Happy Boxing Day to our UK members! I celebrated by watching some Premier League soccer this morning. I'm hooked.
Yes, happy boxing day. We had a good one but this momma has been sick and my adorable toddler loves to not listen. Well momma usually has a high tolerance for his not listening but it was absent. Also we have decided to name the puppy Timber.
Cute puppy name!! I hope momma feels better very soon.

Wow, what a fantastic holiday week! We just got a surprise, too - our son and his fiancée are heading our way this evening, after visiting her parents in Crescent City. I am doing a quick clean-up (using the "clean what shows" system) - and thinking of what I have in the pantry to throw together when they get here. But right now? It's FOOTBALL time!

So happy for you! Glad you get to spend more time with your kids this holiday. One of my favorite things about you is you are always so positive and enthusiastic about life, people and just the whole experience of anything you are doing. You could easily be a motivational speaker or mentor or life coach. I just thought I'd share that compliment. Its one of my resolutions to be positive and tell people positive things about themselves. I watched football today too. My Carolina Panthers got beat :( but it could be worse. Take care and have a lovely week.
Sincerely Yours
Jina
Dear Jina,I was so pulling for the Panthers to go undefended , I think Cam is the best! I was really bummed ! I agree Paula ,lemons lemonade, Hugs Lola
lol I got a call from my Brother tonight , they already have 7 inches of snow in Midland Tx. We have maybe 2 lol. Hugs Lola
Dear Group,It seems everyone enjoyed the Secret Santa. I am so glad we did that. I also have received some beautiful cards and some fantastic ecards as well. Thank you. "My cup runneth over..." Valentine's day will be here soon. Maybe we can do something fun for that. Any ideas? Anyone else want to do something fun, or a challenge or something?
Enjoy the rest of your holidays and stay safe and healthy. Here's to a spectacular 2016!!!!
Sincerely Yours,
Jina
Lola wrote: "lol I got a call from my Brother tonight , they already have 7 inches of snow in Midland Tx. We have maybe 2 lol. Hugs Lola"Dear Lola,
We have record breaking heat here in North Carolina. It was 79 degrees for the high today. And the poor trees that had lost their leaves are so confused that there is a row of trees near here that are budding out and have tbe "cherry blossoms" on them. Next weekend it is supposed to be cold and start freezing at night so they will probably lose their blooms then.
On another subject, since you do gardening I have some questions. If you dont have an answer maybe you could tell me who I would need to talk to or call for the answers. I was outside this morning taking my puppy out to pee and I stepped in a hole. I was lucky I didnt break my ankle. Once I stuck my arm down in the hole, it was deeper than fingertips to my shoulder and I still hadn't touched bottom. I could also bend my arm and not feel any walls under part of the ground. I know its a matter of time before that area falls in. What could have caused it? I didnt feel any debris as if it were an animals nest. I marked the area with wood and bricks so no one else will fall in. I am thinking of getting a couple bags of top soil and filling it up but I want to know if that open area under the ground leads to any other area that may sink in. What do you suggest I do? Thank you my friend. Any advice is much appreciated.
Sincerely Yours,
Jina
Hi everybody! It was a weird football day for sure. The end of a wild season. My team lost. It wasn't pretty.
We are having a nice evening with the kids, watching a vampire movie and exchanging gifts. It's rainy here, and we convinced them to stay overnight.
I've been concerned about all of our members...and our author...in Texas and the Midwest. Hope you are all safe, warm & dry.
I have to get back to work tomorrow, and I'm not ready! Does anyone else feel like they need a holiday after their holiday? :-)

Jina I'm so glad you didn't get hurt! I broke my ankle a few years ago when the same thing happened. It sounds like you might have a sink hole there, but I have no idea what to do about them. Hopefully some of our more savvy members can help!
I like the idea of a Valentine's challenge! A romance giveaway or something. All suggestions welcome!

Dear Paula,
Maybe since its Valentine's and a holiday about love and couples we could do one of those questions like before. One time you asked" who was our favorite hero and why?" Maybe this question could be about "Who is your favorite couple and why?" It could be from books or even movies or tv shows since a lot of movies are based off of a book. Just an idea.
Jina
Dear Jina,Boy I am not sure about the hole, Have you been having a lot of rain ? If so it could be a sink hole like Paula said. Moles also do make long deep tunnels. You may want to call your County Extension Office and see who to talk to about it.
Valentine Day sounds like fun, will think on it.
I am going to ask you all for a big favor , I need HELP !!! A while back I had a exercise Buddy , but we have lost touch. I did really well keeping up on my exercises when I had someone to report to. I really need to get back into exercising . I have a great elliptical machine and It's not doing me good just collecting dust! So will you all be my incentive to get back to it! If not I will understand. Hugs Lola

Of course! Drop and give me 20!!!! I am going to start my exercises too.. I have been doing some when I can but I really am going to get with it now. We can report to each other. Take care.
Jina
I love the Favorite Couple idea!!! We can celebrate February with a month of romance questions!
Anyone who's up for exercise encouragement, and resolutions too --- I'm in!
I'll start some New Years threads when I get home from work tonight.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

Dear Group,If studying the Bible or something similar is on your resolutions list I have a couple sample Bible study print outs that show the verses to read, what lesson to be learned etc for each week of the year. If you are interested I can either email it to you or find a way to share it with the group.
As far as couples questions we could also have a question like what was your most memorable date? (That could be hilarious)
I hope everyone is doing well.

Jina I would love for you to email the print outs to me. Love the whole study with lessons learned concept.
I would love to be part of the exercise encouragement, being accountable group. I was doing exceptionally well exercising and eating well from March until October of this year. My weight, cholesterol and especially my triglycerides were the best they have been in years. And then work happened.

I hear you! My downfall was the two trips to England - then I straightened myself up and the holidays hit. Despite my best intentions I have really overdone it. Indulged. Over indulged. And I feel it now. Time to get serious about the cholesterol and the activity again - we're going skiing in a little over 6 weeks, in Colorado - and I'd like to come home without Xrays or an MRI this year. LOL.
Wish I could pop into Eternity Springs and hit Angel's Rest on the way.

A visit to Angel's Rest would be wonderful. New Years resolution is to excercise regularly and eat right to get back on track. So the group would be good.
I never tried downhill ,once we traveled to Col. from Texas . I was waiting my turn to go up to the bunny hill to try it and a man broke his leg come down the bunny hill . I turned in my skis ,and went to the bar ,set by the fireplace and had my Kahlua and coffee and was happy! I do like cross country skiing ,talk about exercise ! One time I rolled down a hill while skiing at Yellowstone and there was a herd of Bison with in a arms reach of me and they just looked at me like there is one crazy lady ,snorted and kept eating , while I laughed my ass off. Hugs Lola
Did any of you ever read Terry Brook's Shannara series ? I read it ages ago . I just read that they are making a TV series from it on MTV. I will have to check it out. Hugs Lola
Hey everyone, Sorry to be MIA this past week. We are all moved in. I have boxes and bags scattered everywhere, but we are home. We are still waiting for the internet service installed and service on my phone is sporadic so checking in has been difficult. I am also working. I have been taking my husband and son to work at 3:00am coming back home and then to work later on. My husband takes the bus to my workplace, picks up my son and comes back later for me. Yes, we need a second car, lol. Other than that, not much going on, lol. I hope you all have a great New Years. I will be working straight through until Sunday so I guess I can say we are going to be part of the old foggie gang. I will check back when I can. Peace be with you all.
Dear Linda ,So glad to hear that you are HOME! I Hope everything slows down in the New Year. Hugs Lola

Linda,
Glad that you are in your home. Work is good. A night in for New Year's Eve and early to bed means the craziness is not going to bug you.

I loved these books and Can't wait to reread them. Now, all I have to do is find them amongst all this mess, lol.

Hi, everyone - I'm in Goodreads working on the group today - I am planning to update the name to reflect the broader scope of the group. I'm doing a bit of research to see what might fit, so please bear with me. I want it all ready to launch by Monday, so stay tuned.

Hi, everyone!
Yes, I've been hard at work at the group home base, and I hope you like the updates. As you can see, there's a new banner photo and our next read is highlighted in the profile photo; there are new folders to start our next read - Luke - and an updated reading schedule.
I retired some old discussions, but kept our Eternity Springs folders intact, so if you read or re-read -- or are new to the group -- you can look back.
I started new folders for our group 'resolutions' - many of us are tackling new personal and reading goals, and suggested that we set aside some threads to capture those and encourage each others to stay on track...so check them out.
I will add a giveaway folder for each new book - and your suggestions for giveaways - topics, challenges, and prizes - are always welcome.
Goodreads has made some updates to the home page display, and I hope you like what you see - I welcome your feedback on the new look of our group page, topics, and other suggestions as we go along.
Welcome to 2016! Let's have some fun!

Dear Group,Today is tough for me. Its the 3 year anniversary since Heathers heart attack and complications from that she is still recovering from. Well to be totally honest, our whole family is still recovering from the changes that resulted from that day. The last two years I made a point to do something fun with the kids on this day but its raining today and yesterday when I was "winter cleaning" , I was going through my closet and ran across the bag of clothes the nurse or whoever cut off my daughter the day she had her heart attack. It so happened she had worn her favorite shirt that day. I remembered keeping it but wasnt prepared to "find" it yesterday. So today is rough with the shoulda, coulda, wouldas. I cant bring myself to throw away the shirt. It was her favorite. But tomorrows a new day and it will be better. Take care my friends sorry that I have bad days sometimes.
Hugs to you,
Jina
Jina, it's perfectly natural to feel that way, but you know that there is nothing you could have known or done; God has a purpose for everything. Give yourself permission to dwell there today but don't forget what an amazing mom you are or what a special family God has in all of you.
Maybe there's a shirt out there she'd love even more. Keep that one as a memory of all you and she have managed to overcome. ❤️

Jina,
Remember this that everything changes, you have a major event that changed things for all those involved. GOD still had your daughter here with you so you adjust and keep making memories and celebrating every little achievement . I think everyone has changes some major and some that are little that add up to major changes. In 1995, I had my 2nd major health changing event as an adult and I still count time as before and after whether I say it out loud or not. Your feelings are normal I think of the poem FOOTPRINTS . Sometimes I think GOD should be tired of carrying all of us but he is GOD and knew this to start with.
Know that you all make special memories together and are special.

Thinking about you, be strong. Do you quilt or is there some other craft you can use to make something with the material so that you can see it as a different/happier item rather than a sad one?

Hi, Margaret! It's great to see you! I hope all is well and you had a great Christmas! We have all been pulled in so many directions lately, I for one can't wait to settle back in for a trip to Brazos Bend on January 4th.
