laurel [the suspected bibliophile] (laurelthereader) thanks Grem! I just went through everything I read starting from July to see if it worked.

I hope you had a good trip with you mom. Glad you are back.

Gremlin | 966 comments Catching myself up with this challenge, I just finished re-reading (or listening to, this time) Anne of Green Gables myself! So, taking place in the country of Canada.

Similarly, prior to that I read The Girl in the Road - which is an adult book that takes place in future India and Ethiopia (though I'll pick India, as that's where it starts).

Another 5,000 points for this gal! :)

message 129: by Gremlin (new)

Gremlin | 966 comments Yes! Congratulations, Gabriela!!! You're the amazing lone Globetrotter!!!

(I was so close to being a Globetrotter, too - half way through my final translated book but then my night got away from me. *Sigh*)

message 139: by Gremlin (last edited Oct 01, 2015 08:55AM) (new)

Gremlin | 966 comments Everyone should be updated up to this point! (But obviously, those of you who have final books to report, feel free to continue to do so).

As of right now, we've got 2 folks who "traveled" around the world (one was Gabriela, accumulating 2,500 miles, and the other was Kdbrand who read a book for each continent); 4 people who made it 3/4's of the way around the globe; another 4 folks that made it halfway around the globe (one of which was R.A. reading 3 books from 3 continents); and another 4 "weekenders" that made it a quarter of the way with 6,250 miles under their belts.

Well done to everyone!!!

And well done to anyone who took on this challenge! My hope is that even if you only read a book or two, you may have encountered another culture or world worth learning about. :)

message 140: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela Thank you Gremlin!! And congratulations to you too, it was a great challenge!
