Agreed, I'm not too sure what to expect. It's been hit and miss for me with Cutter. I really enjoyed The Troop, but was not a fan of The Deep.
I'm at 90% with The Talisman, should be starting The Acolyte some time tomorrow. I've got guests coming to the campsite today which will slow down my reading...
This is a fast read. Not sure what to hunk of the weird world Cutter's created, but it is just interesting enough for me to keep going. The protagonist hasn't been drawn well enough for me to 'get' him as a person yet.
Yep, definitely an interesting premise...I'm pretty sure that the religion that is taking over the world is commercialism, but interesting to see the author's take on an extreme right wing christian takeover of authority.
Yes it is weird how all the commercial products have blatantly obvious religious names...almost a little over the top, silly.
I'm now at page 156, the book is getting a gumshoe detective feel to it... (view spoiler). All in all, I'm enjoying it so far.
As I'm reading, it just gets weirder. I think the oddest thing about this book is that the narrator doesn't have feelings about anything. He just moves from scene to scene, no conjecture in his thoughts at all. I wonder if it's intentional.
