Bingo Halls and Casinos are separate things here in the UK. As Peggy mentioned, bingo is mainly played by the elderly. or at least that used to be the case. I've not been to one of the halls. I went to a casino a few years back for a Christmas meal. we got vouchers to use in the casino after. I used my vouchers but that was it. I have no desire to gamble. I do play the lottery occasionally but I get annoyed if I don't win - I'm a terrible loser.

I went to a casino once, when I was 18 or something, with my colleagues from where I had a weekend-job. There were these slot machines that you can play as often as you like with 1 or 2 euros, but for everything else the minimum bet was 25 euros. That was quite an amount of money for me back then, as a student, definitely considering that I would probably lose all of it, so I didn't play and haven't been since.

Mandy, enjoy Savannah, that's some place I've always wanted to visit.
Well, boo, I am sick...again. I can't believe this I've never had two colds back to back...I'm thinking that maybe the first one was just really bad allergies. I'm loading up on vitamins and healthy food. I need to make some bone broth to freeze this winter. Mainly, I just need to get back to eating Paleo, because I was never sick when I made an effort to eating clean.

Amanda, have fun! I love Savannah, it's a gorgeous place.

When I just started as a student smoking in designated areas in the train was still allowed. I remember how disgusting it was to open the door to a smoking compartment and find it full with smoking people and all blue with smoke. When it was really busy I still rather stand in a crowded place than sit in the smoking area.

Smoking...I'm older, so I remember my first pediatrician blowing smoke in my face. My dentist, too.

This is true in Washington, too. Otherwise, yes, smoking is banned in public places, or within a certain designated distance of a public place. The law is also state to state. I know last time I was in Indiana (which was about 10 years ago!), there was still a smoking section in the restaurant. That might have changed now. But, yeah, the reservations are exempt from many state and federal regulations - including sales tax, which makes them the least expensive place in WA to buy cigarettes, where the average cost of a pack is $8-$9.

Bella, I'm not that old but I also remember the GP I had as a child smoking cigars when seeing patients.

I agree! Is so much better now! I really suffered in those closed places full of smoke... And when you were back at home you could still smell it in you hair and clothes. Disgusting.

Sounds awesome! Have fun.

Rusalka we had breakfast with a couple here in Savannah who is here from Australia. It was so interesting talking to them. They are on a 5 week tour of the U.S.

The only rule around here is no smoking in a closed up public places, i.e malls, restaurants and etc

I cut my nails today and then I was trying to remove something, stupidly I used my thumb and mostly the cut off thumb nail to remove it. I caused the nail to be removed from the finger :(
It kept bleeding for a while and it still hurts so badly!
I tried to return back to drawing but that didn't work out so well!
So I guess I'll stick up with reading and delay all the drawing I have to do till my nail feels better !

My best friend's brother and me

Not bad for an old broad!

Today I had the greatest disappointment related with friendship. I wasn't expecting that at may age.

Speaking of being disappointed I am so disappointed in my ex he and my daughter 17 have had a bad relationship for a long time, especially since we got divorced, but yesterday they got in a huge fight and he told her as well as me that she is no longer ever going to be part of his life, and that is his child! Very emotional weekend,, I mean I understand he and I are not always going to get along, otherwise why would he be divorced, but who is the adult here??? I'm just so irritated, sorry I had to vent! The word disappointed just reminded me of how disappointed I am in him.

Speaking of being disappointed I am so d..."
I'm so sorry about your ex. Makes me feel lucky for my dad, faults and all. My brother in law got divorced last year and he called his father, looking for some moral support, I guess, on Christmas Day. For whatever reason, my FIL tells him that he doesn't think that my BIL is his biological son because his "mother was a whore who slept around." Best Christmas gift ever, right? Jerk, haven't spoken to him for 14 years. Hate his guts.

The truly horrible thing is that if you asked anyone who isn't his ex, children, or grandchildren, everyone would say what a good, nice man my FIL is. He's just nicer the more distantly he's related to you, bonus niceness if you're not related at all by blood.

Aww thank you Kandice :)

On a cheerier note, Anne, loved hearing about your fun high school reunion. Just 5 years until my 40th reunion now.
As a former smoker, ugh, so happy to have cut that ball and chain, i made myself smoke outside always well away from any doors or other people except other smokers. Even at home, i only smoked outside. I hoped actually to diacourage my smoking besides not wanting my house to smell yucky.
It took me various tries and i had some slips, but i did succeed in quitting completely. Years ago now, but i still remember what a struggle it was. My dad was a smoker and i was around second hand smoke a good bit since he smoked in the house and the car (and restaurants and just about everywhere it seemed). Then i started sneaking cigarettes when i was 17, and then buying them myself after i turned 18. So glad that's long in the past.

Crazy all this talk about high school reunions. It's the last thing I'd want to go to, no matter how many years on. So glad to get out of there. Facebook is kind of like a reunion and that's bad enough.

Sorry to hear your stories Sandra, Bella and Berit. People can suck indeed.
I have a reunion coming up too soon, but it is an elementary school reunion. It's been 19 years since we left that school! Incredible. The reason is that earlier this year that school had its 40-year anniversary and there was a big reunion planned, but I couldn't make it and neither could many of my classmates. So we decided to organize our own, just for our class. I'm looking forward to it, it's the first reunion I'll ever go to. I wouldn't be much interested in a high school reunion though.
