Congrats on the new washer! We have a front-loader and I love it. Now, of course, I want one with all the new bells & whistles, but I have other appliances in the line-up that will fail first - mainly, my oven (I have TWO tiny, tiny ovens, one that doesn't work, one that's never accurate). They were all the rage, from Amana, in the 80's - but they were designed for people who don't cook. You can't fit a turkey in them. They're really antiquated and talk about prayer? I have to pray they won't burn the house down! Our problem is that they are built in - this was a custom home in 1983, and to replace them is impossible. The cooktop is separate, and it's a whole other story...I hate the thing.

Then there's the dishwasher that came over on the Mayflower, and the refrigerator with a leaky ice machine and a seal that doesn't seal.

We are long overdue for a kitchen remodel...but OMG it costs so much.

As for signed paperbacks, let me work with Emily and see what we can arrange. Anyone who wants one, please see the new discussion topic, "Wishlist", please! Put your name in and let's see how many requests we have so that I can help figure out how to get them when things settle a bit for Emily.

Hannah (hannahdabink) | 55 comments lucky on the new washer! most of the appliances I've ever had were second hand from relatives or came with the place. Earlier this year my father in law said he'd buy us a new fridge. ours at the time being over twenty year old hand me down from the in laws. I love my new fridge I didn't go hog wild found one on sale that had everything I wanted. unfortunately I didn't find out until after out was delivered that the stainless steel doors weren't magnetic... I collect magnets.

Lola | 1001 comments Thank You Everyone! I will have to tell you her story later and boy is it a story. A big thanks to Emily , this is the Sister I bought all of Emily's books for and sent them to Emily , she signed them then sent them on to Cornelia, she said it was the best Birthday gift ever. Thanks for that Emily! I am doing a little better today. Yesterday when Jen's boss heard about what happened she told her to "go to your Mom". So nice of her and it was a comfort to have Jen to hug. Jimnlori | 31 comments Lola, sorry for your loss. I know I've missed so much by being MIA lately, but life has gotten crazy busy lately. After my father in-law passing this winter my mother suffered a stroke and a hip fracture. Not long after that her health declined rapidly and we've had to move her to a long term care home. During all of that my grandmother passed away. Keeping up with it all has been a full time job. I'm really looking forward to Emily's new book and spending more time with this great group. Hope you are all well :)

Lola | 1001 comments Thanks again for all the prayers and Love that I am feeling from all of You. I know it is going to take awhile to get use to not calling her all the time, we would talk for at least an hour every time. I am going to miss her so much. I nearly lost it yesterday when I found the renewal bill for the magazine I started sending her last year, Mary Jane's Farm, Cornelia and her Daughter raised Longhorn cattle. She loved the calves.
Jimnlori, I am so sorry for all you have gone thru. I pray life slows down for you. Thank goodness we have this great group of Ladies to lift us up! Love Lola

Paula, that book sounds really good and is filled with some great stories by some wonderful authors. I've actually had the opportunity to meet Brenda several times. She is a lovely lady who is extremely passionate about diabetes research. For those who want to know more about her story you can find it all on her website. Hope you all have an awesome day.

Linda (lindamanthey) | 413 comments My Kindle version of Christmas in Eternity Springs arrived and I have been lost in Eternity Springs for the last 24 hours. I just love it. I wish we could all live there. Wouldn't that be a great place to reside? Of all the things we have gone through this year, I think we have created a little bit of the magic of Eternity Springs here on this forum. I am thankful for each and every one of you. You have supported me through homelessness, illness, my work situation, the death of my nephew, and the reality of dealing with the failing health of my elderly parents. We have a bond here that I pray will llast a lifetime.
Thank you for being there for me at the times I needed you most.

Lola, My heart is broken at the thought of what you are going through. I still have days when I get emotional about the sudden loss of my nephew. He lived with me for a while so we were bonded as family more than my other neices and nephews.
He had a special place in my heart and always will..
I know very well how the memories rush in and blindside you without warning. Those are the times when the tears come and you are lost for a while in sorrow. But we are strong women and we always fight our way back to the "Son" light. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you travel this journey.
Peace be with you my friend.
Linda Manthey.

Dear Lola,
I am so glad the roses made it to you and that you like them. Heather picked the color. Did you realize a lot of flower places dont deliver to your zip code? You'll be getting another package in the mail, its coming from Amazon. It wasnt available on prime so it could get to you anytime in the next 3 weeks or so. We keep you and your family in our prayers (when Heather says your name it comes out "Miss Lalala"). I am tickled pink that you are going to put the bush in your fairy garden. That sounds perfect! Please know that you aren't alone. You have all of us thinking of you, praying for you and holding you in our hearts. I am here anytime you need me. Be kind to yourself.
Love you,
Jina

message 1532: by Lola (new)

Lola | 1001 comments Thank You again Jina, You didn't need to but I am so glad you did ! Every time I look at the roses I smile and right now that is more precious than gold. Tell Heather the color is beautiful, only 1 was in full bloom the rest in buds , I think that was CooCoo ,as we called her, saying Thank You too. I love how you say my name Miss Heather! I know how hard it is to find companies to deliver to Montana's smaller towns. And it is cold here today glad I was home and they didn't have to set outside. Love , Lola

Lesley | 669 comments Hi, I could really do with some of Celeste's Angel dust today as on top of the news about Mark & Judy's cancers my eldest son, John, has just told us as a result of his health check/scan following Mark's problems. He has today been told that he has problems with his kidneys/kidney function & is waiting for a Consultant's appointment; which in the NHS could take up to 18 weeks. He has one enlarged & one undersized kidney. So now we wait & see. I really don't like 2016 at the moment, what more is it going to throw at us. Sorry for the moan, just needed to tell someone, & you ladies are always there when we need each other, as we are keeping it in the immediate family until we know more. Hope you are all having a better day than me. Luv to all xx

Oh dear Lesley.
I am so sorry to hear this awful news. My brother had kidney problems from a young age. He did not learn the cause until he was in his thirties. One kidney had never grown and it could not function. Hhe had surgery and is doing well. He is now fifty-eight years old, so don't worry too much
I know that is nearly impossible for a mother, but technology and medical science has progressed leaps and bounds since he had his surgery, so imagine what they can do now.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love and hugs

Dear Lesley,
2016 has been a beotch for many of us. I am hoping for your family's sake the kidney issue is like mine. My left kidney is smaller and doesnt have the usual "kidney" shape. I have been in total renal failure 5 times. The kidney specialists, (I called them "the roto rooter men") were nice and put me on steroids and Lasix. It helped. Ive had kidney stones many times and I have to keep going back to have it checked. The last time I had it checked the "glomular (sp) filltration rate or kidney function was at 45%. Hopefully he will feel fine and all will turn out ok this time. We are here for you. Love you.

Hi! Three topics are posted, so take your pick and take your time! I've tried to avoid any spoilers since some of us haven't had a chance to read it yet. If you want a "spoilers" folder, let me know and I'll add a place where we can talk about the story in detail without ruining it for others.

I just posted my review on Amazon, too. I think I babbled. Who does that remind you of? :-)

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who are anywhere close to Hurricane Matthew. Growing up in southeast Virginia, and having had beach property at one time on the Outer Banks of NC, I've spent many harrowing hours and have lots of hurricane stories. Most are seriously funny, some poignant. My daughter now lives near the VA-NC border on low land that boarders Back Bay. We have reviewed the hurricane plan, and I'm blessed with a daughter that has enormous common sense. But I will still have the weather channel on and my cell phone by the bed.

Love and hugs to all.

Wonderful! It will be fantastic to get back to book discussions. I have missed them. I bought Christmas in Eternity Springs and got another lady interested in the series. She saw how excited I was to see the new book out that she asked me about it. I told her a quick synopsis about Celeste and the Angel wings and the town, a few snippets of the storylines including the boston terrorist. So she bought the new release and Angels Rest. It was lovely and I know she will be hooked on them.
Love you
