Why Read: I remember reading an analysis of how much in the Old Testament resembled the cultural practices of the Bedouins. This led the author to speculate that the tribes of Israel were wandering Bedouin tribes in the Sinai Desert for millennia. I've been wanting to learn more about the Bedouins ever since.

Comments: I profoundly disagreed with the author's approach and thought that the material she gathered from her informants wasn't very interesting. Rating C+. It was a good idea. Not so much in the implementation.

14)The Limehouse Textby Will Thomas (Victorian mystery) 337 pages. Source: Library Started: 6/28 Finished: 6/28

Why Read: I liked the first book in the Barker & Llewellyn series, Some Danger Involved. So I decided to read another one. This is book #3

Comments: This deals with a Chinese martial arts text about a horrifying technique that can't be allowed to get out. This is a well-written mystery. I gave it a B. At the moment, I don't have any plans to continue with the series unless there are future books that sound interesting enough.

15)Blade of the Samurai by Susan Spann (Japanese historical mystery) 293 pages. Source: Library Started: 6/28 Finished: 6/29

Why Read: This is the second in a series. I liked the first. I read it when I did because the third in the series was scheduled for a blog tour, and I thought that this book might contain background that I'd need for my review.

Comments: Lots of intrigue in the Shogunate. This would be more interesting to someone who likes power politics. It's all very nasty. There's a kitten
who is wonderful for a few laughs. Rating B-

I think the amount of writing that I did about a number of these books was because they inspired me. So it's all to the good, though I was disappointed by the last few books.

To only be disappointed about the last few of fifteen books that inspired you to talk about them sounds like a very good month!
