Yoga teacher has had a hip replacement. She's not a 'happy bunny' at the moment as she is usually so active.
Look after yourselves everyone in the heat. Love from Lesleyx
