Hello, again -- long time no read! And I'm loving all the reports from you all, from cruise preparations to books to projects to housecleaning and hobbies, it's a joy to read. It will take me DAYS to respond, so bear with me. Work is absolutely crazy this week, especially since I lost a couple of days due to illness. The one-hour commute up and back is as exhausting as the work day itself, and with the scorched earth all around, it barely feels like autumn at all.

Nevertheless, the flip side of the coin is that when a beautiful, untouched tree emerges from the blackened landscape, beautifully red or yellow, it's a reminder that life goes on and nature has its cycles, beautiful and not-so-beautiful. The farther I go north, the less the damage, so the drive itself can be quite relaxing sometimes.

I did manage to write and edit a little bit in the last couple of days, which makes me deliriously happy. This story is burning a hole in my soul, but I've had to resign myself to taking it slow. Too much pressure at work and at home right now, and new ideas take shape that need time to explore as I look at the book as a whole. I know there are at least three more rounds of revisions ahead, but first I have to FINISH the first draft all the way to the end. I'm at 70,000 words, with about 30,000 to go. And things are just heating up, with plot twists out the wazoo!

Jina - Diana's work area is not all that tidy - picture a big old antique desk (American Colonial period), piled high with books and papers. I also picture an old desk chair - something her father might have used - probably wood. Maybe with a big cushion in the seat (like a pillow). Diana herself isn't fussy about fashion or decor. She loves the old, family feel of her home.

Speaking of which, I had a craving to drop everything and read the first book in that series again while the fires were burning. It was comforting in its wonderful way, and I fell in love with that vampire all over again. I swear...makes me want to be immortal in the worst way -- LOL.

Right now I'm catching up on some books I was given to review - probably nothing I'd recommend here, but one lively romantic comedy and one good old-fashioned down & dirty romance. Next up is another romantic comedy and a sports romance. Then I'm taking a break from reviewing to read the rest of the All Souls Trilogy again.

We hope to have rain tomorrow -- praying it doesn't stay north of us. It would help our exhausted firefighters so much.

I'm off to work again now -- I'm off on Friday and come heck or high water, I'm WRITING. And cleaning my dusty house. I feel like we're all coated in a layer of ash. Because we probably are. But we are so fortunate to have remained safe that I can't complain about a layer of dust covering up the cat and dog hair around here! LOL.

Back soon -- take care & hugs to everyone.

P

Ummm....this could only happen to me, this week. Seriously. On my way out the door to go to work, I rolled my ankle and ended up sprawled on my front porch looking at the sky, with my dog staring at me like..,”Way to go, Grace!”

It may be sprained. I limped back into the house and have it on ice.

The Universe has spoken.

Wow! I am so sorry you are hurt. It sounds like the same way Sarah broke her fibula a couple weeks ago. She just stepped off the school bus and her ankle went sideways and snapped the fibula bone just above the ankle bones. Maybe the universe is telling you to slow down. I hope it heals quickly. Maybe today you are meant to stay put and write.
Your description of Dianas desk is so similar to what I was thinking in my minds eye. I also pictured a floor lamp beside it kinda tiffany style with fringe on the shade. We are enjoying reading the book and with knowing we are doing the dollhouse to go along with ir, it seems we are reading it a different way than any other book we've read. We have stopped several times to google images or sketch a scene. We are enjoying it immensely.
Keep us posted about the ankle.
Love you,
Jina and the girls

Night has fallen and the ankle is sore, but it’s just a mild sprain. Ice and Advil saved the day, especially since I have to work at the clinic tomorrow. I got a lot of Clinic paperwork done here today, then starting reading a book that made me break a sweat. :-D

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Hi gals,
I hope everyone is doing well and has positive things going on. Sarah went back to school yesterday. She was glad to be back in school but a teacher called me to get permission to give Sarah one of Sarahs pain medications. And Sarah called me about 2 oclock crying. She was still in pain and the kids were being mean. They were trying to block her knee scooter so she couldn't get to her classes on time and making fun of her and her falling getting out of the bus. I so hate bullies. I dont understand the whole "kick someone when they are down " mentality. If it gets worse and she is having trouble with the scooter I will see if she can be homebound for the month she's in a cast. The cast is already cracking by her big toe. I went to the doctor again yesterday. I got results from my tests. I have very low glucose, high bad cholesterol count, its supposed to be under 200. Mine was 330. Looks like my most everyday BLT is going to have to go. But I LOVE bacon! They told me to do turkey bacon, to cut out white bread, white rice and pasta and to skip the carbonated flavored vitamin water and just drink regular water. Did you know that the processing to white the flour white and rice white has some sort of chemical reaction that if you have inflammatory issues, eatting the white versions will make you get more inflammation? I didnt know that so I am trying a sort of detox diet for two weeks. No pasta, rice, bread and cutting down on sugar and drinking 300milliliters of water each hour I am awake for the next two weeks and see how I feel after. The prednisone made my arms legs, and face swell too so the water should help clean out the steroids. They put me on a statin for the cholesterol, a medicine for the vertigo and pain patches for my back and neck. The doctors said I need to try to enroll in the obamacare when open enrollment starts on November 1st. They said and I quote "you really need to reapply before (they paused) before certain things go into effect. It will mess you up if you don't." I dont know what they are talking about but I am going to do some research and see if I can figure it out. I am glad they gave me a heads up. On other news, I have been reading, doing crafts, and writing lately. My moms side of the family has had 4 babies born last month. Such cuties!!!! Makes me miss my girls being tiny. I am getting sentimental with my youngest girls both graduating high school this year. Sarah brought home Heathers and her packet to order graduation announcements, tassels, hoodies and sweats. Fall colors are gorgeous right now. I am also loving the breezy autumn weather.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Love,
Jina

Ps thanks again for the wheat germ oil capsules. I have noticed the waistband on my jeans is loose so I am curious to see how much more it effected me when the steroid swelling goes down. Thanks for looking out for me!

Lola | 1001 comments Hey Lil Sis,
I love those Wheat germ oil capsules ! Wolf and I were walking around in Wal-mart and he looked over at me and said "You need to get a belt ,you look like one of those teen boys with their pants hanging down !" lol I was having to pull up my pants all the time and these were my skinny jeans. YES!
You know Wolf is diabetic, so we have to watch his white food , we have a bread here that is whole wheat white bread ,it is really good ,doesn't taste like you are eating straw like some whole wheat does. I have also gotten him to use agave syrup if he needs sweetener ,it has a higher glycemic rating than sugar so you only use a very small amount. I don't like artificial sweeteners , I think they make you crave sugar . I use whole grain pasta too ,it takes a little getting use to . And bacon is about the only meat I will eat. I love my BLT with my fresh tomatoes. Love Lola

Hi, everyone --

It's been quite the week again, primarily due to the enormous project deadline I'll be under until November 14th. I'll be working 7 days a week until then, although they won't necessarily be 8-hour days (some will be 12, some will be 6...) - the pressure is relentless, and I answer to the Executive Director and Board President. Some of the pressure is my fault because I don't think I realized how complicated things were going to get and my anxiety issues caused some serious procrastination, avoidance, and denial. Anxiety is a curse and I've had it all my life. I'm paying for it now and will be until the compliance survey is over on November 16th, then I'll have a short break before the project moves into phase 2.
I'm going to need to up my meditation and relaxation game if I'm going to make it through the next few months without going nuts.

Jina - ABSOLUTELY, you must enroll in the ACA insurance program or you will pay dearly. All of the conditions you've listed are "pre-existing" and will be EXCLUDED from your insurance if you don't get in the program now. Your out of pocket costs will be astronomical. Don't spend too much time on research - find out the preferred ACA insurance providers in your state and get enrolled.

Also, I do believe our current political environment and culture shift has empowered bullies. Our role models are not role models anymore. It is up to us to fight back against such cruelty, in all its manifestations. Sarah deserves better - we all do. If authorities won't stand up to them, it is up to us to do what's best for our family and our fellow humans.

Re - healthy living

You are all correct about the white flour, white rice, and white sugar issues. I took a lifestyle boot camp three years ago and what I learned about how these foods are processed would curl your hair. I went cold turkey with whole-grain bread and pasta, brown or wild rice, and natural unrefined sugar, honey, agave; I also reduced dairy products and buy organic, non-GMO, non-antibiotic foods when possible. I won't say I follow it every day - I give in to a need for a good non-veggie burger and a lean steak every once in awhile, and I even cheat with some bacon for those BLTs, but it's rare these days. But I am also vigilant about drinking water and trying to get as many steps in every day as I can.

Have I lost any weight? No, but that's because my exercise is inconsistent, primarily. My cholesterol is still too high, but that's genetic and again, I need more exercise. However, when I was exercising and eating vegan/vegetarian, my total cholesterol dropped 40 points in one month. Diet, exercise, and water make an enormous difference in your health. I have to get back on that exercise wagon and stay there. (If for no other reason than I can drink my daily glass of wine and the occasional incredible margarita. LOL.)

I am going to pick up wheat germ oil capsules when I go to the store. And my husband swears by Red Yeast Rice, which is a natural statin - his total and LDL cholesterol has come down tremendously and he's not good at exercise, either. My problem is I can't remember to take supplements as I should.

Anyway, this is a long post and I'm rambling. I have to get to work, because Ray wants to see Geostorm tonight - we love a good disaster movie.

I hope you are all having a peaceful weekend. Take care.

Paula

Try not to stress too much with your project Paula, even with deadlines' you can only do what you can do'. Also, no man is an island, if you need help ask as if you make yourself ill and aren't there it will not get done anyway.
Jina, I know I don't live in the USA but I agree with Paula you must register for Medicare ASAP, particularly because of the 'politics' around it over there. Love & hugs from Lesley xx

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Sisters,
Sorry I have been MIA . I got a call from the Jaw Specialist that my Dentist referred me to , I'm going to see him on Halloween lol. Perfect day for something so scary! Our son-in-law came over the other day and cut down our 2 giant Cottonwood trees. They were really getting too big and too close to the windows in the living room. It was warm enough today that Wolf and I got the rest of the wood stacked out by the road, so if someone wants it they can have it. Not much else happening here. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Lil Sister you better listen to all your Big Sisters and get some Insurance! I wouldn't even be thinking about going to the Jaw Guy if we didn't have Humana Medicare Supplement Insurance. Just the first visit is $250.
Paula,
I hope everything has settled down a little for you! I only worked for a short time before Jen was born so I have no idea how you do it! All of you who work then come home and do all this work have my respect. Love Lola

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Hi guys and ghouls, (lol :) )
Tomorrow is Halloween. Here in the states on the cable channel Freeform it has been the 13 days of Halloween. I have enjoyed shows like Hocus Pocus, Men in Black, Harry Potter series, Twilight series, Mirror Mirror, The Princess Bride, Nightmare before Christmas (which I dont quite understand but I so love the graphics, Tim Burton is very talented.) I havent seen one of my all time favorite Charlie Brown show "the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". I dont watch scary shows. I am prone to horrible nightmares as it is so I stay away from the cinematic gore. When I was a teenager I could watch Friday the 13th or Freddy Kruger but I had to have a pillow (to cover my eyes when the music started to play eerily or the "hehehe hahaha" would start. When the scary part was over the pillow would go down to my lap and I would get ready for the next scary part. Whats your favorite halloween show? What are you going to do for Halloween evening?
Lola, thank you Big Sis. I have an appointment next week to go over insurance options so cross your fingers that its affordable.
Paula, I hope all is well with you. Take care of yourself.
Melinda, hows school? Anything special for the holidays?
Hi Linda and Lesley, let me know what you've been doing lately.

Hi Sis,
Let me start by saying "I love you" . I am so sorry that you had such a wasted and nerve wrecking couple days for nothing.
I have some ideas of where you could go. First one is... is there a dental college near you? Those are teaching colleges and might be able to help for a reasonable fee or might take Medicare. Is there an Agape medical clinic near you? Or a free clinic, most free clinics and Agape centers have a version of a dental clinic attached to them. Important thing to note about free clinics is that they work with other dpctors and can refer you to who they know can help you. There was a "dental clinic" here last weekend. 75 dentists set up shop in a church and school gymnasium and started seeing people for free for fillings extractions, cleanings and orthodontic work. They started at 6 am and closed at 9 pm for 2 days. They were able to help over 2000 people! Dental care is hard to come by in our area so they do these clinics every 6months or so. If I had known about it in time I would have taken Sam to it. She has 6teeth they need to be pulled. She doesnt want then crowned or whatever, she's tired of one or more teeth hurting so she wants to have the top teeth pulled and get a plate. She is VERY scared of dentists so she would have to have laughing gas or be sedated.
I hope you find someone who can help you.
Love and hugs
Jina and the girls

Linda (lindamanthey) | 413 comments Hi ladies.
Sorry I have been MIA. After I made it through all of the guys being sick, it hit me in a big way. Today if the first day I have felt like doing anything. I was out of one of my medications or I probably would not have left the house at all. I called Rite Aid to see how much it was going to be and she said it was $119.00. I hung up and got online. I found a company call GoodRX that contracts with local pharmacies to discount drugs. I got all three of my medications for
$57.00 at my local Fred Meyer (Kroger in some parts of the country) Can you believe that.
Rite Aid charged me $339.00 last month for just one of the same medications. And they are all generic drugs so they should not be so expensive. I hope I never have to go there again. What a bunch of crooks. We will not be enrolled in insurance again until after Dave returns to work this coming Friday.
Hope everyone is doing well. Not much to report around here. Fall lasted a couple of weeks and we are on to winter, lol. It was 35 degrees at 4 pm today. Who knows, it may be back up in the 60's next week the way things are going this year.
Tomorrow is my oldest son's birthday. Michael will be 29. He is coming over and I am making his favorite baked potato soup. I am looking forward to seeing him, it has been a while. I am hoping he will stay the night.
Lola, you should go online to AARP and see if you can find a dentist who will take Medicare. You might find some information there. Or 1-800 DENTIST.

Jina, hope you and all the girls are well. I feel like I am out of touch with everything. Is Sarah's ankle healing well? How is Heather's project coming?

Paula, I pray you are in good health as well. You have been under so much stress lately, please take time to meditate and spend time in a quiet place where you can forget about things for a while. I have started reading my momma's bible every night. She has thoughts written in the margins and passages underlined with notes to the side. It is both emotional and comforting.

Lesley, congratulations on your new Grand Nephew. What a joy to welcome a new life into the world. It is wonderful you were able to see your family and spend some time with them.

Melinda, I pray you are doing well.

I am going sign off for now. I am tired and want to rest. It has been so hard to breathe I have not been sleeping well. I seem clearer tonight so perhaps I will sleep through the night.
Take care everyone.
Love and prayers
Linda

Linda (lindamanthey) | 413 comments My heart is breaking for the citizens of Sutherland Springs Texas. The thought of another house of God being the target of a mass murder scene just brings me to tears. I don't understand how people can have so much hate inside of them that they choose to murder innocent, unsuspecting families as they stand in prayer at their house of worship. This world is so messed up. And then social media uses this horrific event to press a political agenda. "Vote for me I am for gun control" It's just sickening. and others saying in response to a call for prayers saying "We don't need more prayer" or "It does no good to pray we need gun control" So Sad. God didn't cause this to happen. He gave man free will and they choose to do evil things. He promised to comfort us in troubled times, and He will give us the strength to get through the horrors of this life. He will not take away or choice to do right or wrong. It is evil personified that causes these events. Only Love can heal what is wrong with this world. If people would begin to accept one another and Love them for who they are and not decide to judge and hate people for their differences we could begin to create a United States once again.
I am sorry for the rant but I am just overwhelmed with sorrow for the state of our nation. I think I need a break from Facebook and Twitter because I can not deal with the ugly, negative responses. I was raised to show compassion and love to the hurting, not rub salt in their wounds.
I WILL pray for the people of Sutherland Springs Texas. And I WILL trust that a loving God will give them what they need to recover from this act of evil.
Love you, Linda

Lola | 1001 comments Good Morning Sisters of my Heart,
What a sad day in my Home State ! Linda I too can not think what can cause a person to do this! I am posting my word for today because we need to read it, and really feel it.

Guidance
I follow my guidance with faith and gratitude.
Monday, November 6, 2017

Following the guidance of Spirit requires faith on my part. In quiet moments of prayer and contemplation, I recognize that Divine Essence permeates my being because I am a child of God. As such, I live from the inside out when I first turn to Spirit within for direction.
I am guided by the divine spark of infinite knowledge and love. The potential to be all that I can be is always within me. I believe, and I take that belief to the ultimate level of fulfillment by living that faith.
The veil of my once limited consciousness falls away, and I now see clearly through the eyes of Spirit. I follow my guidance with faith and gratitude.

Blimey Lola, that's cold. Perhaps a silly question but, why open the doors under the sink in the kitchen? xxx

Hello, friends...I’m MIA and I’m so sorry. I’ve worked 17 days in a row and all I do right now is work and sleep. Literally. I ate a huge donut for supper last night because all I wanted to do was eat and go to bed. The end is in sight though, because a week from tomorrow the big deadline will be over and I’m taking off through Thanksgiving. Then I hope to write for the first time in a month. I’ve squeezed in a few books while driving, though, so that helps offset some of the stress.

This work project is a hot mess. I can’t fix everything I’ve found that needs fixing. I tend to take that personally, but not this time.

I got some feedback from an author I respect about the first two chapters of my book. It was a good mix of supportive and critical. There was one thing that bothered me, not in a defensive way, but because I think she’s represented a view I hadn’t heard before and need to consider. When I have time and am ready to finish the story, I’ll go back and take a hard look at the beginning once again. She said it didn’t “hook” her and make her want to keep reading. It takes too long to get to the good stuff. But the hard editing (cutting!) comes later, after the whole story is laid out. I can’t wait to get there. 😊

In the meantime, I’m off to work again, but know that I manage to think of you all several times a day. I’ll catch up on your posts a bit later. Just dropped in to say hello...

P

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Hello group and Happy Thanksgiving! One of the things I am most thankful for are the friendships and sisterhood we have made here.
To Big Sis Lola, Happy birthday! I know I am late saying it and I hope you had as special a day as you are.
I have good news and bad news to share. Monday morning it was raining and Sam had taken Sarah to school. The floor in the office was wet and so was Sarahs crutches so the crutches went out from underneath her. She fell and when shee tried to get up she fell again. Sam brought her back home and made and took her straight to her orthopedics dr. They took the cast off, re-xrayed her leg and foot. She broke and dislocated her big toe and broke the toe next to the big toe on the same side as her broken fibula. The doctors say the fibula shows no sign of healing they are giving her until tje end of the month to show improvement or they will discuss the option of surgery. Sarah is pretty down in the dumps right now. She says its her senior year and she is missing all the fun stuff that she wont get a chance to do again.
Good news: Heathers mouth is healed from the wisdom teeth that got pulled earlier this year so now she can start the appointments to fix her jaw displacement. To refresh your memory, when Heather had her heart attack in 2013 her jaw clenched shut and the EMTs had to pry her mouth open to intubate her. By doing so they dislocated her jaw. The tube was taped on her mouth for 21 days. She was finally well enough and we finally found an orthodontist that wasnt afraid to work on her. Most Doctors are leary of touching Heather due to her fragile conditions. So please pray that surgery can go forward and she will be much better, I am hoping her talking, swallowing, eatting and the pain will get much better with that fixed properly.
On to me, the medicine they gave me for Vertigo has helped tremendously. I only have about 6-8 spells a week instead of 6-8 each day. I go back to the Dr. Monday so I am going to try to get more potent pain patches for my sciatic nerve issues.
My husband Michael and I are going through a rough path right now. There is so much stress and anxiety that we are barking at each other and its tense. I know we will get through it but I hate fighting, and all I really want from him is a kind word once in a while instead of just telling me what I am doing wrong, not getting done etc... I am praying about it hard lately. He is my soulmate and my rock. He is the one who calms me and usually would tell me it all is going to be ok. It seems now he is the anxious and stressed one amd I dont know how to convince him it will be ok.
Thanks for listening. I hope everyone has safe travels for the holidays and get to spend the time with those you love.
Love and hugs to all,
Jina and the girls

Hi Jina, hope you are all able to relax a little and enjoy your Thanksgiving. We are here to listen and help when we can, all be it from a distance.
Poor Sarah, I feel for her.
I'm sorry you and Michael are going through a rough patch. You are both carrying such 'a heavy load' at the moment it's not surprising things are tough. Just a thought, but is it possible there is something else he is worried about but doesn't want to burden you? You know what men are like for not talking about what's worrying them, well I know what Bob's been like especially lately.
Love & hugs to all
Lesley

Hey Sis,
Well you certainly have had a busy week haven't you? Glad to hear Heather is healing well. I think you are right, she will probably make better progress with her other problems when she has her jaw problem corrected. I know mine used to lock up when I would get stressed because I would clench my jaw at night. My dentist made me a mouth guard and eventually it got better. It was like a denture that covered my bottom teeth, I bit a whole right through it once, lol. I know how painful it can be.

I am sorry to hear about Sarah. Bless her heart, she has had a time hasn't she? It stinks that she is missing fun times at school. I know from experience she needs to do her best to not walk on it and to ice it the way the doctor's tell her too. I had the same problem with my ankle not healing. It did not heal until they put me in the cast and I had to stay off of it. I tried to do too much and would forget to do the ice thing. I pray it will heal without surgery.
I am glad to hear the Vertigo is better. My grandmother suffered from that.
As for you and Michael, Stress can do terrible things to the human body and spirit. I know when Dave is upset about something he always seems like he is angry. My dad was the same way. That is just their way of expressing how they feel. Every little thing seems to be more pronounced and bigger than it should be. If he is worried about something he may not feel like he can express it with words. I think it would be good if the two of you could get away for some time alone, but with things so up in the air, it is probably not the most convenient time for that to happen. Some quiet time alone to talk and just be a comfort to one another would be great, even if it is just a drive alone for the afternoon. If you don't talk about things they just grow and fester and then become bigger problems. I am praying with you for peace and Solace. God has the answer, we just need to hear His voice and follow His direction. Sometimes it is so hard to "Be still and wait upon the Lord" but it is all we can do when we don't know which way to turn.

Proverbs 4:11-12New International Version

11
I will instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths.
12
When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
when you run, you will not stumble.

Okay, I have preached my sermon for the day, I will quit. lol
I truly do hope all is well with you. Life can be so unfair, and we humans can be so impatient when it is. Keep looking up Sis, things will get better, I know they will.
I pray for you daily and trust the Father to keep you in His care.
Love to you and the girls
Linda.

Hello, friends --

After six wild weeks of work, life has returned to baseline...and I am so relieved that this past week, in particular, is behind us. Ray's call schedule was brutal, I was working out of town, and we only saw each other in passing. But he's off this weekend, I'm off until Tuesday, and even when I go back to work it will be back to part-time. The government inspection is finished and it was the best survey we've had in eight years, so all the hard work and long hours paid off. Honestly, yesterday I didn't know what to do with myself. For a little while, it felt like I'd forgotten how to relax. But I'm over that now, LOL. I got my nails done, went out for supper, and slept in. Sometimes you have to "reset" your life by jumping the treadmill.

Jina -- I can imagine that things are even more stressful with Sarah's injuries. Girls are emotionally challenging, even on the best of days, and the teenage years are incredibly tough without the burdens of injuries and illnesses. It can be difficult to take a step back for a dose of fresh perspective.

But I do know one thing: sometimes you have to put your marriage first. Men need more reassurance than we often realize. They spend a lot of energy trying to look strong and fearless and sooner or later it catches up with them. If there is any way that you and your husband can take even a few hours away to reconnect with something you both enjoy, you need to do that. Try to set your tensions aside and give yourselves space to breathe. Take the pressure off, or give it an outlet. It will be worth it. In the meantime, take care of yourself and as always, take it one step at a time.

I'm going to read and write a bit this weekend, then embark on a long-overdue housecleaning frenzy. It's time for a good, heartwarming holiday read--so throw out some suggestions if you find a book you love.

Later, ladies.
Paula

Dear Lil Sis,
Thank you for the Birthday wish, it was a clam do nothing day ! Just the kind I like.
I am so sorry you are going thru all this, Poor Sam! I can understand where she is coming from , you only get one Senior year. I send Heather and Sarah good health prayers. Does Michael have a favorite meal maybe you could ply him with food then ask what is on his mind. They sometimes think we are mind reads but we aren't , lol we are Emily readers .I can't wait for the new book! Any idea who this one is about?
I have a cold and I'm getting tired I had better stretch out . Love Lola

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear Group,
Thanks for the help and advice. I found out Michael suffers from similar to survivors guilt. He wasnt there when Heather collapsed. He has formal first aid training along with CPR certification. He wonders if he had been home could he have helped her more than what I was able to do (me without training, I did my best at CPR for 13 minutes until the EMTs came and shocked her 4 times. My girls and I still have nightmates about that morning. I had no idea Michael blamed himself at all. He doesnt spend much time here at the house but he makes sure when hes home he gives her love and teases her like he used to. We went to our friends wedding in April and Michael asked Heather to dance with him. Thete wasn't a dry eye in the building. It will take time for all of us to get over this and accept all that comes with it.
Love to all,
Jina

Dear Lesley,
Thanks so much for the advice. I hope your Bob is better soon. My Michael gets gruff and quiet and the only things he says is orders or complaints. For instance: "whats for supper? ... We just had that. Make me a sandwich instead." "Did you get my work jeans washed and dried? I need them for work tomorrow." "We never have anything decent in this house." So I get quiet and walk on egg shells. I hate to say it but here lately I have a sigh of relief when he leaves because it seems like i dont even breathe properly when he gets like this. He was never like this before Heather got sick. Its hard to know what to say or do. I try to make sure all the laundry is done, food is ready when he gets home, the house is clean for the most part. I try not to afd to his stress. He even yelled at me in front of our friends one day about a month ago. When he walked off my friends were asking "whats up with him?" One even said "I would of told him to $&+# off if he talked to me like that." My simple response was "I love him and there must be something wrong for him to be like that. I will give him time to tell me"
Men are complicated creatures. If there was a manual on knowing how to handle men I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Love you,
Jina
