Dear Linda,
Yes we are so very blessed to have this group of wonderful caring and fun women to lean on and enjoy books and learning about each other. I thank you for your prayers and kindness. I know you would come and help if you could. :) Sometimes I wish we all lived in the same area so we could have a spa day or try our hand at "glamping". We would have such a great time. Maybe one day we will have an Emily March get together somewhere in Colorado. If I win the lottery someday you can bet your boots we will!!!! Anyway, thanks for the love Sis. :)
Hugs,
Jina

Hi, We have had a reasonable summer weatherwise for the Uk so cann't really complain. Emotionally we are still on a 'rollercoaster ride' taking one day at a time. We had a family 'get together' on our August Bank Holiday Weekend (approximately 30 of us) at our home as we usually do which was a new starting point for us all without Mark & Judy. Full of emotions but lovely to see the younger generations getting together.
With our other son, John's blessing we are going on a Caribbean Cruise over Christmas & New Year, which will definately be a different type of Christmas & New Year. It will also be Bob's (my husband) 70th birthday on 1st Jan. I've got very mixed emotions about being away from everyone at that time but I'm sure we'll enjoy it when the time comes.
Try and rest as much as you can & look after yourself. Love & hugs to all xx

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Hi group,
I know this is random but I have a couple questions for y'all.
I'll start with the easiest.
Whats your favorite gemstone? Why?
Next is Heather has to do a senior project. She has to read a book and she decided to do a dollhouse made up like a possible house belonging to the time period of the novel. Any suggestions????
Love to all,
Jina
Ps thanks for your answers

Hi, my favorite gemstome is Opal as it's my birthstone.
Sorry cann't think of a book to help Heather, hope someone else in the group might have a suggstion. Hope your health is improving xx

Hi Jina...my favorite stone is the sapphire, my birthstone, although I love diamonds, opals, and amethysts as well.

My favorite book has a house as a character! The story deals with the history of magic; the house has a personality. It makes new rooms when it needs to hold more people, slams doors when people need privacy, and protects secrets. The setting is modern Massachusetts but the house was built in colonial times. There is a picture of it on my All Souls Trilogy board on Pinterest.

The name of the book is A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. It is my favorite book - and series - of all time. I have four copies of it...hardback, paperback, audible and ebook. I take it everywhere I go.

It's interesting in that magic co-exists with faith and religion in this series. That's part of its beauty.

Highly recommended.

Paula

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Little Sister,
My favorite gem stones are Amethyst and Emeralds my two favorite colors. One of my favorite Houses in a Novel has got to be Tara from Gone With The Wind. lol That makes me think of Carol Burnett coming down the stairs with that drape !!!! That show was nice, clean FUN, no cursing there. I wish they would bring that show back on reruns like MASH which is still funny too. Love Lola

Hi, Sis, My favorite gem stone is Ruby. As for the book, I loved Anne of Green Gables. I read the whole series. I think I may still have some of them in a box somewhere. They usually have them at used book stores or thrift store. I'm sure Amazon has them.I have always wanted a house like the one in the story, with a wrap around porch. I think she would enjoy reading them. Love to all, Linda

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Thank you so much for your answers. We are going to try a two-fer. The house in Discovery of Witches AND Anne of Green Gables. We are making most of the furniture and accessories from clay and fabric as well as Im going to cross stitch rugs, bedding, make mini quilts etc with plastic canvas and perforated paper. We are going to make 2 sets of scenes. 1 for each book. Somethings will work in both but it will be great fun and therapeutic for Heather to make things hands on for her house. Thanks again.
Ps. You can help us further by sharing possible patterns, furniture etc from pinterest or whatever that would help Heather and I be accurate as possible to design her house.
Love you,
Jina

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear group,
Today is my appointment with the doctor at 2pm. I hope I can get some answrrs about this pain and fatigue. I need to get better quickly or at least be taught how to manage this better. Please say a prayer that they can help me. Up until this hospitalization the last time I saw a doctor was in the emergency room when I had scarlet fever in January this year. Before that it was in November 2013. I lost my insurance Jan 1st 2014. I got the evil eye from the hospital doctors once they see I havent done at least check ups. I explained about tight on money and that the 24/7 care my 2 youngest daughters require which means simply that I dont have time to be ill. I appreciate all the get well and supportive funny emails. Y'all lift me up. Thank you. I am well and truly blessed.
Love to all,

Hope you get some answers , Jina.
You need to take care of yourself but doctors can be expensive. Maybe there are clinics that are free or you pay according to your ability to pay. When I lived in Baltimore there were some because of all the medical schools.

I think the current flu makes you fatigue for long after it has gone. My students have the flu going thru the student body and they are dragging.

You are in my prayers, dear girl. I am so relieved to know you are getting to see the doctor. Perhaps they can help you find a way to get medical coverage that is affordable. I will be in the same boat in about four months so I have to start looking for a solution before long. My doctor is suggesting some possibilities for me.
We really need to take care of ourselves so we can be available to help our family when needed. I am feeling so much better on this new medication. I thank God for my new doctor. Well, she is a nurse practitioner, but she specializes in psychiatric medications and she knows what will work in the best way. She is a God Send. I pray you find the answers you need today. God will provide what you need, I know He will.
Bless you, my dear sister.

Happy Birthday Paula !!!! I wish you a peaceful Day!

Dear Little Sister,
I am re-listening to the series because they are releasing almost all of the books ,I think only one is left to record. Gab goes to see his family in "Callahan Carol" .Then in Book 2 , Hummingbird Lake, it is mentioned that the Callahan's were going to Texas for the Holiday to be with Gab's family . Now about Brick I am not sure when he comes to Eternity Springs ,but I will let you know when I read about it.
I pray everything goes as smooth at the Dr. as it did for Wolf ,he went for his yearly cancer screening and everything is great !!!! So we will just share the "feel good" luck with you ! Love Lola

Jina Gibbs | 763 comments Dear group,
The doctor I seen was nice. I told him about my pain and showed him on my back the 3 vertebrae that are sticking out and that when I bend over or pick up something I get a sharp pain and my leg goes to pins and needles. I also told him about my left hip hurting so bad that sometimes I cant walk. He said "hmmmm, how often does this happen" I told him its been nearly all the time since the last week of June. He asked if I fell in the last few months. I told him I fell out of bed once and slipped in the ditch mowing once but I havent fallen. (I fell out of bed because Little bit stretched and pushed me off. Lol) He told me to tread carefully and tell whatever doctor I choose to ne my doctor from the list he gave me. He did put me back on Bentyl for my IBS so that will help my stomach issues. He told me to lose 30 lbs if possible , the lower weight would be easier on my joints and kidneys. Also told me that I suffer from PTSD (knew that already) and that I need to discuss anxiety medications or an anti depressant to calm my nerves and lower my blood pressure. But that my blood pressure might be high due to pain. So he discussed my health but wants me to choose a doctor or facilty and get treatment there. There are 2 free clinics , one sliding scale clinic and 8 clinics that MIGHT take me IF I get approved for emergency Medicaid which would cover this last hospitalization and give me 6months to a year coverage so I can get treatment and have time to find an affordable insurance option. I am doing a little better. I was able to stand long enough to do dishes and can vacuum a room at a time with breaks in between rooms. So my strength is coming back its just slow and I need to be patient with myself. I guess I really got rundown this time. I will have to watch that.
Love to all,
Jina

I am so happy you were able to get some information to help you get the medical attention you need. Please follow through. We as parents tend to put off our own health issues in favor of our children. I know, I have done it myself. But in this case, Sis, you have gone too long without attention. Please don't let your body continue to deteriorate further. We love you and want you around for a very long time. I need to start looking for a new insurance plan myself. We did get good news this morning. Dave has been accepted into a government program to retrain for another profession. He gets to go for orientation tomorrow. I am so thankful because the job he had is so hard on his back. He has a deteriorating disc and he can be in such terrible pain that all he can do is lay in bed at times. I am hoping he can find something he enjoys and will be easier on his body.
Dave wants to go to Goodwill and look around so I will sign off for now. Take care.
Love and prayers for all.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! We are on the coast with minimal cell service, sketchy wifi and no TV...it's isolated, quiet and perfect for an introvert celebrating a birthday! 😂 I'm writing, too. We will be home Sunday night so I'll check in when I can and respond to the comments I e missed. Right now I'm in the only Starbucks within 60 miles and a man nearby is coughing all over the place. Lola | 1001 comments Hi All,
Wolf said to tell You All "Thank You" for all you good wishes! Little Sis , ok energizer bunny you need to slow down !!!! I haven't wanted to say anything about this until I knew it worked . Well I have lost almost 20 pounds without changing my eating and exercise plans, except for 1 thing . I started taking 4 wheat grem oils soft gels a day. I read an article from Rodale's Organic Life that told about if you have tried everything to get rid of belly fat you may have a Vit. E deficiency. As you all know I am mostly a Veggie, so I check into it and found a good source for Vit. E in Wheat Germ Oil from Amazon. I can't believe how much Fat I have lost around my Belly . Yesterday I went runny down the deck stairs with a big pot of soup ,to put in the garage frige and almost lost my pants ,nearly gave the whole neighborhood a free show lol. So ask your Dr. if you could try Vit. E. I got my Bro. into trying Horse chestnut cap. for his swelling leg ,like mine his right leg swells , no more swelling . Love Lola

Lola, I am so happy for the news about Wolf. Lord knows that must be a huge relief for him. My #3 sons fiance's mother is fighting cancer for the third time. It is a very heart-wrenching thing to watch. They are so close, I pray she can beat it again. I will be there for Kimmie anytime she needs me, but we all know, no one can take the place of your momma.
If my doctor agrees, I may try your wheat germ oil idea. I have got to get rid of some weight. I have gained so much since I have been off. I could lose fifty pounds and not miss a single one. lol. I need to watch what I eat though. Dave likes to get out of the house a lot and we wind up eating at fast food places. Not good for the waistline or our overall health. If it were up to me, I could live on veggies. But my guys are meat eaters, and I can't afford to cook two meal plans. I like salad once and a while, but not every day. Dave said he is going to build me a bigger garden space next year so I can plant a larger variety of food. I am looking forward to it.
Well, take care and have a lovely day. I think the sun is going to shine today so I guess Fall is not quite here yet. It is beginning to cool off though. Won't be long, Hallelujah!!!
Love and hugs
Linda.

Linda (lindamanthey) | 413 comments Good afternoon ladies,
I have a question for you.
Both of my doctors have suggested I start selling my handiwork on Etsy for extra income. I don't know anything about this and have no idea what to do. I'm not even sure what will sell. I don't want to make something that would require orders because I don't think I could handle the stress of deadlines. Do any of you know if you can just make things, perhaps, one of a kind item, and post them for sale? I don't know where to begin. I have been to the site but I think it intimidates me. If any of you have experience with this I would appreciate any advice or input.
Thanks,

We are still getting rain and cold temps ,never got out of the 40's today. About the Wheat Germ Oil , My Boobs are even getting smaller YEAH!!!!!! I was looking up data about Vit. I know nothing about selling on line , wish I could help. Love Lola

Dear Linda,
I think it is an excellent idea to sell your beautiful crafts on Etsy. My sister, sister-in-law and my brother have sold things there. I think it goes like this. You make an account then post what your selling item by item. Once a piece is sold that item is removed from the site until you post more for sale. You wouldnt have to stock up anything. You post only what you are ready to sell. I believe Etsy takes a small percentage of your sale or charge you for posting an item. Im not exactly sure how that part works. If I were you I would make an account and post one piece for sale. If you like the process after you've sold an item. Post more. If you dont feel comfortable with how it works then close your account. Nothing lost and maybe you'll find you love it. I know my sister wouldnt be involved with Etsy if it wasn't on the up and up. My sister is very frugal so if she's pleased with something, thats saying a lot. I love you Sis and I think it would be rewarding for you to make some extra cash on something you love doing. Plus let me know what you post. I may want to buy some.
I hope I have helped.
Love and hugs,
Jina

I would love to buy an apron with big pockets !!! Let me know where you buy your fabric and maybe I can buy the material and send it to you, if that would help you get started ? I love aprons ! They just do not make aprons like they use to.My Granny must have had at least 10 or more ,1 for gardening ,1 for the farm animals , 1 for cooking and 1 for cleaning, she had hooks by every door for her aprons. They were all made with flour sack material , I remember all the pretty fabric that flour came in, I haven't thought of that in years. She never had a dirty dress front lol !
It was 39 when we got up this morning and we can see snow on the mountain tops. The smoke is gone now it is grey from the clouds & rain. Hopefully it will be sunny one day this next week so I can finish harvesting my onions, potatoes and carrots.

Dear Sis,
I received the wheat germ oil capsules yesterday. Thank you so much!!! You are so sweet to me! I have already started taking them. I havent been on because my internet company was working on the lines the last few days. I thought I was doing better but Michael and I went on a motorcycle benefit ride Saturday and coming back my ears started ringing and my eyesight was nearly completely gone, I was nauseous and nearly fainted while riding. I had Michael pull over so I could get off the bike. I went to the grass by the curb and sat down. It was scary. Michael and I agreed that I am not going to ride until I am much much better. I hope the appointment my case manager makes for me happens soon.

Oh my goodness! Sounds really scary. Please do me a favor. Get yourself a notebook or tablet and write down symptoms whenever they occur. Include day, time, what you were doing, and in-depth detail of what happened. You need to take this to the doctor when you get to see him/her. This way you can have a record and they can make a better diagnosis. I am really worried about you. I wish I could win a lottery and take care of all our needs. I guess you have to play to win though, don't you? lol, I have a hard time turning over money to those machines. They never give it back. lol. Dave will buy a ticket now and then. He says it gives him a little bit of hope for a short while.
Please take care of yourself and get on the phone and bug that caseworker until you have a date for an appointment.
Love and prayers for you all.
Linda

Lola | 1001 comments Hi Sisters,
Jina I am glad you got the oil caps. I agree no more riding for you! You have got to take it slow , you have been running on empty for a while now ,you need to recharge ! I had a great weekend, I think Celeste may have had a hand in it along with my Sister Cornelia who passed last Sept. Wolf took a photo of the snow on our Mountains Friday, then he went to put it on his facebook page, when he did he noticed that my niece "Boo", Cornelia's baby girl, was in Whitehall Mt. ,she lives in Texas, she was visiting her Dad who is on a RV trip across the states. She was about 50 miles from us. He wrote her and told her she had better come visit ,so Sunday she ,her Dad who I haven't seen in probably 30 or more years, came over along with his Oldest Daughter by another wife and his girlfriend. We had a fun visit ,Jen came over too, I haven't seen Boo in over 10 years . She is 1 year older than my Jen, and has just retired after being a Nurse for 15 years. Her Father-in-law had a stroke so they sold their house and are moving in to care for him and Raymond's Mother too. I was so glad to hear they got over $400,000 for their home , they still have 2 kids in college so it will come in handy . Where the Angels came ,in besides Wolf seeing Boo was here, was the weather . You all know how much smoke we have had , Saturday a really cold front came thru and away went all the smoke , Sunday it was bright ,sunny ,clear blue skies and warm . We went out in the garden picking veggies for them to take with them , they couldn't believe how huge my onions are, me either ,I think this is the best crop of onions I have ever had, what we call onion ring onions. Boo texted me that she thinks that she and all siblings are going to come up here next summer, what fun ! I have been trying to get them all up here for years ! It was a great Day ! ;D Love Lola

Lola | 1001 comments Hi All,
As I told you I am re-listening to the series ,well I just found out that Teardrop Lane is going to be released Oct. 9 this will catch up the series on audio. I just finished Nightingale Way, and started Refection Point , I am really enjoying listening to them in order . I am remembering things I forgot or couldn't remember which book something was in , like in Refection Point, I remember reading a book with a Grand Daughter spreading her Grandmothers ashes, it is in this book.

I have had a messy week , my kitchen sink stopped up ,we tried everything even went and bought a drain snake but nothing worked, man is that smelly ,yuck I clean my dishes and food there !!!! You do not know how much you use something until it is gone, rinsing everything in the bathroom sink lol. No washing dishes because the dishwasher uses the same drain. Thank goodness we found a plumber here in Townsend and he was nice enough to tells us what to do, but Wolf wanted him to come do it, he was tired of messing with it. He took Wolf through everything he did ,so if it happens again he will know what to do. I finally got all the dishes washed last night , 3 loads in the dishwasher and a big hand washing of pots , man I didn't know I used so many dishes in 3 days. lol Love Lola

Lola, it's really surprising how much pot washing we create with only two people & how reliant we are on our sinks. Glad it's fixed xx

I know when are washing machine broke, we washed some by hand . It is amazing how much wash you get from 3 people. WHEN our dishwasher broke I did not realize how many pots we use.
