Hi all! My name is Rachel and I am a graduate student finishing up my PhD. in Clinical Psychology. I am currently living in Florida, US but will soon be moving to Texas for a fellowship. I primarily speak English but also know a bit of French (better with reading rather than speaking). I am also really interested in learning Spanish and will probably start into this process once I make the move to Texas. When I'm not reading or working, I really enjoy being outdoors (me and my husband do a lot of camping/kayaking/fishing) and I really enjoy yoga. When I AM reading, I also enjoy learning about wine and wine/food pairings. =)I decided to take on the year of books challenge this year (reading one new book every two weeks) which has really expanded my range of reading interests. I tend to gravitate toward fictional books (just read Fates and Furies which was amazing) and memoirs (really enjoyed Gloria Steinem's memoir most recently).
I really value connecting with people from other cultures/countries/regions and would enjoy being able to discuss books, culture, and life with someone I wouldn't normally be able. I am very open to others interests and would even love to connect with a Spanish or French speaker to really push me out of my comfort zone! I love to read YA and some of my favorite authors are Cassandra Clare, John Green, David Levithan, Gayle Forman and the likes. But I pretty much read anything.
