Oh. Autumn and winter are actually my favorites, so I am a little sad to see them go. They are much cleaner and easier to live with where I am, though, never trailing dirty snow.Hello, spring and aggressive springtime sun. Please be kinder to my skin and outdoor napping routines this year.
yeah winter is always like an old friend who visits and stays too long. kooky fun reminiscing but the longer they stay the more you wish they were gone hello spring, you bringer of baseball
It is? Really? It is?!??!

But we're still not supposed to start wearing white until Easter Sunday (at least, I know this is the tradition in the South)... not that that's ever stopped me from wearing white. I tend to wear it year-round. :) I'm wearing rose pink, ivory, bronze, and brown today, though. Purely coincidence.
C'mon Crocuses! C'mon Daffodils! You can do it!
Spring is piddly in Colorado. It takes for freaking ever for these little dudes to make their way out, and then we'll get 8 inches of snow dumped on them the next day.
The Jacaranda, Japanese Tulip, and Bartlett Pear trees are blooming like craaaazy around here! It's sooo beautiful. :)
That's beautiful.Clusters of crocus
Purple and gold
Blankets of pansies
Up from the cold
Lilies and iris
Safe from the chill
Safe in my garden
Snowdrops so still

Princeton is unbelievably beautiful in the spring. I can't wait for the Cherry trees to bloom along the avenues. Goodbye, winter.
In Lancaster, PA, there are hundreds of dogwood trees along President Street that bloom early in the spring. I always enjoyed that when I lived there.

Kevin, the reference to the friend is so true! I love it!
Spring and Autumn are my favorites!! I'm not sad to see Winter go at all!
Happy Spring Equinox!Oregon is still struggling with the notion that it's not winter still, but my hummingbirds are back and we have actually had some sunshine lately.
Breathing a BIG sigh of relief. There is a light at the end of the web-footed tunnel.
birds are singing in the morning. i love it. not my wife. she is a sleeper and wants me to silently kill them all
Birds singing here too - love it. My wife doesn't mind the birds, just wants them to keep quiet until she is ready to get up.
The swans have been returned to the lake behind my building. This year I vow to find out where they they take them for the winter. The zoo is what we suspect. It's wonderful to see them again![image error]
We're not quite ready to bloom yet, but the sun is shining. We get lots of flowering trees by the end of the month, and we have a lilac bush right outside our front door that will smell absolutely wonderful in another couple of weeks.
We have two lilac bushes, but neither have a real strong smell. It will probably be a month yet till they bloom here.

Goodbye, winter. I enjoyed you. You got a little cold, here and there, but I'm glad you visited. I would miss you if you didn't come back or we moved too far for you to visit.
But, uh, if you could take the last of the dirty snow with you as you leave, well, I wouldn't complain. Thank you.
