How long in advance do I need to notify Kindle of a giveaway?

I want to do a giveaway at the end of July. I couldn't find this on the KDP select website, but I might have missed it.

Also, do you think it makes sense to do a giveaway in July or should I wait till september?

Typically people read less in the summer when they can get out and do stuff they couldn't do in the winter. However, in August it gets so dang hot that people retreat inside to the a/c. Try it in August.

YW. But on that thought, probably try a second giveaway in January when people are inside more. Try to reach out wherever possible to Canadians during winter; they really read a lot when they get snowed in.
