It's time, guys... It's time to take on David Mitchell! I remember seeing the movie adaptation of this book and being massively confused, but also very intrigued and wanting to know more about all of the storylines. Cloud Atlas is one of those novels that have been on my to-read list for years, but I've been too intimidated to read it. This book features multiple storylines throughout different points in time that are somehow connected. I remember the movie being full of meaning and commentary about humanity, so I am incredibly excited to finally see what this is all about. I hope you join me!

I got a late start on this one, so I'm only about 120 pages in at the moment. I have to say, I'm enjoying the writing and the style more than I thought I would. I love how different the characters' voices are and how well you can tell that these people are at very different points in history. So far, the connection between everyone is not very obvious (unless I'm missing it).

Tatiana | 7 comments Yeah. I'm so confused. I'm an hour in and can't understand what's going on and why. Too bad, cause I was excited about Scott Brick being one of the narrators. I do remember not getting the ship scenes and their connection to any other story in the movie too. So far I can't comment on whether connections are obvious cause at one point dr goose is referred to as third person and then as first. When dialogue happens I gave no idea who the parties are and what each is saying. I'll try to listen more but it's so easy to drift away from this book and get even more confused.
