What is with all the flowery language?I thought this was a horror book! and everyone just loves each other. esp. the captain on the boat? how can he be a best friend of Frankenstein, when he doesn't even know him? is Frankenstein delusional? how does the captain know he is truthtelling?

What about the women and how they fit in? so many damsels in distress,it is objectifying!

Justine gives it all up even though she was not the murderer, citing examples of her desire to limit the angst her refusal to confess will give to others

"I am required not only to raise the spirits of others but to sometimes sustain my own when there is a failing" . Not only is this statement a double entendre on frank's good/evil but a clever use of animation and affirmation of his archetype of the protagonist

Liked the letter writing format as it gave clarity to some of the situations
