Hi Lesley,So happy to hear you are doing ok. I know what you mean about time and those we lost, it was one year ago last Sept. I lost my Sister, I miss her so much ! Such a good idea about the photobook. Wolf went thru our photos and posted the ones with my Family on Facebook everyone was so pleased ! It was hard seeing how many are now gone.
I am going to do a lot of decluttering .I told Jen that I am going to make boxes for her to go thru and if she doesn't want it is going to the dump or donation. I have so many boxes of things I will never use again.
I am so looking forward to spring ,it is so cold here right now below zero almost every night. Come on warmth! Love Lola
Hi Melinda & Jina, Thank you for the comments on my Photos. My husband, Bob, doesn't usually like having photos taken so I'm really pleased with the ones we had taken on holiday and how well they turned out.Lola, I'm like you & have so many old photos that I've started scanning them to the computer as well as making some photobooks for future generations to see.
As far as the weathers concerned I think I must be suffering from SAD Syndrome this Winter as I cann't summon up any enthusiasm to do anything much, even getting up in the morning is a struggle. Roll on Spring & Summer. Love Lesley
Lesley, loved the pics!! I too have been trying to get pics in better storage.
I am sad at the moment because my pumpkin is at his dad's house. This was the first time he went without too much of a fuss. I think that is what really made it hard.
I was prescribed way back when my divorce got started some anti anxiety med. Thankful for that because it has been helping this winter with that lack of sun depression.
Ladies - I messed up this morning and accidentally deleted one of your posts when I meant to hit "reply" -- I am SO, SO SORRY. I'm not sure which one it was. I've never done that before, so please accept my apologies - Mondays are not my favorite days for sure.
I'm going to get some more coffee and will be back later to reply to your messages, look at Lesley's photos, and add a little update of my own.

Hi Lesley,My what a Dapper Pair in the photos !!! The photos look wonderful !
I know what you mean about the SAD's ,I am making my self get off my butt and start the declutter ! It is so easy to set in front of the TV and waste a whole day. With the Olympics on it is even easier !
Love Lola
P.S. I got one wall of my storage room, it has 3 shelves the length of the wall, cleaned out Yeah !
Lesley,Love the photos. It looks like you had some wonderful peaceful places to visit and sunsets to enjoy.
Hello again --
It's been a busy day, so I've just had a chance to take a look at Lesley's photos and they are awesome! Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
For sure, February is a month for the doldrums. Last week I felt like I was going to curl up in a ball until spring. I was so tired, and nothing interested me. This weekend felt much better, but I admit it's probably because spring has sprung in California. It was 80 degrees on Friday. It's back in the 60's today but everything is blooming. Honestly, that's not good news because we're not having a winter; we aren't getting rainfall; and that spells trouble for fire season, unless something changes, and soon.
I've been spending more time outside and less time on social media and television. When I'm inside, I'm reading or crocheting in my leisure time. I'm also working on some major clinic projects; and re-thinking my book in my head.
I've come to realize that the manuscript is truly in rough, rough draft, and the revisions will be extensive when the time comes. To those of you who have read my ramblings on Wattpad, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. For those who have encouraged me, you can't possibly know how much your support means.
I've learned so much on this first serious writing journey - and the most important lesson is that drafts are just that: a stream of consciousness that eventually forms a story. Getting to the heart of the story, telling it in a way that makes readers want to keep reading, to connect with the characters, to feel all "the feels" - that's the skill. I am still learning how to do that, and it will take a while. I'm content to keep plugging away until those close to me agree it's time to write "The End" and mean it.
I hope you all have a blessed week. Take care

Hi Paula,I am so glad to hear the doldrums are leaving ! It has been so cold here this Feb. below zero every night and a good amount of snow. Seems like a lot of us are crocheting. I found a neat tip about starting rows ,you know how you have to chain 2 or 3 stitches at the beginning of the row ,with this for a double crochet you make a single crochet in the first stitch then a slip stitch on top of that , it looks so much nicer and you don't get that gap like with the chain stitches. I hope you can understand what I am saying, if not there is a bunch of videos on how to do it on YouTube .
We have been watching the Olympics ,some really talented young people! Can you imagine being 17 and having a gold metal ,well 2 of the USA kids can ! I am proud of them! Finally something to cheer about. Love Lola
Hi guys! :)Sorry I haven't been on lately. I have been running around to doctors and taking care of some business and getting my stuff together to get my taxes done. I so hate that hassel of taxes. I sure wish there was an easier way.
Heather turned 21 on Sunday. We really tried to make her day special. She wanted a bonfire but its rained so much that our wood pile is soaked and probably wouldn't burn so we will do that another time.
I also have been watching the Olympics. I love to ski but haven't been in a very long time. I used to ice skate a lot when I was growing up on the farm. We had a pond in the pasture and during the winter it froze over and we were able to skate. I liked skiing more though because falling on the ice hurt a lot more than falling in the snow.
I went to the Doctor today and got my results. I have 3 discs in my lower back that are part of the problem. One is slipped and one is herniated (?), and I have one that has moved to the left and is pinching sime nerves as well as hurting my spinal cord. The doctor talked fast and I really like her. She listens to me and doesnt make e feel stupid like some doctors do. Have you ever had that happen to you? One time I was in the ER and the doctor actually rolled his eyes when I asked him a question. I go to get steroid injections on March 1st to try to get the swelling down and she refered me to the neurology surgeon. She uped my medicine. I told her I wanted what was wrong fixed so I dont have to take medicine.
I hope everyone is doing well. I missed you guys so please let me know what's going on with your lives. What your reading, anything new going on? Take care of yourself.
Hugs to all,
Jina and the girls

Hi Jina,
So pleased that you now know what is causing your pain & hopefully they will soon be able to do something about it for you.
I'm sure that you all made Heather's 21st birthday as special as possible.
In respect of reading I've just downloded Susan Mallery's 'Sisters Like Us', her latest, to read. I'm also reading the 'Seven Brides for Seven Sildiers' series written by a group of Authors. Just finished the first one, Ryan by Barbara Freethy. Also waiting for Emily's latest Eternity Springs book to be avaiable to download. I think we all need an 'Celeste' fix.
I spent time at the weekend with my niece, sorting through old photos to find ones of her Mum, Judy, for my photo-book & remembering the good times. Was emotional but theraputic for us both.
Hope your other problem is on the way to be sorted. Don't forget if you want to private message any of us to 'talk', we are here for you.
Love to you & the girls xxxxx
Hi everyone - I've been down and out with the flu since last Thursday. It wasn't severe -- I got the flu shot, so it could have been much, much worse. But I still spent a lot of time laying in the dark wishing my head would either explode straight off my shoulders or just stop hurting. And just as I started to get better yesterday, Ray caught a bad cold. So now we have man-flu in the house.
I'm behind on work, so I'll be doubling up for the next few days and I also have to get our tax paperwork together for the accountant who helps us file it every year. I managed to read one book, Brooklynaire, by one of my favorite romance authors, Sarina Bowen. It was a fun friends-to-lovers sports romance about a guy who's a tech genius who also happens to own a hockey team. It was a pleasure to read. I watched some chick-flick Hallmark movies, too, and -- of course -- Ray and I have been following the Olympics. We love the skiing and snowboarding events. We both ski, he snowboards, and he's a natural talent at all of it. And you know me -- I have the grace of a grizzly bear on ice skates, and hurt myself all the time, but we have lots of great memories of trips past.
Jina - I'm sorry I missed out on Heather's birthday - please wish her a happy belated one from me.
It's acting a little like winter here now, after weeks of above-normal temperatures. My trees are blooming and now we're expecting a hard freeze overnight. It figures - California has the craziest seasons I've ever seen.
So good to hear from all of you. We know that spring is on the horizon, so just hang in there together and keep sharing glimpses of your winter with us until it's over!

Hi All,I hope this message posts goodreads hasn't liked my last few posts ,it wouldn't let me post. It has been colder here than "a well diggers ass in the Klondike" as Wolf says, below zero everyday.
We have been watching the Olympics too , I am not a big fan of the figure skating. I love the snowboarders and that new Big Air is crazy.
I have been reading a lot of cozy mysteries ,found some new authors that I really like, In less than 2 weeks I listened to all of Karen MacInerney's recorded books, then I found Barbara Hinske and listened to all of her's too , now Leslie Budewitz almost thru all of hers .
Well here we go I have my fingers crossed that it will post. Love Lola
Hi, Lola! SUCCESS! My website kept crashing today while I was trying to post a promotion I missed while I was hiding in the dark, fighting the flu. I had to re-set everything at least once today, including my router, cable box, computer, and even my TV remote! I finally got some work done and now I need to concentrate on some overdue reviews -- and tax papers (shoot. me. now).
YEAH! It posted, Paula, Oh man that flu this year is a real BITCH ! Wolf and I have been staying home as much as possible ,we didn't get the shot this year , luckily Montana is one of the few States with low cases . I have been using a humidifier every night right by my side of the bed , it has helped a lot with my congestion that I have had forever. Thank goodness our taxes are done, it is a lot easier now that Wolf is retired.Oh my they have had some hits on the half-pipe tonight ,those snowboards have some " Big Cajones" Alright David Wise from 9th to Gold Metal !
Love Lola
Paula,Glad to hear that you are getting over the flu.
Jina, Know it is easier to know what you are fighting. Hoping things work so the pain will lessen. Hope Heather's appointments went well.
Lesley,
Glad that you got time with your niece and shared some memories of Judy as well as made some new memories.
Lola,
Glad that you and Wolf are staying well.
Brandi,
Glad that you are able to get back to your hobbies. I have been making potholders as I can do that with out hurting my eye.
I went to the Retina eye doctor and we are just watching things as it seems to be resolving on its own. I go back May 30. My first 8week course did not take due to no students and the 2nd 8 week course does not look like it will either as it only has 2 students and it needs 7 to make it. I have been busy with doctors appointments and test so I know why GOD did not let the first 8 weeks take I would have probably had a constant headache because of using the computer. I am not on much compare to when I am teaching.
It is really warm here but I know some of you are really cold and getting snow. We are going to be getting thunderstorms and rain tonight so the internet will probably get messed up again.
Know all of you are in my prayers.
Thanks Melinda,I saw on the news how much rain the South is getting, crazy ! We had a big snow storm come through, everything is white again. Come on spring ! The tomato seeds I planted in Dec. are huge they have blossoms , I have a grow tent in the basement. Hopefully it will warm up enough to move them into the greenhouse soon. Love Lola

Hi Melinda,
Yes it's lovely spending time with my niece, it's great that she only lives about half-an-hour away from me & that we can be there for each other. We all miss her Mum so much.
Sorry your courses don't seem to be working out but at least it's giving your eye a chance to heal without too much intervention.
Love & hugs to everyone xx
Dear group,Boy am I looking forward to some more of Celeste's caring wisdom via Emily Marchs next book. My husband Michael's Mom just passed away this morning. She went to the hospital right after the first of the year with pneumonia and the flu. They found lung cancer and removed all of the tumor but she still had trouble breathing so they put in a trach tube and put her on a ventilator. She just kept getting weaker. She couldnt eat or drink without her oxygen dropping to critical levels so they took her off the ventilator this morning and she passed 3 hours later. Michael and his brother were by her side when she slipped away from us. Michael and my girls are taking this very hard. Thanks for your prayers. I will get caught up with your posts later.
Hugs,
Jina

Hi Jina,
It's just turned eleven p.m. here in the UK & I've just seen your post about the loss of your Mother-in-Law. I'm so sorry for the loss you are all suffering. I know there is nothing we can physically do for you from this distance but know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all & that we are here if you need to 'talk'.
Love & hugs to you, Michael & the girls xx
Oh Little Sister,I am so sorry for Your Family's loss ! As Lesley wrote we are all here for you ! I am send you and yours a big warm hug! We Love You All! Lola
YEAH!!!!! I downloaded The First Kiss of Spring today , great they already have the audio book! I am waiting until tonight to start after Wolf goes to bed so I can savor every word, I am ready !!!!! Come on Celeste we need you! Love Lola
Does anyone have any idea when the ebook version will be available in the UK via either Kobo or Amazon UK please.I culd do with it to read at the moment as we have 3/4 inches of snow and it's still coming down heavily. Cann't get out of our Avenue with a vehicle at the moment unless we dig out. The wind always seems to blow it our way. Looks like we are walking if we need to go anywhere.
Hope everyone is doing ok,
Love Lesley
Hi Lesley,I looked on Amazon and it has it for the Kindle download is it different in the UK ?
It has been cold and miserable here too, my knee has been hurting something awful. I got a brace with magnets in it today I will see if it helps. The magnet bracelet I wear when my wrist hurts really helps.
I finally got my basement storage room cleaned out, looks empty now lol. I am going to start storing my stuff from Costco down there. I don't know if you have something like Costco, where you buy in bulk, like cases of canned food etc. It is a lot cooler down there. I will have to take a photo of the room now that it is all clean lol. Love Lola
Hi Lola,Thanks for looking on Amazon for Emily's book. Because I'm in the UL Amazon USA won't let me buy it. I'll keep looking on Amazon UK & if it doesn't come available as ebook I'll have to order it as a Paperback.
It's cold here but we only had a small amount of snow fall over night. The biggest problem is the 'wind chill' factor.
Hope the brace works for your knee. There is nothing worse than constant pain.
\we do have companies like Costco here but our houses aren't built with basements now a days so storage is a problem unless you have a big enough garage to shelf an area out as well as garage your vehicle.
Keep warm & take care. Love Lesley x

Lola,
You should feel good that you have got it cleaned out and can see it as finished. I always feel better when I can see a finished project. In Maryland , we had basements. Most of the newer homes in south Mississippi does not build with basements which is crazy as we have tornadoes. Hope your knee feels better.

Lesley,
Do you get much snow normally? How much snow did you get? I ordered the paperback and will get it next week. Hope you can get it as an e-book but at least you know you can get the paperback. I think it would be really bad to know it was released and not be able to get it at all.
Have a good day.

Hi Melinda, We usually get a little bit at some point in the Winter & then every so many years we get a big lot. This year we are calling it 'the beast from the East' as it's coming from Siberria. Trouble is because we don't get a lot every year no one is very prepared & the country comes to a stanstill. We don't get enough to invest in snow tyres/chains etc. Also we have alot of hills in Lincolnshire which doesn't help.
Emily's book is on Amazon UK in paperback for release in April.
Have a good day
Lesley
Good Afternoon ! Yes! The brace has helped a lot! I am sure taking some time off my feet helped too. Thanks ,it does feel good getting things finished . All that cleaning probably added to my knee pain along with the cold weather ." Getting Old ain't for Sissy's " as Wolf says . I need to start up my exercises again , need to get garden fit lol. I love our basement, best place to keep my garden harvest. Love Lola
Thank God, My internet is back on. My #3 son has been in charge of the bill and neglected to pay it. He doesn't stay here much anymore so I didn't know anything about it until it went down. He said the bill had gotten so high he could no longer afford to pay the bill. When he started out it was $99.00 a month. Last months bill was $250.00. I told him to cancel it. So yesterday my #2 son set up just phone and internet and it is only $95.00 dollars a month and we have a better Internet plan. He is much more responsible when it comes to paying bills first before play time. lol. Sorry for referring to my boys in #'s. lol. When the were little I would get mixed up when calling them out and just say "Fred, whatever your name is ..." Now they are #'s lol. Michael is #1, he will be 30 in November. Joseph is #2, he just turned 26 this month, Daniel is #3, he will be 24 in April, and Samuel is #4, he will be 22 in June. I hope everyone is doing well. I have to go back and read all of your posts to catch up on your news. I speak with Jina on Facebook messenger, but aside from that I haven't done much online because my phone is difficult for me to type on and that was the only thing I had internet on.
Lesley, I ordered my copy of " The first Kiss of Spring" on Kindle or I would send it to you. Sorry it takes so long to get Emily's book there. Hope you are weathering the winter well. It has been RAINY here. Big surprise, it is the Pacific Northwest. lol
Paula, you work too hard. I am glad you had some time to get away. You will need another break by the time you finish all you have on your schedule though. Please take care of your self.
Lola, I hope you are feeling better. This getting up in years stuff sure is difficult isn't it? I have aches in places I never knew existed before. lol I am actually feeling better since I no longer have to deal with "Workman's Comp". It took a lot of stress off of me.
Melinda, I pray your vision is improving. I know it has been hard for you dealing with the possibilities. Let's just pray for healing of both your eyes and your stress level. Stress can be quite disabling. Take it from the queen of stress. lol God will give you what you need to deal with whatever the future brings and we are here for you as well.
I posted my site on ETSY just before the great internet fiasco so I have not been able to do anything with it. I have decided to make dolls to begin with. I have always loved making dolls, maybe it comes from having four boys, I don't know, but I just love making them. I will branch out to other things as I can but with it being one third into 2018 I want to get ahead of the Holiday season and get stocked up for gift buyers as well and have an established site. I had hoped to be up and running by Easter but life got in the way. I am in a better place now and can focus on productive tasks.
Don't worry Lola, I will still make your apron. I have it all cut out and ready to sew up, I just didn't have the mental capacity to do so. I am really feeling excited about this venture now. I will let you all know when I have items available so you can check it out.
I am calling my business "Seams by Design" I had other names in mind but they had already been taken so I had to get creative, lol.
Well, I have typed a whole book here so I will sign off for now.
Great blessings to you all..
Peace be with you.
What a fun couple of weeks for me. Some good and some bad.Went on my son's field trip to the bowling alley. That was a blast. Then this past weekend my pilot on my water heater went out and the ex had to come over and show me how to light it. My parents came up and my dad took out an old gas heater on my three season room.
Then today was dental day. $220 plus later (no dental insurance) I find out that I cracked a tooth grinding during the day and that my gum disease has not abated. So hoping for a better check up in July. UGH!!!
Linda, the Esty site sound like a good one. hoping you have luck with it. I love crafting but have an issue making sure i have enough to actually sell. I think I might do a craft show this year to see if it is something I would want to do or not.
Hope everyone is doing better!

Good to hear from you Brandi.
They have an option on ETSY to post items as individual sale. You don't have to take orders. I am going to make the dolls and post them individually. I don't need the stress of trying to fulfill orders, don't think I could handle it. If you make things ahead you can always sell at farmer's markets and street fairs as well.
Hope things take a turn towards a positive nature.
Peace be with you

Hi Brandi, Why do boilers always play up at the most inconvenient times & don't you love Dentist charges (not). We have to pay for our Dental treatment too but are supposed to have access to a National Health Service Dentist but sadly there aren't many around as they don't make enough money from the Government Scheme. Oh well suppose it's the joys of life & way of the world.
So pleased you had fun with your son's bowling.

Lola, So pleased the brace is working for you but please take care of yourself & don't do too much at one time. Sadly as we get older the mind is willing but not always the body, lol. My motto at the moment is 'what doesn't get done today can wait until tomorrow'. Perhaps when the weather improves so will my mojo.
Love Lesley
Thanks Lesley,You are so right, the work will always be there tomorrow . At least my knee is better. I am transplanting my tomatoes I started in Dec. into the greenhouse today, they are HUGE and full of blooms. I need to start the rest of my seeds after that.
Hey Linda, Missed You!!!!! Glad you are back. Funny about the boys ! I know he is not popular right now but it reminded me of one of Bill Cosby's skits , Where the Father yells at one of his sons " Damn it come here! and the boy yells back ,I'm not Damn it, I'm Jesus Christ !"
Love Lola
I remember that Cosby record. lol. Well.the internet is down again. I called get the phone straightened out and now neither one is working. They are sending a tech out to fix this mess. So I guess I will be back in touch on Monday. I am using my phone right now but I have used up my high speed time for the month and it is slow as molasses on a cold winters morning. Take care everyone. I'll be back next week. ❤🙏
Hi, ladies - I got back from the Sacramento trip yesterday and was swept off to dinner by my husband, after which I collapsed. Naturally, all of the great intentions for getting things done while I was out of town went by the wayside and when I wasn't in meetings, I was asleep. LOL. I started First Kiss -- but that's it. One thing I noticed right away is how comforting Emily's writing voice is. It's uniquely Emily and feels comfortably familiar.
We have a three-hour drive in the car tomorrow, about 90 minutes of which is on I-5 -- the most boring, flat stretch of highway in the world -- so I'm planning to read on the way to Easter lunch with the family. Unless I fall asleep in the car...
I hope you all have a blessed Easter. If you made any new recipes or did anything fun -- check in and let us know!

Happy Easter! I miss not having a little one to make a basket for, and eating all the best chocolate candy lol. I remember one year we got Jen this Huge bunny that became her reading headrest lol. She is a reader like her Mom. Love Lola
Hi Ladies, hope you all had a lovely Easter & that your weather was better than ours here in Lincolnshire as it was cold & very wet.Just to let you know that I'm likely to be off-line for a while as we are soon travel to France for a Wedding & a visit with friends. Love to all x
Imagine my surprise when I went into my pantry room and my Christmas Amaryllis was in bloom, 4 huge red blossoms on one stem. They are over 5 years old , 2 more have blooms coming. A sweet surprise on Easter. Love Lola
How cool, Lola!!!hope everyone is doing good! I am trying to make a dent in my arc tbr stack. Ugh! Such good authors hard to decide which to do first when so many have the same release day.

Thanks Brandi ,I was in the winter blues and the flowers lifted me up! Speaking of winter blues , does anyone have a recipe for Punxsutawney Phil groundhog stew ? lol I am sick of winter ! It was 8 degrees when we got up yesterday! Thank goodness I had cranked the heater in the greenhouse all the way up. All the plants are good.

I know, right. The best pic i have seen so far is that winter is really angry and stomping out of the roon only to come back and say "and another thing"
Hello again -- Finally back and recovered from three trips to Sacramento in six days. We had five inches of rain in 24 hours, then the temperatures went from the 50's to the 80's and now our plants don't know what to do with themselves. But the wonderful thing is, the grape vines have buds on them, and that means spring is here for real this time.
I haven't made a dent in The First Kiss of Spring. I've been too tired to read or do much of anything else, and today I have a lot of work to catch up on, so I hope to get some reading OR writing done as a reward later.
Thinking of all of you - those who are still in the throes of winter, stay warm and dry!
